This is the kind of book that you can read anytime, a sweet romance and an interesting plot Photobucket So my rec goes to those who like their dose of happy and mushy Photobucket Me, I have a problem with too much mushyness, so that's why the three stars Photobucket

The story is pretty simple - the hero and the heroine fake the marriage because of some family problems, the hero and the heroine marry for real and fall in love, the hero and the heroine have a fight and ge...more

"Of course love spells didn't work. She may as well look up hero in the dictionary and wish for Superman to appear outside her condo window."

Ah Maggie, how happy I was to see you and the good Count again.

I was so excited to start this book. The Marriage Bargain is one book that always stays hidden in my heart to pull out when I need comfort and what better comfort comes from that book than hiding dogs and the sexy scene that follows.

I have waited to see what happened on the blind date between...more

2.5 Stars. This book was a throwback to all the cheesy Harlequin/Silhouette romances from years gone by. It was cute; but in this day and age, not very filling or believable; a light little ball of fluff reading.

Once again, a woman (Maggie), who is supposed to be a 'I am woman hear me roar' liberated type; has resorted to a love spell to find the man of her dreams. Enter family friend Michael Conte, who needs a faux wife to fool his family into letting his sister marry. Seems his he and his mom...more

The Marriage Trap by Jennifer Probst is passionately sexy and emotionally compelling. Mia Amore! It sure did surpass my expectations.

I won’t reiterate the plot; I think the synopsis does a fine job of that.

I loved the characters in this book, Michael is the kind of guy dreams are made of; Handsome, loyal, family oriented, compassionate a guy with a big heart.
Maggie is my kinda girl; strong, independent, feisty and sassy to the end.
Together Michael an...more

Let me just start off by saying that I loooooved the first book of this series The Marriage Bargain. Ms. Probst did a GREAT job at creating such a nice and hawt (hot) buildup between the two characters (Nick & Alexa), that I was bummed when the book ended. That of course led me to want to read the 2nd volume, just hoping for a little more of a glimpse into their story again or atleast to recapture that feeling that I felt. Deep breath in, now exhale….“Ahhhhh.” Ok enough of that, moving on!

The Marriage Trap is the second book in the Marriage to a Billionaire series by Jennifer Probst. The books can be read as standalones.

We first met Maggie and Michael in the first book, The Marriage Bargain. Maggie is the younger sister of Nick from TMB and Alexa's best friend. Michael is a business associate of Nick's and pretty much pulled out the stops to get Alexa into his bed, or so it appears. Now these two have their...more

Fun. Witty. Loving.

The story continues in the series with Maggie and Michael. The story results in a well-rounded love story worthy of any readers time. I will admit, the beginning of the story seems to start a bit slower, than what I would have liked, but it wrapped up nicely. And, I must admit, I enjoyed how the ending of the story ends with Micheal's sister arriving on his doorstep in New York all the way from Italy. So it just makes the next book in the series all that much more alluring.

Michael needs a bride. Not long term or anything, just someone to stand up with him long enough so his sister can marry. In his traditional italian family, it is stipulated that he, as the eldest, must marry before his sister may marry. So Michael devises a plan to try to convince Maggie to marry him, short term. He feels she is the best choice, as she isn't the type to bring expectations or any sense of permanance to the situation. And he is in dire need.

Maggie is a phot...more

After reading The Marriage Bargain, I was itching to get my hands on the next two books in the series. i am so glad to have finally gotten a chance to read this one! I loved Maggie and Michael in the first book and was hoping against hope that the blind date would work out.

I was disappointed when I started this book that Maggie wasn't already with Michael, but soon couldn't put it down. Michael's sister is wanting to get married and since there was a death bed promise of an ancient tradition be...more

This is my first book by the author Jennifer Probst, after reading it I realized that there was a first book called The Marriage Bargain, but you really don't miss out on anything. The Marriage Trap was about two totally different people, but the characters from the first book are also in it.

The series also revolves around this little purple love spell book and I know from reading this book that Alexa from the first book did a spell and got her man, now Maggie thinks it's stupid b but she right...more

Review for all 3 books in the series.

As a whole, I give the series 3 stars. There were times where I thoroughly enjoyed it and other times I was just annoyed. But these are basically lifetime movies in book form so you have to take read them with a grain of salt. The books were at the best when the couples were talking and getting to know each other. With the exception of all the men apparently being extremely well-endowed, generous, skilled lovers, the characters were pretty different from book...more

Overly Dramatic Soap Opera. That is the best way to describe The Marriage Trap by Jennifer Probst. Not the bad kind, the kind that is entertaining & fun in the beginning, and then after a while you wonder if there is something else to the story. I loved the first one in the series, The Marriage Bargain because I deeply connected with the characters, and could feel their emotions, but in The Marriage Trap I didn't like Maggie, therefore I never conn...more

Probst gives us two compelling characters living their lives full-throttle despite carrying around past pain - or at least they think they are until they realize that pain needs to be dealt with. Michael was a bit too perfect sometime, and his Italianness seemed rather uneven, but I definitely bought that he was the right guy for Maggie and rooted for their love story. Maggie seems like someone I wouldn't like or understand in real life, but she has appeal as a heroine. I'm not sure how to feel...more

THE MARRIAGE BARGAIN
Alexa McKenzie needed to save her home, and billionaire, Nicholas Ryan, needed a wife to inherit his father's company. When Alexa conjures a love spell, the two get more than they bargained for.
This is my first time reading a Probst, and will definitely not be my last. She hit the NY Times and USA Today bestseller list after this, and for good reason. This is an author to keep an eye out for. I love that she was able to...more

Can I get someone to trap me in a marriage and is a billionaire and who is great in bed and has all the qualities of the good HERO and oh let me see wants to take care of me? Yes all of that...I must say though I wasn't as happy with this one as I was with the first book. So, here is the con. I thought book one was better. Maggie just got in her own way ALL of the time. How does one block themselves all of the time? She worked my nerves just a little bit. Michael was good he stayed on point thro...more

Then yesterday I was a K-mart (I can't go to a store that has a book section and not look) and like always I have to go to the book section. Their on the shelf were the next two books in the series. An Italian Count, how about that!

The second book in the Marriage to a Billionaire series is a good read.

I enjoyed it because of Michael Conte's family. I love the supporting characters to bits - the mother and the 3 sisters of Michael. It was heartwarming to read about family and their support toward each other.

And this book is really not selfish. Instead of focusing on the hero, Michael Conte and Maggie Ryan, it also focuses on the family and friends relationship. I am so happy to read about th...more

this was a pretty good book. I kept seeing it whenever I was looking for other books and thought I would finally give it a try.
I didnt realize until I was almost done that this was the second book in a trilogy. I loved that Micheal was italian and the fact that he used italian phrases. Who said you need to take a class to learn another language! Reading a book is enough. Countless times I had to google translate some stuff but i liked the phrases he used; it made him alot sexier. I received both The Marriage Trap and The Marriage Mistake from Edelweiss. The books are the second and third in a series. I haven’t read the first book but that didn’t make any difference in following the stories. At the heart of each story the main character uses a love spell found in a book. They write what they want in a husband, do the spell and then burn the paper in a fire that is part of the spell. The theme in both books are marriages that do not start as love storie...more

I really enjoyed Jennifer Probst first book but I think I like The Marriage Trap a bit better. Maggie Ryan is the photographer sister of Nick(the hero in the previous book), who is smart, successful and independent and great at hiding her feelings after the lonely childhood she and Nick had. Her best friend and brother's wife set her up with Michael Conte a year back and she felt a spark but was rejected so she convinced herself that Michael was in love with Alexa.

The reason I liked this book wa...more

Review:
The first in the series, The Marriage Bargain, was a very hot and emotional novel. Although the story highly focused on the romance and the spark between the characters the story line was lacking. Now, in the second one I found that the storyline was little bit better, Except the characters were not ones that appealed to me. I found both of them to have unrealistic control freak levels. Basically what threw me off was that she basically says and plans to leave three times and realizes thr...more

The Marriage Trap by Jennifer Probst is enticing and passionate.
compelling.

I loved the characters in this book, Maggie as first introduced in the first novel of the series is a strong independent photographer, who is fierce and sassy and handles herself well. Whereas, Micheal (also introduced in The Marriage Bargain) is an Italian Romantic who dates countless women on the verge of trying to find The One, his true soul mate. He is loyal to his family and his mother (Mama Conte) is a true belie...more
