Gimme, gimme, gimme!!!! If you're gonna tell me there's a novella in Maxon's point of view that doesn't come out til march 2013, then don't tell me until the month, or even the week before! I can't deal with all this waiting!!!!!

My heart…Prince Maxon…
Oookay, unf.
I was worried about the other girl.
But at the end everything was good!
I just love how Maxon thinks, how all his life he had been taught to be someone, of how to be the prince and how he in his own way he rebels against it.
And I loooove his POV the first time he met America in the gardens, he really did fell for her at the begining.

well...honestly I just wish it was longer. but it was wonderful to see how awkward Prince Maxon really is, not necessarily the confident royalty that America sees in him.
I tend to think that I lean more toward
being Team Maxon but then I remember that we really haven't had the opportunity to get to know Aspen as the first book really only introduced him to us and then he said goodbye to America and then showed up again just to make a love triangle. He ruined the quick happy ending. which is good...more

This is a short story about Prince Maxon, well, I don't know what to say about him. He's a prince, so he's supposed to be charming, right? Well, he is, but I'm still not convinced to change my team. Haha! Maybe, I'm one of the few that belongs to Team Aspen, and I'm proud of it. Haha! Because I believe there's a story behind him. And I think America really loves her.

It was nice knowing what Prince Maxon was thinking. Now I understood him more clearly. His fears, doubts, and worries were realistic. Some of his thoughts were humorous. And who would have thought he had a sort of love interest before the start of Selection? Actually, it was quite surprising.
I also learned the King's true motives. He was the one who chose most of the girls for the Selection. It was not a draw! They only tricked the people and told them it was! A really bad move for a King.

I love how we are all freaking about how there was someone else in Maxon's like before America. For some reason I just assumed that he had never even touched a girl before this selection business.
I'm excited to read about her and a little worried. Why is it important that we know about her!? I'm scared.

She was looking at our fingers and not into my eyes, and thank goodness for that. If she were, she'd have seen how absolutely floored I was the first time I finally, truly saw her.

Okay, I realized after I had read The Elite that this little novella existed, so I read them out of order. I hate when that happens but it is just a fact of life.
I found it interesting to see things from Maxon's point of view. I was intrigued by how he viewed that first meeting with America, and seeing how things looked from a different perspective is always refreshing and interesting. Finally, I got the chance to hear things from the adorable, charming Prince Maxon! Taken place in the few days before The Selection, The Prince gave us about everything we wanted from Prince Maxon, finding out secrets that we never knew before.
I love Prince Maxon, I really do. I especially adored him in The Elite, where he just made me feel butterflies in my stomach because of his charming sense. I wish that he was real!

Despite the summary, the novella does not have any romance between another girl and Maxon.
Could you even call it romance, if the guy's not even interested?
The novella begins with Maxon worrying about the Selection, and why wouldn't he? The choice he's going to make will affect him for the rest of his life. But then, there's something about the way the first person POV is written that makes me want to point at him and say in a deep voice, "You sound too gay. You are not WORTHY!"

I have been irrationally indifferent to novellas in the past. I couldn’t tell you why if I tried. Presently, however, I have had a change of heart. Admittedly, The Prince was the first novella I’ve ever read. It only sparked my love for Maxon so much more, getting to see his perspective.

I was very disappointed with this little novella – it is not thrilling at all and nothing like what the summary promised.
I really liked The Selection and Prince Maxon has become my favourite character. This book, however, adds little to his character other than vulnerability. The remaining characters – the King and Daphne – are uninteresting and one dimensional, ridiculous even.

Not that great a novella.
I had expected more as Kiera Cass's The Selection had been extremely well-written, but this just lacked it. It felt more like a sloppy fan fic of a book than a novella written by the same author.
The synopsis did not in any way portray the storyline of the novella. It was basically just one fifth of it the synopsis story and the rest the exact same plot as the start of The Selection except written from Prince Maxon's view, of course.
