This book is almost as awesome as the first Big Girl Knits book, by the same authors :) I love the frank discussion of fitting challenges on roundy bodies. The authors explanations are clear, and presume that the reader can handle whatever knitting the reader may want to do. The authors have a contagious confidence in their readers. Even if you're neither a girl nor big, the discussion of fit and style is wonderfully informative, and the patterns are lovely.

The projects are still nice though I like fewer of them as opposed to the first book. There is some good information on shaping and fitting a sweater pattern to your body that builds on what is laid out in the first Big Girl Knits book, but the language goes from a bit cheeky to a bit trashy. I think they are trying to be more like the "Stitch N -----" series. They didn't need to do that, they were just the right blend before.

Great instructions on how to customize knitted sweaters for big boobs & small waists. As well as some elegant lace & cable patterns that I am too impatient to knit, because they're too complex for me to do -- while still keeping track of Law & Order plots.

I hated the first book in this series, Big Girl Knits. It had tank tops and knitted skirts, among other really unflattering garments. This one is a bit better, but I still don't find anything that jumps out at me. There aren't any knitted skirts, which is good, and a few of the sweaters are ok. But I still find most of these designs to be pretty unflattering to plus size women over size 14. There is a lot of good info on sizing knitted garments, and changing things to fit your shape, so it

Great tips for selecting styles for the three big Bs - boobs, belly and butt. Humorous writing. May return for a couple of pattern ideas.

Lot's of wonderful patterns for plus size girls. Nice, fitted sweaters.

A further collection of knitting patterns for Big Girls. This one also shows very nicely how to change patterns to make them fit.

The patterns in this book were colorful, flattering, and relevant. I thought the authors did a nice job of incorporating a variety of stitches to make interesting knitted items. The design and layout was well done and I was fully engaged in all pages of the book. I didn't see any patterns that piqued my interest, but I'd probably still recommend to other knitters.

This is a lovely book, and I appreciate very much another book with designs for plus size women. I'm glad that there are more socks in here (everyone should knit socks), and I very much like the cover sweater. Nothing jumped out to me as a Must Knit, though.
The writers are a delight to read. Their fashion and design advice for plus sized women is invaluable.

The sequel to Big Girl Knits is even better than the original! I'm a bit bashful about giving a book a rave review before even starting one of the featured projects, but I just adore the energy Amy and Jillian bring to this volume. Any woman who's ever felt insecure about any part of her bod should read the intro, even if you're not a knitter.

I love, love, love this book. There are 2 patterns in this book that I have the yarn for and at least 3 more that are potential knits. I love the chatty nature of the beginning of this book and will go back to it the next time I need to re-work a sweater.
Disclaimer: I know and love the women who wrote this book.

When I first paged through this in a bookstore, I wasn't impressed. Then I took it out of the library and I'm all, "Ooh! I wanna make this, and this, and this..." I'm also pleased that while patterns for "belly" girls were few in the original, in this volume I think every single pattern was marked as appropriate.

The patterns seem fairly straight forward. The instructions in the begining on how to "tweak" a pattern to make it fit are very helpful. Can't wait to get started on some of the projects

Some good patterns for women who are shapely and hints about how to maximize and minimize your best and worst features.

I didn't like this one as much as the first one, though there were still some interesting patterns in this second one.

More super cute patterns for big girls like myself. Less patterns for "boob" girls, hence no 5 star. :)
