You may be wondering why I gave this book 4 stars after titling my review "Heartbreaking". Well, it's because Found is still a good read, but it was heartbreaking. The act of murder in and of itself is heartbreaking and in this conclusion Perry's murderer is revealed! I did love the look further into some of the characters and the relationships that develop. I will warn you that the closer to the end of the book the more typos you will encounter. As any of you that have read my past reviews will...more

The Secrets of Crittenden County series and book #3!"Found" by Shelley Shepard Gray

In this series there was a murder that sort of hung around and got solved in this last book but ~ reading this book alone is possible as I did, still enjoying the characters and their anguish of this ordeal all were going through in the community. not knowing..........

Deborah had a brother go missing and because he was the type of person he was that always seemed to rub folks the wrong way, she assumed along with...more

A murder mystery. A love story. A inspirational story about the Amish and their neighbors. In their own rights, each element would be an intriguing story, but when combined the three blend into a fascinating tale that is impossible to put down. Author Shelley Shepard Gray manages to do this with her series, The Secrets of Crittenden County. And with "Found," her final volume in this trilogy, Gray wraps up the mesmerizing story of murder among the Amish with finese.

Beginning with a short prolouge...more

Detective Luke Reynolds is investigating the murder of a young Amish man named Perry. Jacob Shrock fought with Perry the night before he died and is expecting to be under investigation himself soon. He is in love with Perry's sister, Deborah, but hides his feelings. When the detective finally questions Jacob, Deborah is shocked to learn he may have killed her brother.

It doesn't take long for Reynolds to make an arrest which sends shockwaves throughout the community. I didn't see this one coming...more

This was the third book in the 'Secrets of Crittenden County' series. As such, it was no surprise that the author tied up a lot of the loose ends, especially revealing what actually happened to Perry.
I liked that we were given glimpses into the hearts of most of the major characters in the series, so we could see how far they had come since we first 'met' them. I really appreciated Lydia and Walker's storyline in this book . . . Lydia realising that sometimes love isn't enough to make a relation...more

Awesome series!!! I realize Shelley Shepard Gray doesn't normally write mysteries but she did a great job in this series. She also kept the romance exciting as well. Keeping Lydia and Walker together, Frannie and Luke together and Deborah and Jacob together kept the series as exciting as the mystery of who killed Perry. It was somewhat a dissapointment to find our who actually did kill him but sometimes in life, we are disappointed by choices made. While it was understandable why he did it, it w...more

Just finished "Found" by Shelley Shepard Gray. It gets 5 stars. it was a wonderful ending to the three books in the series. It has many surprising turns in this book. Most of the characters decided what is best for them, often going against their parent's wishes. There is even a surprise wedding. Even the two detectives are surprised with who the murderer is. this is an Amish mystery at it's best

Good, but kinda a weak ending. You pretty much know who is " it " less than half way into the book. But I also kinda liked it because you get a good closure, it doesn't just slam you with a result at the very end and leave you with " What happened to everyone ? " or and quick two-page epilogue to sum it up. So it's a half and half with me. I liked it, but didn't love it.

Found is the final book in The Secrets of Crittenden County. This series of books follows the lives of Walker, Lydia, Frannie, and Jacob who were all affected by the murder of Perry Bontrager. Who killed Perry Bontrager? We find out in this book. Perry was a troubled Amish youth. He has strayed way far from his Amish teachings getting into trouble with drugs. He was not well liked by the people who used to be his friends. Anybody could have killed him. I had a suspicion about half-way through th...more

Loved this book. Kept me guessing until the end who the guilty party was. Loved the lessons it continued to reaffirm, such as not to judge people and that our true friends always stand by us. Also that we all are sinners and make mistakes. I just love stories about the Amish and the way the community practices their faith. Looking forward to the next release.

What animal will be loose in Schrock's store in this book? Deborah gets a job at the store to help with the long days of living without her brother. Jacob and Deborah have secrets to tell the police and what is in their hearts to each other.

pg 116 "the older a man gets, the farther he had to walk to school as a child."

Found is the final book in the series by Shelley Shepard Gray. The murderer is found and love as well. Answers to the problems of the love between Amish and Non Amish couples. The murderer is a surprise, but somewhere in the story I had my suspicion

I loved the conclusion to this series. Was not sure who killed Perry but half way through the book I had an idea. I must say that my thought was right. Shelley has a way to keep you on the edge and wanting more. The hardest part was waiting for this book to come in at my local library. Well worth the wait. If you want to read a good series read this one.

Great ending to this series, in this book we finally find out what happens to Perry. I would say for the most part loose ends were tied up but there are stila few things I wonder about. I really came to care for a lot of the characters and hope that somehow they might how up in another book someday.

To finish up this series was sad. But the ending was even worse. It really could have given more in the epilogue not just a recap of what we had read. And a tiny look in to the future.
Judith
It was a so so book. The author should have finished this in two books. There was too much that was hard to believe.
I was happy to see the end of this series.

It's so easy to think the cares of the world doesn't touch everyone but even the quiet Amish community of Crittenden County isn't immune.
Virginia Winfield
I loved the book. Hated who ended up doing it. It was very sad. Book was well written and a quick read..

What a great end to this trilogy! I'll give no spoilers, but will only say it is so well crafted you can't put it down. Loved it!
Lynne Kravitt
ok to read. not a lover of the book.
Melina
The best in the series.

great ending to a very nice trilogy. quite the opposite from 50 shades (which i also enjoyed) - a nice christian love story, mystery, etc.

Really enjoyed this series. As always I get so involved with the families in these books and feel like something is missing when I don't get to read about their lives daily. This book did not disappoint in that aspect.
Lori Hickey
I read the whole series and as I finished one book I couldn't wait for the next! I was very surprised when I found out who the killer was. I'm always sad when I finish me of Shelley's books because I fall I love with her characters and want more! I would recommend this series and all of her books!
Danielle Rush
I was kind of sad to finish this series. I was surprised by the ending, which is a good thing. I am going to miss these characters.

I live in southern Ohio with my husband, two teenagers, and two dogs. My days are filled with busy activities like most any other mom and housewife. But I also love to write books.

Each morning, after my kids go off to school, I sit at my desk, look out my window, and dream of other places. The hours fly by as I make up people and places and drink...more
