I have not read the first Icicle Falls book yet but it is not stop me from reading this one nor did I feel lost. As with the other two books I have read of Sheila's so far I enjoyed this one as well. There were times I did not want to put it down, times I got mad at a character because they would not wake-up so to speak, and even found myself smiling at something that happened in the story. Sheila has a way a writing that you feel at home in the town and with the characters she is writing about ...more
Icicle Falls, Washington, is home to three divorced women; talented strong women in their own right. They've all been hurt by their ex-husbands but are now moving on. Well, for the most part moving on.

Ella, who was sure her husband Jake was cheating on her, jumped into divorcing him. He's still living in their house for financial reasons. He's hoping to make his big break into Nashville with his songwriting. Ella's sure she just wants their house to sell so they can move on. She's even starting

If you love small town America, especially at Christmas, you'll truly love reading Merry Ex-Mas. Set in the fictional town of Icicle Falls, this story follows 3 women and their interactions with Ex-husbands during the Christmas season. Cass is the town baker and she is planning her daughters Christmas wedding, baking her wedding cake and housing her Ex-husband and his new young bride because all the hotels are booked. Imagine spending the festive holiday season with someone you despise – or at least thought you despised – you Ex-husband. Ummm, not so fun. That is what Cass Wilkes, Charlene Albach and Ella O’Brien find themselves dealing with this season. Each woman’s story is very different, however, and their close friendship is a soothing and healing balm as each works through their personal demons to find that light at the end of the dying, dead Christmas tree tunnel.

For three women in Icicle Falls, the holiday season isn't exactly starting out with a strong dose of holiday cheer and love. Cass' Thanksgiving starts with her daughter's announcement that she is engaged and planning to have her wedding on Christmas Day. Dani's hastened nuptials mean that guests may not find accommodations in the small town, and the last thing Cass wants is to have her ex-husband and his new bimbo wife staying at her home. Charley has put the pieces of her life back together aft ...more

The minute I read the title of the book, I knew it had to be a great book. Merry Ex-Mas? I wasn’t disappointed. Having long been a fan of Ms. Roberts, I expected no less than a great story and she delivered it - on a Christmas Platter.

“Once in a while, if a woman is really lucky, the perfect day she envisioned turns out to be just that.”

What I liked about the book? I loved the town’s name – Icicle Falls. And, just as you’d expect, the places in the town follow suit, Gingerbread Haus Bakery, Ze

"Christmas in Icicle Falls... Between Yuletide traditions, winter sports and mistletoe hanging everywhere, Christmas is the best time of year in Icicle Falls, Washington. But this year it's not so merry-for three of its residents, anyway.

Cass Wilkes, owner of the Gingerbread Haus bakery, was looking forward to her daughter, Danielle's, wedding...until Dani announced that she wants her father, Cass's ex, to walk her down the aisle. Seriously? And, since every B and B is full, it looks like he, h

I chose this book because I have enjoyed Shelia Roberts in the past and this was a Christmas book, but it had too many negative characters for me to really enjoy it. The book centers around a group of women friends. Cass is long divorced, but forced to deal with her ex because their daughter is suddenly getting married. Charley is recently divorced, but her ex suddenly wants her back, and Ella is also recently divorced, but living in the same house with her ex until they can sell it. There was w ...more
I love the people in Icicle Falls. The book was a fast paced and enjoyable read. It had a few twists and turns in it that I hadn't expected. I loved the video on UTube and I can relate to Jake's problems. I loved the ending and can't wait for spring for the next book in the series. Thanks again Sheila for a wonderful book.
This is an amazing book. One that you will want to read every Christmas. Sheila has a way of telling it like it is. She will make you laugh and make you cry. You can never go w

"Summer in a Small Town" is an introduction to the "Icycles Falls" series. The second book is "Better than Chocolate". "Merry Ex-Mas" is the third book in the "Icycles Fall" series. Be sure to read these in order, or at least read "Summer in a Small Town" first. The first book gives important background--more about the persons in "Merry Ex-Mas" Than "Better than Chocolate". I look forward to further "Icycles Falls" books. The next book is scheduled for release in mid-2013.

'Tis the Christmas season and Cass, Charley and Ella are having issues with their exes. Cass's daughter, Dani, is announces her engagement and their plans to get married right away. That means Cass has to help pull the wedding together within weeks. Icicle Falls is a small town and there's just so many places to stay ... so Cass begrudgingly will have to find room for Dani's father (Cass' ex-husband), Mason, his new young wife, Babette and their yappy dog at her house.

This was a pretty good read. The only comment that I would make is that there were so many characters; I couldn't keep track of who was who and who they belonged with. But don't let that keep you from reading it. I love that I picked this book out to read during the Christmas season!
This was mainly set up to be a part of a series, which left me feeling as if the story wasn't over. And not in a series sort of way, more in a... well, that left me feeling unfulfilled sort of way.
This book has three women who are dealing with exes during the holiday season. One's daughter is getting married and wants her father to walk her down the aisle. Another's husband has just shown up in town and a third is living with her husband until the house sells. Each lady would have been better se
Blah, very predictable! The characters are extremely hard to relate to and they are annoying!!!! Only reason I gave 2 stars is because of Christmas timing!

This book written by Sheila Roberts gives the reader a wonderful description of Icicle Falls. What a quaint little town! The characters are so fun with a story line that flows smoothly between them. The way the author lets the reader into the thoughts of the characters makes the book so funny. I can so relate to what the characters true thoughts are especially during the holidays!!!! The way she makes the dreaded Christmas celebration with the EX so humorous and yet keeps it so meaningful is gre ...more

Eh. Portrayed a nasty sterotype of divorced women. Not everyone who is divorced is a bitter shrew; but these women were. Egads.
Holidays and weddings are special times for family and friends. But what’s a woman to do when her exs are included in all the festive events?

It seems Christmas is both a joyous and sad time for three ladies in Icicle Falls. As their past and present collide in humorous and life-altering ways.

Cass Wilkes, owner of the Gingerbread Haus bakery, is busy preparing for Christmas and her daughter Danielle’s unexpected wedding. She’s thrown for a loop when she learns Danielle has asked her father, Cass’

Merry Ex-Mas started out slow for me. I lost track of characters and storyline,(but that could have been caused by the fact that I read at night and could only read one chapter, then fell asleep.) When I finally decided to read, I couldn't put it down! I stayed up ALL night to read it!
The characters became my 'friends' and I wanted to know what happened to them. Each character was related to the others in some form, usually friendship or divorce. I wanted to slap Cass at times (actually most of

Never have I ever read a book with so much drama and loved it!

When the title reads "Merry Ex-Mas", you had better be prepared for the exes! I loved how Ms. Roberts flowed from one "ex" to the other so seamlessly.Never staying to long with one "ex" to forget where you were at with the other...Perfect spacing!!!!

I have to give credit to Cass as one of my favorite characters....I honestly would never...ever...ever have agreed to let my "ex" stay with me...I mean W

What a perfect romance for this holiday season! This is the kind of book that you can curl up with and enjoy in front of a roaring fire and have a Hot Chocolate (with peppermint Schnapps--read the book, you'll understand why!). Imagine having your ex come back into your life during the holidays. That is exactly what happens for Charley, Cass, and Ella, Each one has their own story, and the ending just may surprise you. The ride is filled with humor and the true meaning of family.

Thanksgiving started out so nice for Cassie Wilkes, owner of the Gingerbread Haus Bakery, but then as her daughter Dani provided something she was thankful for, everything went downhill. Cassie is overjoyed that her daughter is getting married, but the news that Cassie’s ex-husband, Mason, will be walking Dani down the aisle upsets her. Welcome to Icicle Falls, Washington. Small town Northwest, postcard perfect - except when you look into some of the lives of the residents. Unfortunately, a few have been badly burned and hurt by cupid's arrow and ended up with some divorces and exes in the mix. The holiday season has just begun, Thanksgiving begins the book and sometimes you have to look deep for what you are thankful for, better or worse.

A romance category novel about ex-husbands. Interesting. Sheila Roberts also never concentrates only on one couple. I still don't know why I'm still reading this series. It's good to see some continuity of characters however. Overall this on my favorite in the series to date. Disclaimer: I received Better Than Chocolate from the Tell Harlequin reader panel.

Merry Ex-Mas takes place in the picturesque town of Icicle Falls. I love everything about Icicle Falls. If I could pack up and move there right now, I totally would. It is a beautiful town full of quaint, charming shops and boutiques owned by local residents. I want to buy myself a new outfit at Gilded Lilys and go to dinner at Zeldas's and when I'm done, I want to stop at the Gingerbread Haus for a sweet treat. And thanks to the amazing detail that Sheila Roberts pours into her novels, I could ...more
