Once again Violet Eden faces an impossible choice ... and the consequences are unimaginable.

Violet has come to terms with the fact that being part angel, part human, means her life will never be as it was.

Now Violet has something Phoenix - the exiled angel who betrayed her - will do anything for, and she has no intention of letting it fall into his hands. The only problem...more

Violet, a Grigori is now in vital danger. Well that sounds intersting doesn't it? Sounds a bit of a thriller mixed with angelic twists and turns. NO. Half the time Violet was just trusting her best friend Steph, Spence or Lincoln to get her out of a mess. I was sereiously pissed off at her. This heroine is a bit weak in the mind and honsetly needs to get her skills together if this book is going to be any better. Shirvington once again takes Griffin and his crew with him on the plane to somewher...more

Hi there!I assume you have read both 2 books already and you know what's going on. I would like to remind you that this is a personal opinion

I don't now how i can describe the series But i must assure you that the moment i started reading the first one i just couldn't stop couldn't pause I just H.A.D to continue reading all the books they released so far.

Once again the storyline and the word Jessica Shirvington created was once again really so capture that i wasn't able to take my eyes from the...more

Spence. I love this guy. Jessica Shirvington, please, please, PLEASE make a spin-off series with Spence. He so deserves his own book. I liked the little insight we got about is family (or lack of) albeit, it made me sad for him. If you could hug a fictional character, I'd smother him. His loyalty was relentless and every time that guy opens his mouth, I either gush or smile. 1 word - or 2. SPIN.OFF.

The guy is amazing.. and yes, he is my favourite. Apart from maybe Phoenix. Maybe the same. Which...more

Wow where 2 start with this book? I think I have a love-hate relationship with it. Sometimes it's compelling and shocking, other times it's cringe-worthy cheesiness and had me rolling my eyes constantly.

So Linc and Violet are soul mate partners. After what happened in book 2, they're resisting each other because they saw what could happen 2 them if they "joined" together. I mean when Rudyard died and Nyla was left like an empty broken shell, well who could blame them? But then...more
Dark Faerie Tales
Review courtesy of Dark Faerie Tales.

Quick & Dirty: This series is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Emblaze was so action packed, filled with steamy romance, forbidden love, and an amazing cast of characters. Once I started I couldn’t put the book down.

Opening Sentence: She didn’t have to see him to know he was there.

The Review:

Violet’s life has been a roller coaster ever since she found out she was a Grigori, which means that she is part angel and part human. She seems to attract exil...more

Favorite Quote(s):

"'Violet!' Lincoln said, then sighed. 'You don't love him. This isn't real. You know what's real and it's hard and it hurts and we can't...Damn it, Vi--we're real!'"

"'I love you so much that I can't trust myself. I'd die for you, give up all my power for you. I'd give you my soul in an instant, even if it meant I had to spend eternity in torment--just for one moment with you as mine.'"

Favorite Character: Lincoln. May I direct you to the quotes above?

Emblaze by Jessica Shirvington, the third book in The Violet Eden Chapters, picks up right where Entice leaves off. With only six months between releases, you’d think that I’d remember what happened in prior books better! But, for some reason, by the time a new book in this series is released, I can barely remember why Violet is so special, let alone the overarching plot. I really think having a list of major characters with their powers at the end of the book and a brief recap at the beginning...more

Author, Jessica Shirvington, has done it again with the third installment to The Violet Eden series. I could not tear my eyes away from this unforgettable follow up to Entice.

In Emblaze, we bear witness to the pain and torment that both Violet and Lincoln go through by denying what their souls want…to be able to finally be together. We painfully watch as these two lovebirds fight what is meant to be. It was heartbreaking to watch Violet yearn for the love she so wants from Lincoln, and it’s equa...more

When I read the first few chapters of Entice, I thought this series had alot of promise. And I did find it an enjoyable read- it was full of action that left me on the edge of my seat at times, and had some nice romance, but it just didn't live up to its full potential. *sigh*.

And now for a small rant in list form(with spoilers)....

-At the start of the book, the way the existence of light and dark angels, that are needed to balance eachother out, was explained, made me excitedly

I read all 3 books in 2days unable to put it down, the worst feeling in the world was when I finished it also like many readers sayin it was until October we would get another taste o this series :(
I am getting annoyed at the "can't be together" attitude but I have to say makes it more emotional.....
The walking away from each other, ignoring, trying to hide from one another, the little moments of joy then the ripping out of your heart... That's what love it, It reminds me of having a 1st crush...more

I don't know If I'm the only one here. But I love Phoenix- I have since book 1 and I will until the last one.
How can anyone blame him, he's lives patent less for god knows how many years and was judged and cast out before he said a word.
He's finally experienced- love- a completely knew unknown feeling and he has no clue what to do. He's fighting the darkness inside that he never asked for and struggles for control and he only wanted her to live him . But he has to stand there and feel the pers...more

With the scriptures in hand Violet has a terrible decision to make, hand over to Phoenix the instructions to opening the gates of Hell or risk the life of someone she cares for. But after the first failed attempt to hand over a dummy copy to Phoenix, Violet is not willing to risk anyone's life. So, with the scriptures now in Phoenix's possession Violet and her Grigori friends are now on their way to Greece to try to prevent the end of the world, but they don't go alone.

With her every move being...more

I'm a HUGE fan of the Violet Eden Chapters. A must read series! :D
Again I simply could not put this book down. Finished it in a few short Hours. :D

The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 (would'nt let me do 4.5) was, I thought it was missing the romance & passion we have all come to LOVE between Violet, Lincoln & even Phoenix. sure they talked about it, but NOTHING actually happened. :0( There was no amazingly HOT & Heavy kissing with anyone. Very dissapointing. :0( But as al...more

Thankyou Jessica for a read worth waiting for, just another twelve months till Endless.

Love the idea of finding out how Linc and Vi are developing emotionally, phsyically and through their souls with their Grigori power and human selves its interesting to read about but I love how its more focused on her life and her as a Grigori warrior not so much her love for Linc or Phoenix.

The climax when Vi is hanging on the edge and Linc admits all just had me fogging up my reading glasses and Spence gav...more

Violet Eden is once again in the middle of a war between exile angels and the half angel Grigori. After the losses from the battle that took place in book 2, the group is still reeling. Deaths, as well as separation are hard to get over, and add in the knowledge that Lincoln and Violet are soulmates but can never be together as they so strongly desire. Violet tries to distance herself from Lincoln, and puts her all into training with her Grigori friend Spence. She continuously gets stronger as w...more

Okay, this is the 3rd book already and it seems the 4th one will come out on September 2012 so 2 more months before I can read the next installment. And according to the author's website, she doesn't know if she will make this a part of 5 or 6 books or stick with the 4 book saga.

For my review on Emblaze, I still don't know if it arise because of the quality of the grammar etc or because of the writing style. It's so hard for me to actually finish this fast. I usually finish a book in one sitting...more

MY THOUGHTS
ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT

After coming to grips with her powers as a Grigori, Violet Eden must now save the world from evil, decide whether or not she needs a boyfriend, and still keep peace at home with her father who now decides to pay attention to her. She is again caught up in her triangle between Phoenix and Lincoln with some major consequences and although I can't rightly call this a love triangle any more , it does have some of those elements. Essentially, Lincoln has abandon her beca...more

Emblaze was a pretty great book for the purpose it was meant to serve for the story. In the end I found it to be my least favorite book in the series so far. It just felt like there was a lot lacking compared to the first two books. I usually tend to see that problem in long series though, you see a few books in the series that will drop off a little and then the next one will pick things back up. I do love this series though, and I will be continuing to read it.

The story just went a little o th...more

I was so excited to start Emblaze because I really enjoy this Violet Eden series. I love how each book keeps getting better and better in this series. I enjoyed Embrace but really enjoyed Entice more. Now, however, I think Emblaze is my new favorite in the series.

Violet keeps on developing more and more with each new book as well. She continues to deal with a lot ever since she learned she is part angel. She is a realistic character still to me though.

Then there is Lincoln and Phoenix. I have...more

OMG AMAZING!! I loved it. I started reading and did not put it down till I had finished (it literally never left my hands till I had finished it) I love Jessica Shirvingtons writing and these are the best books ever. Loved it!! I cannot believe I have to wait a whole year for the Endless!! The wait will be agonizing but I know it will be worth it. Fingers crossed Violet and Lincoln finally get their happily ever after :)

Phoenix is killing me a little bit. I spent two reviews saying how Lincoln shouldn't be with Vi at all and that how could you pass Phoenix up for him...then he goes and does all this! I am still not convinced that Lincoln and Vi are meant to be together, though we got perilously close to that happening in this book. I just can't see it, I really can't! I don't see how they can become this one amazing couple, it's like they don't complete each other. Where as, Phoenix and Vi make a better whole t...more

It was so good! I was gaping a lot like a fool while waiting for my flight in the airport! Was so glad I had a copy of Endless (the next book) in my nook. Thanks to Australia's Hachette group for publishing the book earlier in that part of the world! Lol.

The ending was just not the part that had me on the edge of my seat. The second half of the book was so full of action and fravity-defying scenes I can't almost cope up. The emotional struggles Violet, Lincoln, and even Phoenix was so intense..a...more

One of the most heart wrenching books I've read, this is the best installment of The Violet Eden Chapters yet.
The way Shirvington blends Biblical facts with a beautiful tale had me glued to the book till the very last page.
Following the events in Jordan, Violet is supported by her friends as they try to stop Phoenix from unleashing something terrible upon the world.
But through it all, Violet and Phoenix's connection makes them both falter in their moves and Lincoln must watch, unable to do anyth...more

I have to say this one of my favorite love triangles. As much as would like to hate Phoenix, he keeps doing stuff to make me want to like him. He is so infuriating! I can see why Violet has such a hard time not wanting him. At the same time, Violet and Lincoln’s relationship is frustrating. I so want them to be together and when I actually think they will be, something else happens to make them reign in their feelings and throw up barriers to keep each other out.
EMBLAZE was more emotional than t...more

Finally, I dedicated the time needed to read EMBLAZE - because once I delved into it, I knew I wouldn't be able to put it down unless absolutely necessary (e.g. getting yelled at by my boyfriend to get my nose out of the book for ten minutes so I could give the directions while he was driving). Jess - you have done such an amazing job with this series. The characters are so well rounded and work together beautifully, the plot gripping and smart, and the chemistry crackles. Vi's intelligence (and...more

Loved it. Absolutely loved it. Violet and Lincoln are so amazing, in every way imaginable and yet it kills me that they can't be together. The struggle they go through, to want each other so badly, and that Lincoln distances himself, is ugh!!! I swear, each book in the series just get's better and better. But aside from them, Violet and Spence's friendship has been great! Spence has really been there for her, and honestly, he is so lovable and hilarious. And Phoenix...well I'll always love him,...more

Oh dear lord.....I.....just wow.....I mean just..just wow, I uh maybe for a start need to sleep but uhh yeah umm......just wow. I just gonna say that when I was done I threw the book across the room and now the book has a little dent in it and I'm gonna come back in a bit to finish this review.
