Very good book. I really liked both Alex and Jessica. Jessica and Alex had had a one night stand and she never expected to see him again. She had been incredibly attracted to him from the beginning, but she recognized him as the man whose company had ruined her family. Her cousin had convinced her to see if she could find anything with which to get revenge and she had. Before she could return it, he had left and she hid it away. When she discovered she was pregnant she left her job at the hotel ...more

I like Harlequin romances for a quick escape and when I don’t want something too heavy or angsty. This book, however, is one of the better ones I have read. Secrets, Lies & Lullabies is truly a sweet and lovely love story.

Our hero, Alexander Bajoran, is CEO of a jewelry empire, jewelry royalty if you will. His family has been in the business for generations. Alex goes out of town to a meeting and forgets something at the hotel. When he returns to retrieve the folder he runs into the maid who

The title says it all. Jessica Taylor is working as a maid at a high end resort. Her family’s jewelry business was taken from them in a slick business deal by their partners the Bajoran family. Alex Bajoran is staying at the resort and sees Jessica. He doesn't recognize her but he does recognize the chemistry between them which leads to a one night stand which results in a baby. Jessica not wanting to tell her family who the father is has the baby on her own. The baby is now three months old and ...more

Recommends it for: Yes
Lovely story but it was mostly a lot of international dialogue. Very few interaction between the characters. They would say maybe one or two lines to each other followed by 4-5 pages of internal dialogue. I would recommend it though, just not my fave.

I enjoyed this book very much. Both hero and heroine' s characters were admirable. I loved how Alex is such a sweet and fair person while Jessica was one strong woman who knew herself. I'm glad I read their love story.

Set against the sparkle and money of the diamond business, Alex brings the bling of historical romance to the modern stage. Jessica is a smart, self assured heroine. I thoroughly enjoyed their interaction and the undercurrent of corporate espionage. One draw back is the baby who at three months is eating prepared foods and fully interacting, giggling, handling items etc like a much older child and at 15 months is just pulling himself up and getting ready to walk - very irksome because the author ...more

I really enjoyed this book, Secrets, Lies, & Lullabies, by Heidi Betts. Until I read this novel, I had never read any of her prior work. To me she is a new author, although I see here online she has many other romance novels. I enjoyed her voice, her point of view, and the difficulties the female character went through. I actually enjoyed the whole fact she went from riches to rags and back to being wealthy again at the end. :)
She ended up with a good guy, who wanted to be a father to their

This was a lovely read about two people whose chemistry trumps the fact they are suppose to be enemies. Alexander and Jessica meet by chance and after a night of passion, Jessica takes something she shouldn't. When they meet again a year later, Alexander has figured out what was stolen from him but the surprise Jessica leaves him stuns him more than her deception. In making things right, this couple finds something more precious than jewels!
