Good book. I liked both Annette and Jared. Annette had come to St Valentine to start a new life. After finding her fiance having sex with a bridesmaid right before the wedding and watching him almost hit her, she got out fast. Now she's working as a waitress and keeping a low profile hoping he won't find her. She is determined to make it on her own and not be dependent on anyone else. If you enjoy a romance with no action, then this book is for you. Both Jared and Annette have mysterious past that are reveled. Part of Jared’s childhood left him wondering who he really was. I couldn't relate to the novel but it was okay to read. I was glad Brett never knew the baby was his and therefore never got a chance to harm either of them again.

This was.hard for me to get through and I'm not sure why. Maybe I felt like something was missing or maybe the conflicts felt contrived. Not bad but not as engaging.
