When temptation calls

Sheriff Dallas Garwood has followed the straight and narrow all his life. The one exception? When he tangled with Rowena Wright. The experience had lasting consequences he'd rather not repeat.

That may be easier said than done. Rowena is back, set on restoring her family's ranch to sell it. Is this Colorado town big enough for the two of...more

This was one of those books I picked up on a whim, I honestly expect it to be as good as it was. Great, fleshed out characters and a heroine filled with issues from her upbringing and one that ran from emotions. Her mother's murder at the hands of her father, changed her life, she and her two sisters became estranged and now she's back to her hometown to sell her house. She of course runs into the hero, a guy who made her feel, to whom she lost her virginity. The hero is kind of happy to have he...more

Very good book. Rowena has returned to Bell River Ranch after sixteen years away. Her plans are to fix it up to sell it. Having had the reputation of a wild child she doesn't expect to be welcomed back by the people of the town. Neither does she expect to be welcomed by Dallas, who her father shot when he found them together. I really liked both Dallas and Rowena. Rowena has some serious issues to deal with. The ranch is the place where their father murdered their mother, then she and her sister...more

Rowena Wright is back in her small hometown, somewhere that she never thought she'd be again. But now fifteen years after she left, Rowena is back to fix up the family ranch and sell it for good this time. It might not be as easy as that, with her old flame Dallas Garwood as the Sheriff and still just as tempting as ever. Determined to resist him, Rowena pulls away at every opportunity. But when she comes across a discovery that could take away any claim she has to Bell River, will all the secre...more

My main complaint against Wild for the Sheriff was it ended. I wanted to know what happens with the other characters. I hate to wait for the answers in the next book.
I was lost in the story. I like the characters. There was one love scene in the book.

Rowena Wright has come back home after her father died in prison for murdering her mom.
She has come to fix up the ranch for the next renters or for selling it. Her two sisters wanted to sell it. They had found thier mother at the foot of the...more

When Rowena Wright returns to her childhood home after 16 years and the death of her father, she's prepared for it to be a difficult return. The house hold a lot of dark memories, as does the local sheriff, Dallas Garwood. Rowena's mom died suddenly when she was a teenager, and she and her sisters were sent off to live with relatives without a backward glance. Rowena was known as a wild child, the one who tempted Saint Dallas into Temptation, and got caught. (No secret babies, it does not go the...more

This book tell the story of Rowena who returned to the home where her father murdered their mother and this time around, she is back to refurbish and renovate the house for future rent/ sale. The house is officially an inheritance for all three of them; Rowena, Bree and Penny and as Rowena is free before her next job, she offered her help to see thru the renovation. Her relationship with her sisters is quite distant given the fact that they have separated at a very young age and growing up witho...more

Wild for the Sheriff begins with a familiar storyline - a "wild child" returns to her childhood home after many years and reconnects with the one who got away. Rowena is known for her tendency to rebel and her reluctace to commit. She knows gossip will follow her around town, but she has no choice to return and face the past. As the oldest of three daughters in the Wright family, she's been tasked with the re...more

Wild for the Sheriff begins with a familiar storyline - a "wild child" returns to her childhood home after many years and reconnects with the one who got away. What I found unique about this story, though, was the dark lining threaded throughout - family secrets that haunted the heroine and kept her from committing to anything: work, love and lasting friendship. The romance is gradual, but the characters are compelling. This is part of a series, and I'm definitely interested enough to pick up th...more

Loved this story, the delightful little boy who sometimes saw things more clearly than his father, Dallas, or his new best friend, Rowena. The gradually emerging mystery of what happened to her and her family pushed the action and captured me, making me want to keep reading to learn more.
How these three primary characters finally come together was most satisfying.

Now, if only the other mysterious person, Bonnie, could be followed in a future title, I'll be really happy.

She is Rowena. A girl with a cruel past. A past that includes a brutal father and a murdered mother. A past that includes her boyfriend being shot by her father. A past that includes abandoning her sisters, for which one of the sisters never forgave her. But she came out of all these with great determination and grit.

Back at the homestead where it all began, she had to fight for her reputation, vandalism and above all th...more

Wild for the Sheriff is just a good story to sit down and read. Perfectly paced with a good, solid plot and interesting characters this turned out to be a book that was difficult to set down.

Rowena had a hard childhood. Her father killed her mother and she, along with her sisters, was sent to live with a relative who didn’t want her. Growing up she had the reputation as a wild child. Now she is back home trying to fix up the old home to either rent or sell. She knows how this town will talk abo...more
