A side to Turner that I had an inkling of, but was not fully aware of the pictures and the story behind it. The book focuses on the stories around a collection of sketches grouped together and 'kept as evidence of the failure of mind only', by John Ruskin, who tried to maintain a particular image of one of England's greatest artist, palatable for Victorian society.

These pictures and sketchbooks are a part of the Turner Bequest at the Tate.
