Took the family to the exhibition at Dulwich Picture Gallery, the first of the Group of Seven in the UK since 1925.
A great day out. Thomson was star of the show, particularly his sketches, each of which creating a precise evocative scene using a small number of vibrant colours and vigorous brushwork.
Also enjoyed the late Lawren Harris paintings of the Arctic. Have always previously been unmoved by their geometric simplicity and seemingly naive symbolism, but they positively shone with light and...more
