This book starts up after the ending of Crash (book #1) with Jude and Lucy attending college. Jude being the superstar football player has been assigned a “Spirit Sister” Adriane (aka sheb*tchfromhell) who wants nothing more than to steal Jude away for her very own at any and all costs. Eeeeepp!! This consequently (and understandably) made Lucy feel more and more insecure around her relationship with Jude (considering his man-whoring past) and leads to a lot drama around them learning to trust each other.

“You’re all I’ve got, Luce. I’ll do anything not to lose you.”

I have to say I HATED Adriane from the moment her name hit the page. I really haven’t hated a character this much in a long while. And I gotta admit, I totally sympathized with Lucy’s insecurities at first – the thought of another girl determined to get Jude just made my blood boil… and its not like Lucy knew she was a character in a book and destined for a HEA lol. In her eyes, she didn’t know what to think and was just working with the facts in front of her… I’m pretty sure it would make me worried too in her shoes.

I was really torn with who to side with… I think in the end, they were both equally to blame for the issues, and both equally to commend for fixing things. Overall I actually sympethized with them both. For the first while I sided with Lucy… Despite being utterly devoted to her, Jude did do several things that I don’t think he should have with whole Adriane thing which made me totally get why she was being insecure. Then for a while, I sided with Jude because I felt Lucy went over-the-top with her reactions to the conclusions she drew. But at the same time, she had pretty good reason to come to those conclusions…and poor Jude is there and he’s just so messed up and yet trying so freaking hard to do the right thing but at the same time, and yet some of his actions were just really hypocritical….. hmmm I could go on and on… basically: Holy Emotional Rollercoaster!!

“Life isn’t perfect, we sure as shit arent perfect, so why should we expect love to be?“

The book was a fair bit shorter than Crash though so none of the frustrations were too long and drawn out – making them quite bearable. And it helped that by the end, all the issues that came up in the book were completely resolved.

And I absolutely loved the ending!! It was really sweet and the author tied it right in beautifully with the beginning of Crash making the story kind of come full circle. I thought that was pretty perfect

This book is basically YA but with sex (very subtle descriptions).(less)

3.75 Stars... Just finished Clash and I'm already missing Jude and Lucy! I guess that would be a sign of a good story...

This was a well written sequel and I did thorougly enjoy the ride. I read it in one sitting.

The reason for 4 stars and not 5 stars is because it was excruciating for this Jude fan to read how repeatedly Lucy pushes him away. I shed tears for him being so in love and witnessing him being crushed was hearbreaking for me. Don't think I could ever turn my back on him in a million years!

My wish for their future is that Lucy never ever walk...more

I realise I’m going to be in the minority with this one, but this book just didn’t work for me. I was so excited when I knew we were getting another chance to read about Jude and Lucy. After all they went through in Crash, I was excited to actually see them put the past behind them and be in a relationship... or so I thought!

I give this 4.5 stars. I know some people thought Lucy wasn't written very well in this book. Once I read it all the way through I was agreeing and disagreeing with that. Lucy and Jude are in college, not at the same one but close enough that they see each other every weekend.

Jude is doing everything in his power to make things perfect. He wants to be perfect, for Lucy. He wants to be worthy of her. His past sins haunt him and all he wants is Lucy to never leave him. Lucy means life to him. She is every breath he takes. You would think this is unhealthy but this is his way of survival.

Lucy knows that with Jude being the QB of Syracuse she will have to fight off every and all females. One in particular, Adrianna. She is his spirit sister that tends to his every need. Does that mean sex too? Lucy says she loves Jude and trusts him but she gets the niggling doubt to take hold and it turns her into a possessive overbearing girlfriend. I would too if I had a man like Jude.

This one girl that Jude swears up and down that he doesn’t want gets into their perfect yet not perfect relationship. And before you know it that roller coaster ride that they call their relationship freefalls and the two of them are left grasping their stomachs so they don’t hurl all over the place.

One of the sweetest scenes was Danny told Lucy that he thought Jude was a superhero and that he was going to marry a beautiful girl and have super babies. This couldn’t have come up at a better time. Just when you think Jude and Lucy are no more, an unknown force pulls them together to tell them that they are truly meant to be together. But Lucy still has doubts and when she leaves Jude the last time to find herself it takes only simple words for her to realize what a huge mistake she’d made. She loves him.

Relationships are hard. Its not just happy go lucky. It takes lots of work and you have to give and take to make it last. And yes Jude and Lucy Clash but through all the ups and downs they find small bursts of peace that puts their hearts at ease.

I was BEYOND excited to learn Nicole Williams was releasing Clash September 1. As soon as I woke up I downloaded the book on Amazon and read the novel in 6 straight hours staying in bed all day. I love Jude and Lucy together and Crash was one of my favorite summer reads. I could not wait to find out what the two are up to now in college and also 5 hours apart.

Jude has changed, but relatively he's the same. He's toned down his anger, and is trying more on the "think before you act" approach. He's trying. That was one good point.
Lucy, on the other hand, was the same doubtful immature girl who would say one thing and do another. After a certain event that involved the "spirit sister on the cheer squad who's attached herself to Jude in just about every way a girl could", she's pissed off. With good reason, really. But Jude tells her to trust him, to believe him. He's on his knees begging for fucks sake. She doesn't, of course.
She went through book one doubting and not trusting him, planting the blame on him, and she's done it again this time.
She has no trust in him whatsoever. She'll love him, then leave him.
I honestly disliked her character a lot in the book. It was just really immature of her to act the way she did.

Another thing that bothered me was the actually possibility of there being another plot besides their love problem, and it not happening. There really was no resolution to the whole "My dad shot your brother" deal, and it was approached in this book, but it just dropped dead. This book is nothing but their love trials, and although that's good for some, the events that's happened in their pasts could have made an actual story line, and something to look forward to.
But no, all we get is a girl who runs away from everything, believing everyone else to be at fault, and a guy who's practically miserable the majority of the book.

There were minor characters in the book, and besides Thomas (who only got about 5 lines in this book but still seemed to be the most sane of them all), they were all depicted as sexy-driven maniacs. Characters that had potential, again, were shot down because of the incessant noting that they 1) Love beer 2) Love sex 3) Party like there's no tomorrow & 4) Slut it up everywhere they go.

Ugh. I just hate it when books can gain potential and it's just killed.(less)

After the rollercoaster of drama these two went through in Crash, you would think things would have settled down between these two. Yeah, not so much. They both still have a lot of growing up to do to make this relationship work. Lucy has become insecure with her relationship with Jude after a cheerleader named Adriana Vix has started to show Jude a lot of unwanted attention. She has made her intentions clear to Lucy that she will be with Jude and will do anything and everything to get him. And Lucy has decided she is not going to let this vindictive bitch take her man away from her. Let the cat fights begin.

Phew. Jealousy can be consuming when it raises its ugly head. Lucy is usually very level headed but has begun to doubt herself and her relationship. And in return, this causes her to act irrationally *coughcatfightcough* (best scene ever!) and question her relationship with Jude. After witnessing something that could tear her and Jude a part forever, Lucy decides she needs a break.

Jude is crazy in love with Lucy. She is all the family he has. He wants her forever and when Lucy decides she needs a break, it crushes him. But, he loves her enough to never give up on her.

“I’ll be here when you’re ready. No matter how long it takes. I’ll always be here, Luce. I’m yours,” he breathed, squeezing my hands, “forever.”

I absolutely adore Jude and Lucy. Their relationship is not easy. They both think with their emotions and their hearts which is why they tend to yell instead of talk things out. They are a hot mess but they love each other deeply and passionately. But can they survive each other? They fight, make-up, fight, make-up. With so many doubts swirling through Lucy's head, she's unable to process how to make it work with Jude. Sometimes a little bit of motherly TLC and advice is all you need to clear your head and see what truly matters.

“Love isn’t only love, sweetheart. It’s hard work, and trust, and tears, with even a few glimpses of devastation. But at the end of each day, if you can still look at the person at your side and can’t imagine anyone else you’d rather have there, the pain and heartache and the ups and downs of love are worth it.”

This is Jude and Lucy's story. It's an emotional rollercoaster ride that's full of laughter, happiness, love, sadness, fighting, and pain. This is the kind of love most little girls dream to have but it’s the kind of love that can hurt the most. But when you love someone so much that you can’t live without them, it’s worth fighting for.

I'm giving this one 3.5 stars. I really loved the first book, Crash, but had some problems with this one. I thought that the sequel was going to help me come to terms with those feelings. So if you don't want to know too much, then don't read this review until after you finish the book.

I know that the nature of Jude and Lucy's relationship was tumultuous, to say the least, but I wasn't prepared for the complete and utter idiot, that Lucy was going to become. I know that it cannot be easy for anyone to be in a relationship with someone as popular and good looking as Jude... but the boy is CLEARLY in love with his girl... anyone can see that. And I know he has his issues, how could he not, coming from the background, but clearly he's trying.

What is Lucy's excuse? Other than the fact that she acts like a complete moron!!!!! I understand her walking out after the Adriana thing, it did look bad after all. But once she knew the truth... honestly, what was her problem. I was almost hoping he would tell her to forget it after a while. And what was that cat fight?!!!! I was not happy with this. Nothing like lowering yourself to such an idiotic level, that your reputation can never be redeemed!!! I just got disgusted at this point. Her indecision was maddening!!!!! He more than earned her trust, if you ask me. I know he still had some issues, but she knew how he felt about her. And her leaving the hospital without saying goodbye.... WHAT WAS THAT!!!!!!! I was just wanted to wring her neck!!!!

I had a totally different feeling about the characters in this book. I was more supportive of Lucy in the first book. She seemed more mature, and able to handle the difficulties of their relationship, whereas Jude was all over the place. Now, with this book, it seems that opposite has occurred. Jude seems to be the one with his head on straight, and Lucy just acts like a whiny jealous idiot.

I was finally appeased with the ending, but only because by the grace of God, Jude found it in his heart to take her back. (even though I didn't think she deserved it!) I wanted so much to like this book more, but found it left me annoyed each time I put it down. Lucy could have been a much better person, a much better character. I was let down by her immature decisions, and indecisive behavior. I wanted her to be more deserving of the love and loyalty she received from Jude..... When a guy gets down on one knee in front of an entire stadium of people to propose to you, you don't say "WHY NOT!!!!!" Bad answer. Ok.. I'm done ranting now. Who knows maybe I'll like it better after I get over my initial reaction. :) I may even bump it up to 4 stars because I loved Jude so much!!! (less)

I read this book non-stop over a couple of hours unable to put it down, but not because I was loving it, but because I couldn't believe how much a character could annoy me. Lucy drove me nuts in this book. Thankfully, it didn't stop me from needing to know what was going to happen. Jude stole my heart in the first book and he didn't let it go at all in this one.

Why I Liked It:

If you have seen my review to book one of this series then you have probably noticed that I have given it a lower rating. My reason for that is this, a couple can only handle so much and go through so many fights/rejections before even the reader is convinced they should not be together. Personally, I don't think Lucy is worthy of Jude any more, and that is saying something considering Jude used to be one hell of a mess. He has made some serious changes to better himself so that he could be worthy of Lucy. He still has his faults, he in not perfect, the man is difficult to deal with, but Lucy needs to get her shit together. She needs to decide if she is going to fight along with Jude and the two of them be together, or if she is going to walk away. Frankly, the whole coming in and out of Jude's life is making me royally pissed at her. Jude is so freaking in love with her that he is just dealing with it, his heart is breaking, but he deals.

I will admit, what Jude did to set Lucy on this really annoying want-to-smack-her-in-the-face breakdown was bad. I would have reacted the same way she did at first, but now I am just mad. I am actually typing this review right now without having finished the book, I am curently 87% in and she is about to walk away from Jude, again!! I would tell you more about why this time is setting me over the edge but I can't because that would be a bit of a spoiler. Let me just say that Jude is in a weak state right now, he needs her to be there with him more than anything and she is going to walk away!! I have never wanted to make a character physically form in front of me just so I could smack some sense into her!!

If Jude actually takes her back after this, and I am assuming that he does, because there is a third book in the series, then she better be kissing his ass till the end of time! Seriously, this girl is on my character shit list. I did not even have one until now. I suppose that is not true because this is not the first time a character has made me angry, but this is the first character that has kept me mad for an extended period of time. All the the others who have managed to anger me have always redeemed themselves.

Lucy is constantly going off on why they should not be together. Ok, but why? I mean she says "Jude and I shouldn't be together" a lot, but she never really elaborates on why. Is it because of the connection between Jude's father and her brother? Ok, well I can see how that could be a factor. My issue is that she never has any insight on why she is feeling the way she is feeling, she has just decided that this is how she is going to feel, period. Until she is going through her next Jude withdrawal. Then all of a sudden she is hit in the face with 'reality' and she is running again! Thank goodness her mom talks some sense into her some how.

That has got to be the smartest thing Lucy says in this entire book!! I don't even know what to say about her. I am so flustered with her.

Well, I made it. I finished the book. I didn't hate it, I had to take emotional breaks because I got so mad at Lucy, but at the same time I couldn't stop reading it! It's kind of like when you see a really bad crash, and you know looking is not really going to make you feel good, but curiosity wins out and you look anyways. That is how I feel about this book, I finished this book because curiosity got the best of me and I wanted to know how it ended. Most of all though, I wanted to know because of Jude. Jude is one hell of a man for making all the changes that he has made and then to also be one hell of a romantic. Darn you Lucy!! Wake the hell up!

I am not saying this is a bad book, quite the opposite, but I will say that this has probably been one of the most frustrating books to read through. I am already mad at book three. Here is the summary to the final book, CRUSH, in the Crash Series:

How much more can this couple struggle through? I am really hoping that they will find a way to work together through whatever it is they face in book three rather than just fight against each other all the time. They are supposed to take on the world together, not make problems for each other and then face them alone. I can tell you that I will be reading Clash though, I just can't look away from this train wreck of a couple.

I have to say....I was a little disappointed in this book. And Jude definitely saved it for me. I thought there were too many lows and not enough highs. Jude and Lucy were fighting more then they were happy....and nothing is better then when Jude and Lucy are "on". What happened to Lucy in this book?? She was SO insecure and gave up on Jude so easily. I really hope that this is not the last book in the series...while it did end happy I need more happy. And more Jude--YUM! :)
