As a teacher of the English language in the penultimate country that reads, it certainly is a challenge to have my students read anything at all. What they're given in class-- short stories by writers such as Emily Dickinson, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Charles Dickens etc.-- causes them much frustration; they cannot seem to connect.
