A really confusing and frustratingly disappointing book. Not really a novel, because there isn't really a plot. The themes and concepts are quite interesting, but some of them almost require an advanced degree in physics to appreciate. Yet it seems to have been written by a third grader who just learned English, and hasn't quite mastered the intricacies of "thereby" vs "therefore" and myriad other expressions. I like the story so far, but the footnotes about the sciencey stuff is a bit off putting. I wish the author had just given me, the reader, enough credit to either get it or suspend my disbelief enough to not need to get it or made one of the characters give us an abridged version.
I have now finished the book and really liked the story but it was weighted down by heavy handed discriptions of all the science contained within it. I enjoyed the science and the obvious research that went into the bo

Really good. I'm not a huge fan of a lot of science in my books but the way this author wrote it was really good. The footnotes helped me understand alot of the things I couldn't which was a major plus. Definitely think everyone should give it a try.

I won this book as a good reads first reads winner.
