The next installment in the Offspring series.

Shea is used to taking care of herself. She has special powers, and she knows how to use them. She's pushed away the ugliness of her past, just like she pushed away Greer, the only man who had ever reached beyond her defenses.

All Greer wants is to love Shea, though that comes at a high price for him: as a shapeshifter, once he t...more

WOW! I loved this book! It's that simple and if I could just leave it at that, I would! It's packed full of action, mystery and some smokin' HOT lovin'! I'm more than impressed with this novella and I hope beyond hope that Jaime will give us at least one more...because well, there is at least one more character who is so lonely. ;) *Hint Hint*

I've followed the Offspring series since the very first book and I've invested a lot of time into reading them all so I'm always super excited when I get...more

Jamie Rush packed Turn to Darkness (Offspring #6.5) with lots of action, emotion, and suspense. This is a great continuation/conclusion to the D'Rats storyline from the novella The Darkness Within. I found myself very invested in both Shae and Greer as well as their story. I give Turn to Darkness 4.5 stars.

Twenty three years ago beings from another dimension, Surfacia, walked among us. They infiltrated the city of Las Vegas and were fruitful and multiplied. Now, years later, after a murder that held signs of being committed by one of their own, they're back in an attempt to clean up the mess that was left behind. They want to ensure that what happened in Vegas stays in Vegas and never gets out. This is one secret they want to make sure is dead and buried before they leave again. They're looking fo...more

This is the first book I have read of this series. I really need to go back and start at the beginning so I can get a better understanding of this world, with that said, this story is very enthralling. It drew me in from the beginning. Shea has had a rough time of it coming up. She was raped and is now being stalked. Then one of the guys who raped her is found dead, mauled and torn apart. This sets up a series of events that lead the a lot of action.

Greer wants to love so badly but is scared to...more

Shea Baker is the daughter of a man from another dimension, Surfacia, who was among a group who had infiltrated the human population decades earlier. Some had fallen prey to their base desires and unwittingly sired children. These children carry the Darkness within them. The Darkness gives them special powers and abilities. Shea is one of those sired children.

Greer, another offspring, is a friend and self-appointed protector to Shea especially after he learns her dark secret. A tormenting secret...more

Turn to Darkness is an action-packed thrill ride! The story features strong characters that demand the readers attention. Greer was the ultimate hero. I think I fell just a little in love. Shea was a bad-ass heroine. Despite her tragic past....that girl knew how to take care of herself. Together they were an awesome couple. I was actually biting my nails as they fought those nasty bad guys. The suspense really had me hooked. It ought a come with a warning label that reads : This short novella pa...more

This is a combined review of The Darkness Within (Offspring #5.5) & Turn to Darkness (Offspring #5.6), novellas in the Offspring series.

Rating (out of 5): a combined 4 stars

You could read The Darkness Within and Turn to Darkness as stand alones, as each have an individual plot and separate romantic storyline. However, there is an overlapping story arc making them feel more like two halves of one story and I felt I got much more depth...more

This novella in the Offspring series serves as a companion piece to The Darkness Within. It features the same band of characters and picks up shortly after that story left off.

Shea has recently moved out of the house she shared with a makeshift family of other Offspring, nicknamed D'Rats. She was starting to have feelings for Greer (one of the men there) but she couldn't deal with the mutual attraction because of a sexual assault in her past. Now, Darius, another one of the D'Rats, is seeking he...more

This one was interesting as it shows the new group fracturing. Darius freaked me out, his attitude was just wrong in so many ways. I wonder if his physical situation caused part of the problem. By becoming he can be fully functionally and that has to be a huge lure, but becoming too much is dangerous.

I hated learning about Shea's past and hated even more that it seemed like the past was coming after her again. Greer's reaction to learning about her past was great, he let Shea know it didn't matt...more
Bitten By Love Reviews
Let me just start out with saying I was jumping up and down when I got the chance to read and review another one of Jaime Rush's books. And I was NOT disappointed at all. This short story is the 6.5 installment in the Offspring series. This story features Shea and Greer. It has lots of action, suspense, and every emotion you can name. Another great story by the amazing Ms. Rush.

Good novella I read this out of order and it didn't hurt the story to much I still enjoyed it. Some how I missed its release. As with most novella's I wish it had been longer :)
Dani C. (Paulette's Papers)
This short novella was a surprising read for me. I have never read anything by Ms. Rush before and this particular story is #4.5 in the series. So I was happy to find that I enjoyed it! In fact I plan on now going back and reading the rest of the series.

Turn to Darkness is a perfectly written novella. It has everything you need to wet your reading appetite for more.
