As i neared the end of this book I thought to myself: Wow. This girl plays a lot of soccer. I have never been a fan of the sport, but she taught me more about it. I've come to understand it a lot better.
After hearing how much she struggled in her early years, and how she persevered, I feel inspired just like she did. I also appreciate how she was willing to publish this book, revealing all her thoughts and emotions she had to the world. That made me think of her as a human being rather than som
I am a new fan to soccer. Up until a couple of months ago, I had no idea who Hope Solo even was. My ten year old daughter asked me to buy this book for her. She saw Hope play against Canada this summer in Salt Lake. She loved the game and though Hope Solo was amazing. She read the book in just over a day, and I couldn't help but join in her enthusiasm. It was amazing to read all of Hope's hardships that she's experienced and know that she's still an amazing soccer player. This book shows how fai ...more

I read the book hope solo. This book was very entertaining and factual. This book is about hope solo (a professional soccer player) who's life starts out with a rough start but gets better as time goes on. Hope had a tough childhood but soccer made her forget about all the bad things in life and helped her focus on the good things in life. Hope taught me that giving up isn't an option in soccer. I had a lot in common with hope solo because there were some bad things taut happened in my life but ...more

Hope Solo's inspiring story tells about her childhood while feeling alone and misunderstood. She had a lousy father and a family that she felt could never understand her. That was until one day she found a sport that could help her fight through that. Soccer. Solo's powerful and emotional words help you feel what it must have been like to be her. While reading her book not only does it make you feel bad for her and the other children like her, it makes you relize just how lucky I am to have a fa ...more

Hope Solo, one of the best goal keepers in the world tells her story from when she was very young until the present. Solo’s story is compelling and one that is not typical of most professional woman’s soccer players. In order to compete on a professional level you need to have money, money to participate and money to fund your personal travel from game to game during the season. With a homeless father, a mother who struggled to find regular work and grandparents of very modest means Solo’s journ ...more

Usually, I don't like biographies. But, this book was actually, in my opinion, really good. One of the main reasons that I really liked it is because Hope Solo is my inspiration. I want to be just like her when I grow up, so this book taught be a lot about her. Of course, another reason I liked it is because it's about soccer, and you get to see soccer from a different point of view; by a different person. And of course, I love soccer. Also, Hope reminds me of me because I play in goal, I have b ...more
Hope Solo- My Story

I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars! This book is very good and inspirational for young, athlete girls. Hope is an inspiration, not only for soccer players, but for young teenage athletes everywhere. Her dedication is unbelievable. She always wants to put her best foot forward and she always puts in 100 percent. She is not only a great athlete, but just a great person in general.

Hope goes through family issues which only lead too financial troubles. To the point where she alm
A student recommended this book as a possible memoir for the students to read. It was good. I like soccer but have not followed it. Her memoir read well, but I have to admit she seemed a bit immature, spoiled, and a tad self centered. Still her journey was interesting and gives one an interesting insight into the growth of professional women's sommer.

Interesting story about the life of one of the soccer icons; I expected a bit more about the training and how kids have to make sacrifices to pursue their dream. However, this is a good story about making it when not born with a golden spoon. In addition, the unconditional love for her father is a great credit to Hope, who could easily have chosen a different route.
Unfortunately, the story stops at the initial rounds of the Olympics and not at achieving gold medal. I guess publishing the book j

This book, Hope Solo: My Story by Hope Solo was very good. I found that this book was very easy to read and comprehend. I am not the best reader and I dont really enjoy reading at all. But, I caught myself reading all the time and wanting to read more and more. This book is about the life of hope solo and the tradgities she went through. It was amazing to see how Hope changed through the years. Being a soccer player myself, it was easier for me to be interested in the topic. One day I hope to ac ...more
