Taming the Tycoon by Amy Andrews is another fabulous little kindle bargain that I took a chance on and ended up loving to bits.
Nathaniel Montgomery is a driven workaholic property developer, his plans to bulldoze St Agnes's Victorian rose garden to build expensive property on will finally take him to billionaire status but is met with fierce local opposition. Whilst addressing a rowdy community forum/protest Nate finds himself handcuffed (fluffy pink handcuffs of course) to one of the "tree hugg...more

This was such a heartwarming, feel-good story! I'm so glad I read it. Addie is desperately trying to save a garden. A garden that gave her hope during the dark time she spent in the hospital battling leukemia. Nathaniel has set goals for his life and he is about to achieve them with the next business adventure that involves bulldozing a garden that a bunch of peace and love hippies are desperately trying to protect. But one of those hippies caught is eye right away and though she was not his typ...more

Taming the Tycoon is a beautiful contemporary romance. It was a short read and I was able to read it in a day. If you like to read about characters that are total opposites that have a connection then you will enjoy Addie and Nate’s story. I was addicted to it early on and hoped that they could get past their differences.

Taming the Tycoon is completely quirky. Addie is a totally different kind of character, full of little eccentricities that had me laughing throughout. She has a different view on life, something that is due to being close to death just a few years before, but also something that is her as well. Even if stuff got in the way before her brush with death, it's also very much just Addie. She cracked me up, both when she was around Nathaniel and on her own. She's flirty and fun in a different sort of...more
Loved this book! I thought it was very adorable.
The story was fresh in my eyes. Real estate tycoon Nathaniel Montgomery is a workaholic. He has made a promise to his father while he was on his deathbed and he intends to keep it. He's careful and controlled and he doesn't do relationships. He has his sights set on his last major deal to get his first billion, but he has one problem. A protest group trying to save a 200 year old rose garden... and now Addie Collins. He meets her in a very unconven...more

Fucking AWESOME!! This book was a pleasure to read. I can't tell you how amazing it is. You have to read it. I actually think its better than The Marriage Bargain (I never thought that could happen!). I laughed. I cried. I became obsessed with the Kindle percentage figure at the bottom of the page. I did not want this to end.
I would love love love to see a an epilogue. I am desperate to know how Nate and Addie are doing. I know for a fact I am not ready to let...more

I absolutely love it when I stumble across a book I've never heard of by an author unknown to me, and it turns out to be great. Well, I am really happy now, because this happened when I read Taming the Tycoon. It was a quick, thoroughly enjoyable read, and the love scenes nearly set my Kindle on fire! The best thing, though, was the price ($2.99 at Amazon). You can't go wrong with a fantastic book that costs next to nothing, in my opinion.

I loved the depth and variety of characters Amy Andrews creates in this book, a loving mix of flawed, vulnerable and downright quirky. Her secondary characters are delightful and real too, and I now want to visit that alpaca farm to meet Nate's family. Opposites attract, although the h/h aren't absolutely opposite as we discover when we learn Addie's background. She's been in Nate's shoes and understands him better than he knows himself. Now, having found her 'centre'and living on her boat and w...more
HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!! Just so well written. Steamy parts were very steamy, but it was about so much more than just the sex. I adored everything about Addie. I loved her stark contrast to Nate. All the characters were so well defined. I loved the way Nate came around slowly, it wasn't an instant evolution. He couldn't fight his attraction to Addie . I loved the fact that they were opposites, yet had so much in common. The way they met hooked me from chapter one. The playfulness was so fun....more
Remember the song by Paula Abdul "Opposites Attrack" well that is definitely the theme song for this book.
The author brilliantly took Mr business bigshot Nate and happy go lucky Addie and brought them together with a fun, fresh tale of romance found in the last place we expect. The author as a unique writing style and lets the reader truly experience every emotion and to me it felt like I was part of the books "heartbeat".

I Got a copy from Net Galley a couple of days ago, I was reading an intense book and Taming the Tycoon just landed at the right time.
I needed this witty, fun light spirit story, it was such and easy breezy read couldn't put it down and loved and enjoy every second of it. Abbie was just a fun character and a breeze of fresh air for me and ofcourse for Nate, her view of life was eye opener and how could ever prevented falling for her. And the smutty scenes uff so good!

This was an emotional rollercoaster of a ride. I cried like a baby, laughed like a loon and grinned like crazy. My husband was cracking up at me by the time I finished the book. He loves watching me read. I get so into the books that I show whether it’s a good or bad part all over my face.
I really didn’t want to like Nate. He was an ass and as Addie pointed out to herself, he was taking, taking, taking and never gave her anything. He was such an ass too, acting like he was so much better than he...more

I loved the book a lot. Nate is ambitious but does not know the true meaning of life. Addie used to be a work alcoholic but was nearly died after cancer and lives her life holistically. Nate wants to tear down an old rose garden to finally make a billion but that garden was Addie's sanctuary during her cancer battle and can't see it destroyed. Addie tries almost every thing to convince Nate to not destroy it but he can't see the forest steering at a tree.

Fast paced, steamy and lots of fun!
Addie's mission is to save the rose garden that helped her through her cancer battle. Her second mission is to save uptight Nate Montgomery - the man who plans to bulldoze the garden!
When Addie's first mission ends up with an injured Nate she offers to help him. After all it was her handcuffs that caused it. She agrees to act as fake girlfriend and decides Nate needs more of her help. Addie knows all too well that life should be enjoyed and is dete...more

Nothing prepared Nathaniel for that day he was about to have. Nor had it prepared him for the woman who was going to enter his life and turn it completely upside down. Addie isn’t like anyone he’s ever met, she’s smart, gorgeous and trying to thwart his efforts to take over some property he’s determined to have.
When an accident sends Nate to the hospital, Addie feels responsible and tries to repay the debt by helping Nate. What neither of them realizes is how this will change everything. Nate is...more

I beg your pardon, I never promised you a Rose Garden... Certainly Nate Montgomery has no intention of promising anything so romantic to the women in his life. The uptight tycoon has a plan to be a billionaire, and it doesn't involve frivolity, romance or getting leg shackled.
Which makes it all the more surprising when the shackles that end up on his wrist are pink and fluffy. And the person in the other cuff is Addy, a tree hugging hippy chick who obviously doesn't know the meaning of work or e...more

Had trouble with this one - mostly the way the hero and heroine act so familiar with each other from the very start. They have to pretend to be dating (and that seemed really rushed..I wish that had played out longer) and they pretend reallllly well. You would think they would have more road bumps at the beginning. Just too..perfect.
