As a book lover, I have come across many amazing books in my time which I would personally consider to be masterpieces such as The Road by Cormac McCarthy, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and The Beach by Alex Garland; the latter of which I have had the pleasure of meeting.

Got this from the Amazon e-reader app yesterday, after reading the Facebook page. Originally, I thought it sounded ok since I thought it was some sort of spoof or parody of the superhero genre. But then reading it I realised its meant to be serious, which made it all the more worse. This book probably has the silliest superhuman powers ever conceived: Bubble Gum Girl? Candy Girl? Magic Boy? I will give great kudos to the lad for getting his first book published but sadly it's not great. In fact, it's not good, it's a real stinker. It's a first idea and something that shouldn't have made it off of the drawing board. The big problem with the book is it has no grounding what so ever. Not everything has to be realistic but it has to be relevant in some ways which this isn't.
