♥ ♥ ♥ 5+ HEART WARMING, RIVETING, EXHILARATING, AND AGONISING STARS ♥ ♥ ♥
I loved her. Oh God...I loved her. She was
everything, ripped me apart and made me whole.

Our relationship was both the best thing I’d ever experienced and complete torture all at the same time.
An enthralling story about love, domestic violence, healing, strenght and trust. William, who moved away from his old town after devastating events six year prior to never return to his family, is unhappy with the man he has beco...more
5 HEART WRENCHING STARS
Whew....WHAT A BOOK!!! It was utterly fantastic. I have read all of AL Jackson's books and every single one of them have moved me to a place that no other author has been able to do. Her books are beyond words, the emotion that is written into every line and every word is perfection. The palpable feelings that exude from her characters are indescribable. Her books have a pulse that beat through my body and make my heart soar. The flow of her stories, the pace, everything a...more

5+ stars!!!!
Books like this remind me why I absolutely ADORE reading. Books like this that grab me, hold me captive, envelop me in the story and leave a mark on my heart.
Once again, the phenomenally talented AL Jackson brings us a gorgeously written, emotionally charged love story that that was heart wrenching, beautiful and uplifting.
This book highlights the gut-wrenching horrors of abuse, the beauty of a second chance, of finding the strength to stand up for yourself and for those you love,...more
F**k, this was a tough one to finish. I felt my emotions all over the place. A tale of lost love, heartbreak, domestic violence, young love, older love, abuse - it had it all. Really as I was getting towards the end I really was not sure how it was going to end. It's one of those books that has left me with a headache - I find if I read a very emotionally charged book I end up with a headache at the end of it. I think I need something light to read now.

I received a copy of this book as an ARC from the author.
I have to say, she has once again hit it out of the ballpark for me. This was a raw and emotional read and I was honored to be asked to read and advanced copy.
I previously anticipated new releases by well-known authors and have found that authors such as A.L. Jackson and other debut authors are hitting the mark for me and I find myself eagerly anticipating their new releases. If you haven't read her other two books, you don't know what you...more

William left his family and his home town 6 years ago and never looked back at the reminder of what he lost and the pain he felt. He was broken inside and angry at the world and especially at Maggie. He lived in an unhappy life and had a job he hated… he was living one miserable day at a time. The dreams that wake him every night are haunting him and do not make any sense, or are they not dreams but something else? William fin...more

First things first, this book should come with a warning label. I've read A.L. Jackson before, so I knew I was in for an emotional read but wow, I felt like I couldn't breathe for most of the book. It was seriouslyheavyand left me feeling so raw.
When We Collidedeals with some very serious and upsetting subjects and I think it's only fair to know that going in. I pretty much went in blind and was just floored by this book. It gives a very real look at physical and domestic abuse, sexual...more

I always know when I read an A.L. Jackson novel I need a box of tissues and to be ready for a very dark and complex book. When We Collide was no exemption; it is story of child abuse and spousal abuse that will take you in a dark place while reading it. To appreciate any of Ms. Jackson’s books you need to be in a mood for a dark book with deep characters, and a lot of emotions.

Maggie
"I’d never known what home meant.
To me, it’d been a prison, a place I longed to escape. A place where horrors were harbored, concealed behind closed windows and lies.”

I wish I could of written this when I finished the book in the wee morning hours, when my heart was racing & I was feeling all kinds of emotions. I have calmed down since then. Let me start by saying I’m pretty sure I am turning a new leaf by going into books blind, I feel like the less I know the better the experience. If I already know if there is a HEA then how can I appreciate all the feelings that come with it? When We Collide was everything I was looking for & going in blind only m...more

EXCELLENT READ
My 5 Star Review to a gripping story of love and Loss.
What would you do to safe your family? The question our main character William faced when everything was stacked against him. But I do get ahead of myself.

I read this book awile back, decided to go ahead and review it. Okay wrote this review twice and GR ate it both times. So I'm keeping this short and sweet.
Good story, but I hated the writing style. This book jumped back and forth in time constantly. Granted each jump was marked, but it still disturbed the flow. I wish I would have dug through and read each part marked "six years earlier" then finished by reading parts marked "present day". I think I would have really liked the book. So that's m...more

A. L Jackson knows how to write angst and she does it well!
When We Collide
is a heart-wrenching tale of love lost, redemption, courage, strength and resilience. This isn't your typical contemporary romance...it's dark, raw and will give you the chills in certain parts! I was blown away by A.L Jackson's capacity to broach a subject matter that isn't widely utilized in a romance type novel.
William instantly falls in love with Maggie, who comes from a less than desirable family life. But he ca...more

When We Collide is like a box of pent up emotional tension waiting to break free from it's confinement and wrap itself around it's reader. You know what to expect, maybe even saw it coming, but you are in no way ready for the dark, gritty and intense realism that the author has created. Or at least I wasn't.
Right from the beginning I knew things were going to be rough for William. The turmoil that raged within him was too much to be held inside, and at some point he was bound to snap. But the w...more

A.L. Jackson has done it again. When We Collide is PHENOMINAL!!!!! I don't know how she does it but every book I have read by her has pulled at every hearts string I have. This one was even harder for me because of the sensitivity of the subject matter. I have to say she made me feel everything Maggie and William felt throughout the entire book. I felt like I was a part of the story. I have to say Troy was a real douchebag. I don't feel bad for him at all for what happens to him in the book. I t...more
I finished this book and what can I say….We have to believe that with enough love everything is possible, all the suffering, all regrets , we have to be capable the put them behind for conquer our hapiness
This book give me this thoughts….
I really loved it, very well written, and I feel every emotion from the characters .
I was immensely disappointed with this book. I first got a sample through Amazon which got me hooked, however, the decisions the two main characters, William and Maggie, make irked me to no end, especially Maggie's. Now, Maggie was an abused child and found herself in an abusive relationship which I know is a pattern well documented in real life. Maggie was aware of this pattern and was given multiple opportunities to get out through others intervention or through her own will. Making the choice...more
I had this book sitting in-read for months........WHAT THE HELL WAS I WAITING FOR this book took my breath away it was simply spectacular. William every women need a man like him in their lives . I could literally feel his need to help his family also feeling helpless as what to do. Maggie at first I was not a fan of hers but as the story unfolded I felt for her her crippling fear and self hatred driving her decision making. I know this is all fiction but this subject matter takes place each and...more

3.5 stars to clarify.
This is the most recent of Ms. Jackson’s books and it actually had the feel of “Pulled” and “Take This Regret”. The two main characters, William and Maggie, are miserable in their current lives and have to endure the pain of memories of something that happened one summer six years ago. As a result, William ran away to California, never returning to see his family who he adores, until he is forced back to his hometow...more

Gosh, this book was powerful. I am lost for words.
When we collide is a amazing incredible journey of forgivness, love, bravery and redeeming.
It has brought out so many emotions from me. My heart was in pieces in some parts and it was so painful to read. It was a difficult subject matter to deal with, but A.L Jackson has written it out beautifully.

Hmmm…Where do I begin? I don’t read many Adult books. I tend to stay on YA books. However, when I read the blurb for When We Collide, I had to know what tore Maggie and William apart. I needed to know if they found their way back to each other. I never imaged the horror that plagued Maggie would stir my soul into feeling her pain and fear. I wanted to reach in a save her, to give her the strength she needed to escape. By the time I got to the part that actually explained what torn them apart, I...more
'When We Collide' is an emotional novel that deals with love, loss, family, and hope. It's wonderfully written with a great pace. The author's attention to detail and descriptions of the setting and characters made this book really rich and beautiful. It was easy to imagine myself alongside the characters in the novel and the setting was so completely described that I could almost feel the sun on my skin and the smell of the leaves. The characters are well rounded and very realistic. They aren't...more
When first starting When We Collide by A.L. Jackson I had not read any of the reviews or the description I am a reader that likes to go into a book unswayed by another's opinion. Rarely that happens but when I am able to pick up a book that no one I know is currently discussing I am relieved. From the beginning I noticed how incredibly the book was written. The Author takes you from past to present, dreams to reality and person to person almost flawlessly and I really enjoyed the lack of confusi...more

I ran my nose up her jaw and whispered in her ear, “I don’t know how to stop loving you.”
WOW that is how I would describe When we Collide. I skimmed the summary and I read a few reviews prior to reading and everything seemed good, but I judged the book by the cover and kind of made me put it on the back burner…. I now wished I hadn’t.

I can't even begin to express the emotions I felt while reading this story. You kind of know the events that led to the character's separation, but then, when you find the real reason, your mind just goes into overload! I don't know about other readers, but I literally wanted to yell at my iPad! I wanted to yell at the characters to let them know what the other character is thinking!
