Cover & Title - 4 out of 5.
Favorite Character - Nadia

I liked the story & the idea/concept was really unusual. It is a quite a deep book, more so than most romances i have read. I like the characters & it was interesting reading about their jobs and how seriously they both took them.
I have one complaint.. i didn't actually "feel" the love. I am totally not sure why but it just never came for me. I did enjoy the book so it is surprising that i couldn't connect to the relationship *s

The blurb of this one really caught my attention so I thought I’d give this new to me author a try. Nadia Hamlin lives on a small island near Texas. She is the definition of a workaholic, and ignores the hurricane evacuation warnings and runs back to the office to grab more files. As she is leaving, a big sign slams into her car. Scared, she calls the fire department. The first firefighter on the scene is Penn Griffin. She has known Penn for awhile, and recently went on a disastrous date with hi ...more

After the Storm by Amy Knupp

I picked the right day to read this story, since the East Coast is under evacuation orders for Sandy right now. It brings it to my attention all those who are risking thier lives to keep others safe or too rescue them. So Thank you all for the work you do everyday and everywhere.
Nadia Hamlin is still at work trying to gather up files that she might need away from the hotel. Her 15 minute job took over an hour with trafic. She is the last one out of the hotel.

After The Storm was a little different than I thought it was going to be but I really enjoyed it. I was captured instantly by the well written story and lovable characters.

Wow....Penn really knew how to hold a grudge against Nadia~I understood it but still. Yikes!! lol I think that Nadia should have stood up for herself way before she did. Penn slowly progressed through the story but he still struggled with the outcome of his injury and Nadia's roll in it. He was still dealing with these issues

This was a short story that didn’t take me very long to dig into. This story follows Nadia Hamlin and Penn Griffin. There’s a hurricane coming to town and everyone needs to evacuate. Nadia meant to evacuate with everyone else but she really had to do something at work so she figures, she has time. She’ll go really quick and then leave. Only that doesn’t happen because by the time she is ready to go, she’s thrown right into the thick of the storm. She has to call for help so she does and the very ...more
Very good book. When Penn ended up injured after trying to rescue Nadia it ended his career as a firefighter. As this is all he ever wanted to do he is trying to figure out what he wants to do with the rest of his life while he recovers. He had been attracted to Nadia for several months but after two disastrous dates caused by crises at work he gave up on her. He felt that it was important to have some balance in life and she just didn't get it. When he was recovering from his injury Nadia kept ...more

I have to say this was a really nice read that made me smile and sniffle a bit. There is a lot to be said for a read that can make you feel like you are a part of the characters lives and you understand why they are doing what they are doing even if you don't like what they are doing to each other.

Nadia is running a bit late. She's such a work-a-holic that she stayed later than expected during a mandatory evac of the island as a hurricane approached. As she is trying to leave a sign falls and pi

After the Storm by Amy Knupp
I recall a storm, hurricane that did hit the island off the coast of Texas and saw on the news how devastating it was to some, while others houses were not touched at all.
This story starts out with the day of the hurricane and how Nadia Hamlin was just going back to get some records from the office then was gonna head off island to avoid the storm but she got stuck.
A local fireman Penn Griffin came to her rescue but he got caught in the debris but had saved her life.

After the Storm is a romance with a rocky start but a smooth ending.

Nadia and Penn have had a hard relationship to begin with. The two times they dated the date went terribly bad. The first time she cancelled, and the second she left in the middle of the date. When Nadia finds herself trapped in her car in the middle of the storm she was supposed to evacuate from hours before, her rescuer turns out to be Penn, but unfortunately, he suffers an injury that ends his

I can’t resist a Harlequin Superromance that promises angst, so I requested it and was ready to enjoy the ride. Unfortunately, I was not entertained or even engaged enough to keep reading.

Penn gets seriously hurt while trying to save Nadia from a storm. He’s a firefighter and rescuing people is his job, so the injury and the pain make it impossible for him to work. They know each other because they tried to date, but she kept cancelling because of he

Thanks to the Author, Amy Knupp, for the autographed copy & the chance to read this early!

This is my first by the author but, it isn’t the last – I added the other 5 Texas Firefighter installments to my TBR. This story quickly caught my attention and took off at a sprint. It is the sixth series about group of firefighters located on the San Amaro Island, off the coast of Texas. If the rest are as good as this one, then I will be making future reservations at the Silver Sands Hotel. This is a

This was a pretty good story but I think it might have been a little bit longer than it needed to be. Story of a workaholic woman, Nadia, who gets delayed (at work of course) during an emergency evacuation during a hurricane. When debris falls on her car and she is unable to leave she is forced to call the island's fire department. In the process of trying to rescue her, a firefighter, Penn, sustains an injury that ends his career. Can these two people overcome their differences and find true lo ...more
