This was a fun little short. The heroine had a few hang ups that got old after a while, but there were quite a few funny situations (like when the hero's dog ate his handcuff key!) that had me giggling. Pick this one up if you're in the mood for fun!

I have been in the mode of trying new-to-me authors. After reading the blurb for Ten Reasons Not to Date a Cop by Amie Louellen, I was ready to sink my teeth in. It’s a sweet romance that, for the most part, kept my attention and has an interesting plot.

Luc is a sexy, smoldering detective that you can’t help but fall in love with. Kaylee is a serial fiancé who I had a hard time connecting with. The premise revolves around Kaylee’s refusal to dat...more

When I first saw the cover of this book I knew it would be a fun, flirty, light read. I was not disappointed.
Kaylee Stephens is caught up in one of Luc Blackfox’s investigations. When he is thrown off the case he decides to make a play for Kaylee, but she refuses because she does not date cops.

I chuckled, not just smiled, throughout the book. The characters are well written and engaging. I rolled my eyes at Kaylee several times during because she seemed too stubborn. Luc was one of those never...more

This was a fun, easy read, book. It's somewhere between 4 and 4.5 stars. An epilogue would have kicked it up to a 5 start book. Although good, it was an implied happily-ever-after ending, especially given Kaylee's prior history. I wanted a for sure happily-ever-after ending which would have been so easily accomplished with a few additional pages.

All-in-all a good book. It was a romance with a story attached, rather than a story with a romance attached. Just the way I like a romance book. Althou...more

I loved this book. The characters were developed in such a way that you just wanted to keep reading to see what they were going to get into next. The book was also very funny. I usually don't laugh out loud while reading, but there were many times I did. The best part of the story was the romance. Amie Louellen always does an amazing job creating the love between characters. And, the sex scenes were incredibly steamy. This is the third contemporary romance I have read by this author and I highly...more

This romance had me after the first few paragraphs. How many of us have been stopped by the police? I know I have--more than once. Even so, I never had a detective like Luc saunter up to me, asking for my driver's license. I love it when the characters are so well-crafted, they reach out and grab me by the throat--and the heart. This was an excellent read. The additon of two nosy co-workers, one bossy family and a neurotic dog rounded out the cast, lending an endearing quirky quality to the stor...more

A good story that made for a quick read.

The only thing that would have made this book better is that the review (that I read) implied that dad and brothers, as cops, were extremely overprotective. In reality, they were not all that overprotective, and in reality seemed to be pushing Luc and Kaylee to get together.

Sweet story, hilarious, with a really hot cop, a cursed object and a woman hell bent to not date a cop... I loved all the accidents that was happening because of the curse..
Jasmine Tiller
it was so good, loved that it focused on Luc and Kaylee relationship rather than Luc occupation.

Didn't understand the title because I read it twice and ten reasons were never listed.

Sweet with the sexy detective and his persistence.
I loved the dog!
