First Responders, Book 3

The last person firefighter Chris Jackson expects to rescue from a burning animal shelter is Ally Gallant—his ex-fiancée. Even though three years have passed since she gave him back his ring, one look at her frightened face in the haze of a smoky building is all it takes for him to realize he’ll still do anything to protect her.

This is a great story. The conflict had me guessing how this couple would ever get back together. It has some steamy scenes and a satisfying HEA.

Into The Fire was my favourite story in the first 3 books that I've read that are part of Donna Alward's First Responder series and the one I think where the author really hit her stride.

It sure opened dramatically enough with Chris rescuing his ex-fiancé Ally from her animal shelter which has mysteriously gone up in flames trapping her and several animals under her care inside. I love when a book starts on a high note and this one certainly did. I liked that the fire was the catalyst that got

I have to admit that I didn’t read the other books in this series, but I loved this one! It truly works as a stand alone, but I think I will read the rest of this series. I could totally understand why Ally was so insecure in what she wants out of life. I’ve been her. That girl that doesn’t see her self as good, because she listened a little too hard to a joke someone has said.

Chris Jackson is a sexy firefighter with a big heart. He liv

Where there’s smoke there’s fire and Ally is about to learn that the hard way.

Ally Gallant is devastated when fire claims the animal shelter she’s spent three years growing. When old flame, Chris Jackson pulls her from the burning building, she has no idea their passion will reignite with a vengeance. But the past has dark memories and fears not so easily extinguished. Being with Chris will rekindle more than just fiery passion. Is he worth the risk?

Chris Jackson can’t believe his eyes when he r

Chris Jackson arrives at the scene of a fire to find his ex-fiancé Ally Gallant trying to save the animals in her shelter. Every emotion he had for her comes rushing back in an instant and has him torn between walking away or trying again with the only woman he ever loved. As a tender moment reveals both still have strong feelings for one another, they both realize they have misjudged one another. Ally though has reservations about committing to a man whose life will always be in danger or does ...more

This was one stupid woman..I'm just happy this was a short novella because I don't think I could have managed much more...

and the end...she actually opened a grooming shop? what? why? she went from loving the shelter business to doing grooming..what the hell for? that was just plain stupid. *mutters*

I liked the other first responder books but I just couldn't stand Ally.....

Quick little read, entertaining enough, wraps up too neatly. One comment: within three pages, it says "he was a few years older than her" and then "he was only one year older".

The story was okay but I didn't find it all that great. I couldn't really relate or enjoy the story.

A busy wife and mother of three (2 daughters and the family dog), Donna Alward believes hers is the best job in the world: a combination of stay-at-home mom and romance novelist.

An avid reader since childhood, Donna always made up her own stories. She completed her Arts Degree in English Literature in 1994, but it wasn't until 2001 that she penned her first full-length novel, and found herself ho
