One of my coworkers at the library handed me this book today at work and said that I just had to read it--did I have just a little time to spare to fit it in?
Let me just say that I was caught off guard with how beautifully moving this book was when I read it right there at a public service desk. Through the last 5 or 6 spreads of pages, tears were welling in my eyes. A flood of emotions surged within my mind and chest that I felt I couldn't hold back. This book is an example of a beautiful, poetic, uplifting way of presenting some Buddhist philosophies. It is not particularly preachy (which appeals to me), but it illustrates some key principles on death and dying in a way that is attractive to readers of many ages. I recommend it fully and wholeheartedly to anyone searching for a book about Buddhism or death and dying, or just for a lovely children's book.

I bought this book for my two-year-old son and he loves it. He doesn't understand the theme or message of the book, but he likes to hear me read it to him and he likes the pictures. I cringe when he wants me to read it to him, though, because I cry a little every time I read it. It's so incredibly beautiful. Whether you believe in reincarnation or not, it's one you should pick up.

THE MOST AMAZING children's book. BEAUTIFUL illustrations. It's all about love and growth, told through one dog who has lived many lives. It makes me cry every time. It's especially good for dog-lovers, and I think it might be better for adults than for kids. READ it!!!

My soul sister gave me this book for my birthday yesterday. It's a children's book about dog reincarnation. I sobbed. I don't know how many of us there are that believe in dog reincarnation, but if you're one of us, you'll think it's beautiful.

This is the only children's book that I ever cried from reading. That said it was a bit heavy handed. Nevertheless it's a good story.
