It seems lately I have been reading about soldier's coming home with problems from the war. I wish thier was a magic pill that could help them all. Thank You all for your service.
Nate Calhoun has come back to the family ranch wounded both physcally and emotionly. Nate was Special Forces and he loved his job until the last year of it. Nate is not fitting in at home, as nightly terrors & temper is on edge.

The Soldier’s Sweetheart is a sweet and heartfelt love story. It's a good reminder that we need to have hope when in dark places.

Nate is a broken soldier with overwhelming nightmares. Coming home to his family and real life is harder than he imagined. He shuts himself off from everyone until he runs into his ex-girlfriend, Sarah. Their history together and buried feelings come rushing back. They’re both suffering with their own pains and with a little time, they begin to heal together.

The book is a sweet romance, but I rather found it too simplistic. The protagonist, Nate Coulhan, a soldier who has just returned home after serving on the Special forces team, is emotionaly disturbed owing to the horrific memories of his friend on the Special Forces team. He is attracted towards Sarah (the female protagonist), his childhood sweetheart, whom he had broken up with because he wanted to join the army. Post breakup Sarah married his best friend, and broken up with him too. Despite N ...more

Very good book. Nate has come home, but is hiding out from his friends and family. He is trying to deal with the memories of what happened and not doing a very good job of it. He won't let anyone get close - until Sarah doesn't take no for an answer. Even though he broke her heart, she still knows him and can see how much he's hurting. I really liked the way that Sarah kept telling Nate that she was there for him. She was willing to risk her heart again to help him. She was also strong enough to ...more

I must confess I haven’t read the other books in the Larkville Legacy series, of which The Soldier’s Sweetheart is a part. This is an oversight on my part that I am definitely going to correct. This was both sweet and heartwarming, as well as emotional and dark in parts.

Nate is broken, finding it very hard to reconcile his past life and future prospects. Like many returning servicemen and women, he is struggling with his phy

This book tells the story of of Nate who have returned home after an injury. He is also emotional in distress after his experience in special force which has makes him in distress. He also seems to be suffering from nightmare and terrors which make him frustrated and edgy. When Nate decided to stayed on with Special Forces, he makes a clean break with Sarah, his then girlfriend who is waiting for his return. Hence, fast forward to today, he met her sitting under the three at his house. All he ha ...more

I started reading this book and if it hadn't been on my Kindle, I would have thrown it aside in disgust. I could tell that Sarah was going to be a "perfect" heroine who could fix the hero with the power of her *gag* beautiful soul. Or something along those lines. And the book opens with Nate and Sarah meeting up again for the first time in years almost immediately. And of course their attraction is still huge. Nate was a complete asshole to her and showed no obvious remorse (even in his thoughts ...more

The Soldier’s Sweetheart by Soraya Lane is a sweet and emotional read about second chances.

Nate Calhoun has not been the same since his return to small-time life after what he went through in Special Forces. He will not talk to anyone and won’t interact with his family, whom he was very close to. But the demons that follow him are too much and he can’t tell anyone what happened to him. And he doesn’t want to let Sarah near him after she betrayed him and married his friend short after he broke up

Library book. I had read a novella by this author that I liked so I decided to read a full length book by her. I didn't like it as much as the novella but I think maybe this is one of her earlier books. I'll try one of her later books next to see if I like that a little better. Nothing technically wrong with this book, it just didn't grab me all that much. It hits a pretty standard and predictable story line. The H/h were both decent people so that was nice but some of the Hero's past decisions ...more
