Flynn (the main character) and I just didn't get along.

She started getting on my nerves from the start. She's been dating the sheriff, Bo, for ten years now, but keeps turning him down when he asks her to marry him. I find this behavior to be selfish in the extreme. He gives her an ultimatum in the first chapter -- marry me or break up -- that should probably have come years ago, but since he's not the romantic hero I could forgive him for his spinelessness in not forcing the issue sooner. Flyn

I’m pretty surprised by the amount of knitting plots found in contemporary romances lately. The latest in this trend is by Lori Wilde who has a new series for Avon. The first book, The Sweetheart’s Knitting Club takes place in the small town of Twilight, Texas. Ten years ago Jesse Calloway was arrested for cocaine and gun possession and sent to prison. He gets a reduced sentence for saving a fellow inmate and stopping a prison riot. He’s released and heads back to Twilight where the girl he left ...more

Jesse Calloway, has spent the past ten years in prison, for a crime he didn't commit. When he saved a kid and prevented a prison riot, he was granted release two years early. Jesse already has a plan...go back and and get justice, and the find the one woman who has always held his heart...Flynn MacGregor. Flynn, has always had a secret love for Jesse, but has never had hope to make a future with him. She has just accepted the proposal of the chief of police, one who she has dated since high scho ...more

(May contain a spoiler) Wow - I really liked this book. Good characters, sense of place, life situations, etc. One woman has two guys fighting for her - one good guy, one bad boy. This is the case where the bad-boy is good while the good guy does some underhanded things to win the heroine's affections. Very well played out.

If this is part of a series, sign me up to read the next one!

The one star is for the sweet ending. The knitting club ladies had seemed like just a bunch of gossips but in the end they showed that they were very sweet to keep Flynn's secret a secret.

As for the antagonists. ..Flynn tries too hard to come across as a strong woman holding it all tog. but when it comes to her love life she's a total wimp. Fact is she has been two-timing Beau since high school! Beau is pretty twisted but having caught Jesse and Flynn I was surprised he did not kill them both :

I had trouble getting on board with the heroine. Although she's portrayed as being a selfless individual, at time this selflessness seemed to stem more from arrogance than anything else. The hero forgave her for too much too fast for me and the ending of the book felt rushed. However, I do love the hero, the bad boy who isn't what he seems. I loved the tension between him and the town sheriff. I felt at times (particularly in the first half of the book) that the focus of the story was more to do ...more

I started reading this knitting-themed romance novel the other day, but only made it a few chapters in because the premise was just insupportable! See, the heroine is trying to keep her late mother’s dreams alive by hosting the knitting club she founded & opening a yarn store. But the “twist” is this: she can’t knit at all, and her sister is her “stunt knitter.”

WHAT. There is no way that the other members wouldn’t find it weird that she is never actually seen actively knitting in their prese

I spent a lot of time laughing at the wrong parts, which means it's probably time to switch authors.

This book carried some disturbing echoes about what some of my high-flying friends' relationships were like. Have been like. Really in some ways the most interesting, underexplored character was the conflicted villain, Beau. His POV was appreciated, if roughly handled. Funny how some types never "grow up."

I've enjoyed Wilde's narrative experiments, but I think one more book (or maybe two, dependin

This was cute, but I can't say it was a fantastic romance. I've certainly read better from Wilde before. And I really thought there would be more knitting involved in it.

Flynn has always taken a backseat to everyone else in her life. Her father, with his drinking problems, her siblings, who she's raised ever since her mother was diagnosed with an incurable disease, and even her knitting club, where she only pretends to know how to knit and instead spends the time playing hostess to the ladies w

Nice, contemporary romance set in a fictitious small town in Texas. Because it is the start to a series, we are introduced to all the quirky towns people and told their history. Flynn is the heart and soul of the town. She has taken care of her family after her mother died and her father was an alcoholic. She takes care of everyone. She hold a monthly knitting group at her house even though she can't knit and she has plans to open a knitting store all because this was what her mother wanted for ...more

My Thoughts: I have read a few of Lori's previous work and loved them so when I heard about this one, I knew I had to read it as soon as it was released. We meet Flynn who is an all around good nice girl who always puts everyone else first because she cares about people. She has turned down the sheriff's marriage proposal 4 times now because she still has a soft spot in her heart for another man (even though she tells herself this isn't why). Its been 10 years and as soon as she lays eyes on Jes ...more

3.5'tan 4.

Konusundan bahsedecek olursam... Jesse iftiralar yüzünden 10 yıl boyunca hapis yatan, Twilight kasabasının kötü çocuğu. 16 yaşında annesi uyuşturucudan ölünce teyzesi Patsy onu yanına almış ve Jesse onunla

The Sweethearts' Knitting Club is Lori Wilde's debut novel for the Twilight series. Tenderly woven in the story are elements of young, true and unrequited love, a love shared by Twilight's sweethearts Jesse Calloway and Flynn MacGregor.

The love that started with such promise is fractured when Jesse is arrested, convicted, imprisoned, and ultimately separated from Flynn. Despite the passing of time - ten years, their love quietly simmers and lingers staying true to its unrequited nature. In the s

I found this book series on a whim, on my Nook. I figured, why not. They were super cheap and sounded pretty okay. Definitely something out of the ordinary for me, so I just went for it. I have to say, that I was totally surprised to find that I actually enjoyed this book. At first I was worried that it would be all about knitting and that quickly changed, right into the first chapter.

Jesse Calloway, who was named after famous outlaw, Jesse James, is an outlaw himself. Being sent to prison for 1

The Sweethearts' Knitting Club by Lori Wilde is the story of love and redemption in a small Texas town.

I liked this one. And I'll be continuing this series. However, Flynn did bother me a little bit in the way she didn't stand by Jesse when she should have. (At the town meeting I wanted to throw the book across the room! OMG!!) And I thought that Jesse gave Flynn too many chances, but then, he loved her. And well, I guess he had to forgive her, eventually. So there's that. :D

Beau was a jerk and I wish we had more info on what happened to him, given what is discovered about him in the bo

This book needed a completely different title, it had very little to do with knitting or the knitting club until the very end of the book.

I hate it when you get sucked into a story and the author introduces characters and gives you background information about that person but then never follows through with the rest of the story. For example, in this book, the authro intorudces you to an aunt and the local EMT. You learn a bit of their backgrounds and then it goes nowhere. They are just backgro

Jesse'ye aşık olacaksınız kesinlikle.Böyle bir erkek varmıdır acaba dünyada.Düşünceli sevgi dolu romantik ve ne yaparsanız yapın hiç kızmayan bütün hatalarını affeden bir erkek.

Flynn'a ise kesinlikle sinir olacaksınız.Jesse Flynn'ı ne kadar tanıyorsa Flynn'da Jesseyi o kadar tanımıyor.Jesse'nin suçsuz olduğuna inanacağına tam tersi davranıyor.İnsan sevdiğinin neyi

My first Lori Wilde romance and I will definitely visit Twilight, Texas to learn about some of the other town folks and their romances. The age old theme of the good girl and the bad boy is wonderfully told with twists and turns and the happy ending. This book was everything that makes small town romances so much fun to read.

I have to say i was disappointed. I think the biggest problem was i just didn't like the heroine. I couldn't understand why she persisted with the thoughts and feelings she persisted with and this left me asking why the hero, Jessie, would put up with her? Because I couldn't connect with Flynn, I did not feel emotionally involved in the story and found it to be melodramatic and over done, particularly the chemistry that the author tried to create but in my opinion failed to generate. The sex sce ...more

I love when a mish-mash of people come together to do something they enjoy, in this case knitting and gossiping of course. This group of ladies have their own quirks, problems and secret fantasies, well at least one has. Flynn is still carrying a torch for her high school sweetheart who happens to be a bad boy. But this boy, man now, has his own problems to deal with and wants to bring the person responsible for his years in prison to justice.

It was a fast paced story, it had funny moments and s

This book was ok. Predictable. I was hoping for more knitting and relationships between the knitters but it was more between the main character and the two men, but that was ok too. The negative was it was too graphic in places. I was not offended but I did not care to read about it.

Lori Wilde can’t remember a time when she didn’t want to write. She even went to nursing school so she could have a schedule flexible enough to allow her to write on the side. She nursed for 20 years, working in a variety of settings from the newborn nursery to the recovery room, to dialysis. But she never lost her desire to write.

She sold her first book in 1994 to Silhouette Romance but later dis
