Leverett Butts now runs and owns the town of Owen, Georgia--along with everyone in it. Emily's Stitches, the title piece in this stunning collection of stories and poems, accomplishes more in its 128 pages than most novels do in 300. For those of you who like stories with a Southern Edge, think Faulkner, Conroy and Siddons, this delightful novelette is for you. Each story is "stitched" together seamlessly. Looking forward to reading more by this author.

What I like about this book is that you can simply enjoy the distinctive writing as it is, if that’s what you enjoy about reading; or you can go deep, if that happens to be your thing. It really is a ...more
