She was ready for his steel, but not for his flesh.
Luísa Tavares has a list of sins the length of the Antilles, but there’s no time to repent for them now. When a pockmarked Frenchman hands her Papa’s ring—still attached to his severed finger—she orders the Coral back to the Caribbean, despite her father’s earlier warning never to return.

There are some books in the romance genre that are so wrapped up in "finding love," the entire plot seems to revolve around the needs of the two main characters. Even when there's danger involved, these kinds of books tend to be anti-climactic. The man has no purpose without the woman. The woman has no future without the man. They live for each other and apart they are nothing.
I'm sure some people find this terribly romantic. But I find it depressing. There's more to love than finding someone w...more

It’s Luísa’s luckless fate that the only man who can help her is a blasted Inglés pirate hunter who’s more dead than alive and locked in a curse...more
Zannini did a fantastic job of immersing the reader into the life of a pirate. The book has an extremely unique outlook: putting the heroine in a position outside of a typical female realm, as a pirate captain. The Romeo and Juliet-ish story enhances the plot with Luisa, the heroine pirate captain wanting the perfect man for her, and strangely enough finding the perfect match in Xander Daltry, a pirate-hunting captain. The intermixing of other paranormal entities from witches and curses to werew...more
I can't say that I am a pirate expert. But after reading this novel, I almost feel I could high tail it out to the seven seas with the best of them.
Maria did a fantastic job of immersing me into the sea life, the life of a pirate and even further into the heart of a woman pitted in a position unlike any other. A female pirate ship captain? Bah. And a good one at that? Bah. Yeah, Maria did just that. And made excellent reading from start to finish.

This is the second book by Maria Zannini that I have read so far. Very different from the first, I loved it. The story has intense moments that will have you sitting on the edge of the seat rooting for the main characters, peppered with hot erotic scenes that will leave you breathless. The story is fast-paced, the characters varied and the ending is a happy one, my favourite kind,

I homestead on six acres in the middle of nowhere.
My writing runs the gamut from science fiction to time travel to angel romance.
Blogging is my favorite way to connect with friends and followers. On my blog, I talk about dogs, country living, absent husbands, and ghosts. Yeah, I said ghosts. Why else would I start writing angel fiction? :-)
