This series just keeps getting better and that's saying something because it was pretty damn AWESOME from the start!!! I LOVE reading the progression of Nick and Sam's relationship. I LOVE reading about all my other favorite characters and how their relationships are progressing also. Freddie & Elin, Gonzo & Christina, Jeannie & Michael, Terry & Lindsey , Tinker Bell, Skip & Celia, Scotty, Tyrone, Harry..Oh...Harry he needs a woman!! and Avery...Oh...Avery needs a woman too a...more

I love this series and eagerly await the release of the next installment. A series that focuses/concentrates on one romantic couple is not usually my thing, but quite a few friends (including some who have never steered me wrong) here on GR's started posting amazing reviews about the first one Fatal Affair. Their reviews and comments praised both the book and the author all the way so I took the plunge…..Once I started reading it I was hooked and have continued to read and love every...more

I absolutely love this series by Marie Force and in fact when I stumbled upon the story of Sam and Nick I read all five ½ books in one week! What a great story she has woven around D.C. police Lieutenant Sam Holland and her now husband Senator Nick Cappuano. The play-by-play between the two of them just keeps getting hotter and hotter. Nick is the ultimate man; hot, sexy, sensitive and strong and Sam is his equal in all ways. The story is full of twists and turns, suspense, off the charts sex an...more

Book 5 in the Fatal Series and I am jonesing for the next book to come out. Nick and Sam are hot in this book. As they are enjoying newlywed bliss learning more about each others likes and building their lives together.
The story line is as always awesome with the death of a very high ranking officials wife and a missing baby the plot is thick and Sam and her homicide team are knee deep in it, of course with the help of an FBI agent she would rather not have to deal with and who Nick thinks is i...more

I hardly ever write book reviews, so please bare with me.
Over the past few weeks I've read the entire Fatal series for the first time, all 6 books. Let's just say I fell in love.
Marie Force's writing is astounding. I hardly have any quips about it. The characters she created were wonderful and relatable. Sam Holland and Nick Cappuano are amazing characters along with their large network of family and friends. There's a great character dynamic going on between all of them. This fantastic series just keeps getting better!
Believe it or not, I did not want to read this series even though I LOVE Marie Force. I have always wanted a HEA for every couple at the end of each book in a series, the FATAL series is not like that, the series is about Samantha and Nick and their relationship. Earlier in the summer, I introduced my Momma to Ms. Force’s books and she bought them all, the last series she bought was the...more

I've had mixed feelings about Marie Force's contemporaries (albeit I haven't yet started on her much-beloved McCarthys of Gansett Island series)... but I absolutely love her entire romantic suspense Fatal series. Featuring the same couple in a series of books can be a risky proposition (unless you're Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb and that couple is Eve & Roarke), since--much as it is on television-- it is easy for the plots to become either repetitive or increasingly far-fetched and the charact...more

Marie Force has done it again with Fatal Deception. D.C.’s favorite power couple is back and so are their friends. I loved this book! Sam is once again trying to solve a high profile case while Nick is running for the Senate all while there is the usual craziness in their personal life (including a visit from Scotty, who I love and want to see more of). A cold case from a previous book heats up and causes conflict between Sam and her dad. Romance is spreading among Nick & Sam’s friends and t...more
This is the fifth installation in the Fatal Series and it continues from where it ended in the fourth book. Sam is happily married to Senator Nick and she is well received in her role as the wife of a senator. However, the existence of Avery Hill. Sam’s colleague has created some conflicts between Nick and Sam as Avery is not able to conceal his true feeling for Sam and its showed whenever he is in her company. As for the case that Sam is involved in this book, Sam is dealing with a murder of a...more
In preparation for the release of this fifth novel in The Fatal Series I re-read the other four (plus the novella) last week. The two books I had previously rated four stars were upped to five, and if it were possible I would rate Fatal Deception even higher! While reading it I chuckled, laughed, and even snorted a few times. The banter between Sam and her detectives was beyond clever. And then there is the chemistry between Sam and Nick. I would go so far as to say they are one of my absolute f...more

Once again Marie Force has given readers a well-crafted romantic suspense in the latest addition to her top-notch "Fatal" series. A perfect combination of love, passion and suspense!
The devotion between Sam and Nick continues to grow stronger and the romance only gets more creative and steamier. It's downright swoon-worthy. The chemistry and banter that goes on between Sam and Nick is nothing less than genius. MF continues to develop the depth in her main characters, as well as in the secondary...more

If you haven't read any of the Fatal Series, you are missing on hell of a series. Each book is an absolute thrill ride with not only whatever investigation Sam and her faithful fellow police officers, but also the emotional journey she takes with Senator Nick Cappuano.

Like reading this series, although I'm reading them out of order I know I can just pick one up and be brought up to date without giving up all the details of the previous books.
Victoria is dead and her child is missing. Her husband is just devastated. As Sam and Nick and many others try to solve what has happened Sam walks into a robbery and ends up at
the hospital. While she's briefed from others as to what leads they've found she figures out other things on her own...more

Sam&Nick are growing on me! ;) They are really wonderful and this series is getting better and better everytime. I still feel the need for comparison with another much-loved couple of me, Eve&Roarke, because of the similiarities between the 2 settings, both Eve and Sam work in law enforcement and their husbands are super-hot and VIP (in this last story Nick is going for vice-presidence... ).
But Sam&Nick are wonderful for themselves and so I loved them and I'm glad to see their relati...more

From the moment I picked up the first in the Fatal series – Fatal Affair – for free, I’ve been OBSESSED with Force and the Fatal series. I went and purchased books 2 – 5 over the course of a weekend, and am SO glad I found this series. For those of you who have not yet read or started this series, Fatal Affair will be free from all ebook retailers until December 31st. Go out and get your copy now!

Fatal Fans are in for a TREAT!! Fatal Deception sizzles!
For me, Fatal books are one's to savor. Even if I get an ARC, I still wait because once I finish it, that's it for a while, I'm done. So I like to take my time, read slow and really ENJOY the time I get to spend with Sam, Nick and the whole Fatal crew. Yes, it did only take me a day to read this last installment, but every hour was soooooo worth the wait.

I have read all Marie Force books and never once been disappointed. She is an amazing writer and has the ability to suck you into one of her books from the first page. Fatal Deception was an excellent read and I had no idea "who'd done it" until towards the end when the case started falling in to place for Sam. Just totally love Nick and Sam and they certainly heated up in the bedroom - oh boy!! I really hope we're going to hear more from Agent Hill, totally love him, and hope he gets more time,...more
What a great book! I have been a fan of this series from early on and this installment was a continuation of the goodness.
I love the dynamic that Sam and Nick share. They are head over heels in love and are more bonded than most due to all they have been through in their realatively short time together. The way they work together both at home and at the office (when necessary) is wonderful.

This was another great installment in Marie Force's Fatal Series, which has quickly become one of my favorites. I love the main characters, Sam and Nick, and really enjoy reading about their married life. This book had just the right blend of suspense and romance for me, and I was engrossed from cover to cover. I can't wait for the next book!

I found Marie Force by mistake and it was the best mistake I have ever made. I have fallen in love with her books, but her Fatal Series is just the right mix of suspense and romance. I love that she has created a world in which I feel as though I can turn on the TV and actually see Nick and Sam.

These books are addictive. The characters are likeable, and enough side characters have been added that the story does not get too predictable or boring. The series reminds me a lot of the Stephanie Plum novels. They are a fun entertaining read.
One observation I have noticed in this series is that the level of sexual heat has increased dramatically. I suspect it has to do with the Grey's phenomenon, especially after looking at the publication dates of the first 5 books. I personally love it, bu...more

I rarely rate every book of a series with all 5 stars. I absolutely LOVED them all. They made me laugh and cry and sit on the edge of my seat with every threat made to Sam and Nick.
The not figuring out the who right away in these books was a first for me and I was on edge waiting to find out and then the why of it all.
I truly to recommend these books and I'm sad that I have read the last book to date.

I think this was probably my favorite book in the series. With Sam and Nick settling down and learning to live together as a couple, we see the give and take in their relationship. We see Sam struggle to be a boss and a friend to her detectives. We see some of the supporting characters struggling with their private lives, as the cross pollination continues.
We get a deeper look in to Sam's relationship with her Dad and siblings, as well as the groundwork for an eventual confrontation with Sam and...more

Marie has done it again, she’s written another great exciting chapters in the lives of Sam and Nick that had me forgoing breakfast until the end of this fantastic read. I love watching the steps Sam takes to unravel and bring justice for the victim and at the same time handle the command of her squad and her overlapping personal life. A great read that is well done and very enjoyable. I love this series and I can’t wait to read Fatal Mistake.
Loved this latest book by Marie Force. The case was very believable with a variety of characters mixed in that kept you guessing till the end. Sam's struggle with infertility tugged at my heart strings and while I haven't experienced myself, I know people who have. Fits what I've heard from them and hope that Sam gets to have her baby with Nick in future books. Very much looking forward to the next book in this series.
Awww, this latest book was so good. I loved everything about it, especially Scotty.
Sam and Nick get better and better, I know it sounds impossible, but I just love them.
I love how Gonzo and Freddie are happy, they are just awesome and deserve that and much more.
One of the things I love about this series is that there is always more than a few stories going on, they are all well written and at least to me, none of them are boring.
