I don't know how many authors actually bridge two trilogies together with a novelette. It seems like kind of a unique approach to me, but a good one if written well. It's like a teaser before starting the next book. This one comes complete with a cliffhanger ending - who is this mysterious stranger? And it's not an "optional" story. I was shocked, in fact, at what happens. It sets the stage for a new focus and new storyline in the world of Secramore. Very, very well done. The Verishes are steppi ...more

Short story thats picks up somewhere after the first book ends, bridging for the next in the series. Great writing, just really short.

The idea of bridging one book to a new trilogy via a novella was, well, brilliant and 'novel' if you pardon the pun. I am not usually a big fan of novellas as I prefer to have more detail which is usually denied me due to the length. However, being as this dealt with characters from "Raven's Heart" so you have already been introduced to them and their lives and struggles. This story continues on perfectly with two of them - Hawkwing and his brother, The White Demon/Collin.

For such a short book t
