In the Heat of the Spotlight, is the 2nd book in Kate Hewitt’s The Bryant’s Trilogy
Luke Bryant is a successful, gorgeous and ambitions alpha-hero with a sensitive side that he hides from the world. Aurelie (I love her name) Schmidt is a forgotten and has-been pop singer, who hides her pain behind a mask of being exactly what the media says about her. A total loser!
Equally damaged, they both need to revive something in their lives. Luke with the relaunch of his family’s department stores and Aur

A heroine with a fake pop princess persona and a hero with a compulsion to honesty. A match made in heaven. Not. But after a bad start, they get to know each other better. and against all the odds, Luke and Aurelie' s relationship develops beautifully not only on desire - and there was plenty - but also on trust. Under the armour of the washed up pop star with the go-to-hell attitude, Luke discovers the real Aurelie. But Luke has his own dark secret. They unravel each other's secret

The story of trust and second chances. It is about a washed-out pop star who seeks change and her new boss who has fallen for her stormy blue eyes is just the person to give her the chance to change...
Loved the spunk of the heroine - especially because there was so much going on under the spunk.
The first and last time I attempt to read a Mills & Boon novel. I could only force myself to read a chapter, this style of storytelling is clearly not for me.

As I only read a chapter I can't comment on the story itself, I am sure fans of Mills & Boon may enjoy this story, but I need more substance and less fluff in romance novels.
