Overall, a very positive resource. I can see that this would be a valuable tool to anyone interested in youth guidance, high school (and really middle school) cirricullum, social work or just plain sociology. Although none of the kids interviewed here come out without incident, the social climate does seem to be more positive than it was a generation ago. At least more tolerant if not accepting. A survey of challenges for young LGBTQ people and resources available to them, based on a series of interviews. The book focuses on three critical areas where support or condemnation makes a big difference to adolescents: their families, their schools, and community groups (including religious institutions and gay rights organizations). Pro: Interesting view of generation y under a long term study. Enjoyed the interviews
Negatives: Too small of a homogeneous focus group; academic in nature; stories repeat; conclusion of value of GSA has been documented often.

This seems like a really good resource, but the fact that you read the same information three times per chapter gets a little redundant and it's slowed me down so much that I can't really finish it.
