I was glad to read Richard Smolev's first published book as he is living with ALS and accomplished a life long goal of being a published author. This is a good first foray for him and a great accomplishment.

I could not put this book down. The financial aspects of this novel may seem intimidating to those unfamiliar with Wall Street, but fear not! A well crafted plot and great characters are what drive this story along. Kate Brewster is a fantastically compelling, strong-willed protagonist, and I was instantly captivated by her battle to balance her job and her family. Full of intrigue, internal conflict, and great characters, this is a highly recommended read.

Offerings is a superb first novel. The pace is Wall Street-esque. Kate Brewster brings a lot of humanity to the greedy Wall Street shenanigans. The conflicts, as big as they seem, are brought down to the readers level quite nicely. Recommended.
