It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, as the song goes. Athen and Ana have their tree up, and their friends Arie and Cyril are coming over. There's woodsmoke in the air, and the first snowfall is nigh.

If only that pesky local hospital wasn't evil, and potentially filled with soul-possessing dark demons. Alas, eggnog and fruitcake will have to wait.

Athen, Ana, Arie, and Cyril are White Demons, good creatures who protect humans from the nefarious dark demons. Dark demons are evil, and it'...more

Taken takes us back to where it all began with the Watcher’s Trilogy. If you are unfamiliar with it, then picking up this book or Awakening, is a great place to start. That is really the beauty of this story.

Those familiar can pick up Taken, and get to know Ana and Athen even more. It’s great because when a trilogy meets its end, we are left with wanting more of the ch...more

Don't read this book if you haven't read at least book 1 of the trilogy. It's technically a prequel but it'll make more sense if you wait to read it.

I give this book 2 stars because it does explain the back story to the trilogy (or at least some of it), but it is seriously lacking in a number of ways:

1. The basic plot of this story is fine, but the interactions between the characters made me want to roll my eyes constantly. The sickly sweet over-the-top way Athen and Ana talk and interact with...more

It's no secret that I love this series (you can read about that here), and this book is no different! I am a huge fan of novellas and prequels, especially when it comes to a series. I like reading about the characters' pasts and how they got to where they were in the start of a series.

In Taken, you learn about what happened to Ana before the start of The Watchers Trilogy. I am not going to even go into the plot on this book because it will give too much away about the series it was written for....more

Going back to where it all it began this novella is a must read for fans of the Watcher's trilogy. It also makes a wonderful starting point for those unfamiliar with Ana, Athen, Cyril, or Arie. They are the white demons, angels, helping to protect and guide mankind.

This story brings us forward, showing us life before the Awakening, and the events that led up to it. We get a sneak peak at the undying love that is exchanged, but also the power and strength of it. In between is Ana and the gang as...more

I love The Watchers Trilogy by Bolton and Taken is a perfect addition to the series. I was excited to find out that this was a prequel to the Watchers Trilogy but I wasn't sure what to expect. It surpassed my expectations. Getting to see what Ana's like before everything happens is super interesting. The ending is so sad and if you read the trilogy first you know what I mean.

I thought it was a wonderful. My only complaint is that I want more.

It seemed really short but was good it tells exactly how ana was taken and you see how much Athen loves Ana and what he would do for her I was kind of hopping it would include some of the story on why it took so long to awaken Ana but it was still a good short prequel

Taken is really intense. It explains a lot. I loved it. It's nice to read about Athen, Ana, Cyril, and Ari before everything happened to her. I missed them and plan on reading the trilogy again.

I started reading Awakening first, then saw this book, I then read this and it made the Awakening so much better.
