1st story was not good. 2nd story was better. Narrator is not good with male voices.

2 stars for CAPTIVATED.

Not enough plot. Too much descriptions, ponderings, and feelings. It dragged.

The main plot was Nash a movie writer/director thought Morgana was a charlatan witch. He wanted to write a movie about witches. So he interviewed her to learn more about them. She was a real witch and told him truths. He liked what she told him but he thought they were tricks - not the real thing. Meanwhile they ar

I wasn't going to review these as the combined edition, but since I read them in this omnibus edition I might as well.

I figuratively devoured this book—which isn't to say that it was fantastic, just that it was a quick read and I had the spare time. They're early 90's Nora Roberts and still suffer some of the weaknesses of her earlier work—mostly in the extended family dynamic and weaknesses in the main relationships. I’m not a real fan of the chaotic-yet-idealized Irish stereotype that drives s

Morgana is a witch and has always been. She can trace her lineage back to the ancient Celts. Nash is a screenwriter who doesn't believe in the supernatural but makes his living writing horror movies. He sets out to meet Morgana believing she's a phony, but when he's hit with the truth, he comes to accept and love her more than he thought possible.

Sebastian is also a witch with the ability to see. When Mel walks into his life to ask for his help finding a lost boy, she thinks he's a fraud and is

CAPTIVATED:
Professional screen writer Nash Kirkland was just looking for another angle to continue his winning streak of Paranormal / Horror movies to follow in the steps of his latest hits. Witches - why not? Nash didn’t believe in them but he could sell it and with a witch supposedly living in his neighborhood of Monterey, California, why not get some research done. Trying to keep everything professional was not easy once he met the local witch Morgana Donovan, but to say he wasn’t captivated

This is a two-books-in-one-volume, but I'll review them separately.

Captivated

I thought this book read less as a formulaic 'romance' and more as an exploration of the relationship that arises when two people meet and are attracted to each other. Both are contented with their lives before meeting, and though Nash is a little slow on the uptake, Morgana recognizes immediately that nothing will ever be the same again.

It's an unusual pairing - a witch and a horror-movie screenwriter - and nicely don

This was the first Nora Roberts book I've read---SO PLEASED!!!! She is an amazing writer, and I absolutely LOVED both of these stories. The Donovan family is wonderful, interesting and loving--throw in the fact that they are all witches and you have a perfect combination. Both of these books were page turners that had excitement and a beautiful amount of romance mixed with magic. Highly recommend this series---looking for the next installment today!!!

A bolond horror-fanatikus! Ennél jobban még nem láttam leírva, hogy milyen amikor egy i

Standard formula when it comes to romance, but Roberts is good at creating memorable characters. The only thing that *really* drives me nuts is the inconsistency of character eye colors. In "Captivated", Sebastian has tawny eyes, which would make them golden. In "Entranced", the novel starring him, he has bluish grey eyes. In "Charmed" and "Enchanted", he has grey eyes. Ms. Roberts - consistency is something that detail oriented people like myself notice, and unexplained inconsistencies drive us ...more

Morgana was my favorite of all the Dovovans. That being said, since she is the first you meet she makes a great impression! Morgana has a occult store and has some crazy powers. Her relationship with Nash is awesome an funny and HOT. I loved how she finally proved she really was a witch!

Sebastian is a troubled soul and has a hard magic gift to deal with, psychic abilities. He can't say no however when a baby boy is stolen, and it doesn't hurt that Mary Ellen is around. I enjoyed their search an

A heartwarming classic for Mrs. Roberts, it blended the logical, illogical, magic, and love in two very wonderful stories. It had all the key components that are known in her novels: eccentric family dynamics, amazing and well-developed main characters, realism, and a sweet love story.

The Donovan Legacy is a four part series, focusing on modern day witches who fall in love to ordinary people. It's about the trial's their partners will face in accepting that magic does in fact exist, as well as

Nora Roberts again created a saga to be treasured. This one is about the Donovan cousins with special powers and takes place in Ireland and Monterey. The characters are interesting and have a great story to tell. Now I want to read the rest of the series.

There are times when rereading a book is like visiting old friends you haven't seen in ages. I haven't read these books in at least 5 years but when I started the first it was like that first delighted conversation with your old friend! ~ happy sigh ~

Just finished listening to the first book. It was a OK light romance, not one of NR's best but still fun. I don't think the main character needed to be a witch for this story, it wasn't really used effectively. I am, however, listening to the 2nd book and liking it a lot better, so far.

Finished Entranced and found I liked Sebastian's story better! I like the way their relationship developed as they investigated the child abduction ring.

To tell the truth the most intersting people were the main

Captivated & Entranced WOW. I read until my eyes crossed and I couldn't keep them open. I slept, woke, ate breakfast and continued to read until I finished Captivated within 24 hours. I absolutely loved it! Started Entranced shortly there after and again I was completely enthralled. Great Read. Now I'm going to have to read Charmed & Enchanted, the next two books in this foursome of literary crack.

Nora Roberts was born in Silver Spring, Maryland. She began writing when a blizzard in February 1979 kept her in her hilltop home with a three and six year old for nearly a week of canceled kindergarten and dwindling chocolate supplies.

During the now-famous blizzard, she pulled out a pencil and notebook and began to write a story for her own entertainment. From the first page, she knew it was wha
