I used to be one of those women that only read books by well know authors. You know the ones that release 10 books or more a year but it seems the only thing they change are the names in each one. That all changed a while ago when I had stumbled upon a book by S.C. Stephens. I instantly feel in love with the world of Indie authors. Since then I have read many books by many new and upcoming writers. I have not once been disappointed with my choices. And I can now add Meslissa Brown to my ever gro More...

“Could he be the one? Could he be my soul mate?”

Never has a book resonated with me on such a personal level as this one. It hit scarily too close to home at times, making the heroine’s journey an intimately familiar one.

Daphne is the epitome of every woman who has ever had one great love in her life that came to an unwanted end. The ghost of ‘the one that got away’ ends up haunting us, affecting all subsequent relationships, often setting an unreachable and somewhat idolised standard of what More...

Daphne is a romantic at heart and hopes to find the one man who could truly love her back. Most of her friends have tied the knot, but Daphne's continual catching of the bouquets leave her feeling as though it may not be in the stars for her She's been plagued with thoughts of Mayson for years, which hasn't made dating easy. I'm a sucker for a great romance book. Especially the intense, passionate, tragic kind and this book has it all; the love that got away, the love of a friend that sometimes just isn't enough, and the love of a lifetime that touches your very soul.

Daphne, a hopeless romantic in her early twenties, narrates the story. Her character is gorgeous, playful and compassionate. She is always the bouquet catcher at weddings but has yet to toss her own; it seems as though all of her friends have found thei More...

I am completely and utterly in love with this book and pleasantly surprised. I read the books description and thought it sounded like a cute, fun read. I had no idea it would be a tear jerker as well with a sad twist n the middle left me in shock. I really liked the character of Daphne and trying to recover from a past that has left her hurt and damaged due to a college boyfriend. I wanted nothing more for her and Mayson to have their happy endin More...

I loved Bouquet Toss, so much so, that I read it in one night! All the characters were relatable (even though Mayson was a tool). The series of dates that Daphne goes on are hysterical. The story was not complicated, but had enough substance to be entertaining. I liked that I felt a connection to Daphne and the emotional ride she was on. I wanted her to fight for Tanner and she did a fabulous job of doing it! I recommended it to my friends, who also enjoyed it.
Great job Melissa! I liked Tanner, More...

“I’m a hopeless romantic, I guess I’m always thinking of Happily Ever Afters.”

Ahhh…falling in love, it’s one of the best feelings in the world. But falling in love for the very first time is the one that cuts the deepest and stays with us for a long time. For Daphne Harper, Mayson Holt, is her first and one great love. He's also the guy that stole her heart, broke it, and then just walked right out of her life. Although she still feels the heartache from that More...

This book is one of the sweetest love stories I've read in a long time. It was of a more traditional and even chivalrous nature and I for one found that refreshingly unique.

Daphne, the heroine, viewed herself as a quirky yet intelligent redhead, although she easily caught the attention of many male suitors. It was her choice of one guy, however, who ultimately carved a serious piece of real estate in her always, too sensitive, heart. Daphne's choices from here on out are sometimes typical, yet More...

Have you ever wondered about your first love? Where are they, what are they doing, do they still think about you? Well Daphne Harper's been wondering that for the last 3 years. Mayson was her first love and the one that got away. Their relationship was never an easy one and ended badly. While she tries to find the one, Mayson is still the man she thinks about. When Daphne finally decides to move on, knowing she has to, Mayson unexpectedly comes back into her life. Does she take a chance on him a More...

Bouquet Toss was such an enjoyable book for me to read!!
Throughout the story we follow Daphne on her quest to find the perfect male. A male that she can settle down with; she's tired of always being the one catching the bouquet as receptions. When will it be her turn to be the bride?
But Bouquet Toss isn't a light fluffy read it has some heartache, pain, tears.<--- And that's just where I want to see my angst at. In books! Can't get enough!!!
Most importantly it has romance. If I'm reading a More...

I really enjoyed this fabulous story. The characters in this book are very life like and lovable. You can't help but fall in love them.
Daphne is in love with the idea of love.So much so that she is blinded by the man she thinks she is in love with. Mayson is her collage
first love, first everything. She falls in love with Mayson only to have him break her heart. He dumps her after their whirl wind relationship.Daphne is heartbroken. She can not get over him. Five years pass and she is still single and More...

A must read!! The U of I, Legends and Green Street references had me loving the book right from the start (2003 UIUC Graduate...Go Illini!!! Wondering if Mayson and I lived in the same apartment on Green Street :) but the story was fantastic. There were times I wanted to smack Daphne but I think her emotions and were true. I think we all can relate to our own "coulda, woulda, shoulda". Thanks for a great read Melissa! Looking forward to reading more of your work.

"It's not that I don't believe in true love but, how do you know when someone truly is "the one?" Can you ever really know?"

I've been thinking about this review for a few days now and still not sure how to start. I really liked the blurb on this book and eagerly anticipated it's release but it wasn't what I expected. I suppose I expected a nice light romance read but I got more than that.
It was a story of love, regrets, of what-ifs, of lost loves, of choices and of taking nothing for gr More...

Bouquet Toss was a beautifully written, gut-wrenching twist on first loves and letting go. I thought back to my first love and there is so much truth to first loves always holding on to a piece of us and how all loves that follow get compared to them. This book dealt with one woman’s struggle to deal with losing her first love, even years later, and what happens when he suddenly walks back into her life.

Daphne is a twenty-something with a great sense of humor and a picture perfect ideal of what More...

Ok, full disclosure, my niece wrote this book, BUT, I really did enjoy the story. There is a lot of emotional depth to the characters, the dialogue is fun and I laughed aloud several times. The main character, Daphne, has her life turned upside down and righted again, but the journey she takes us on is very worthwhile. The supporting cast is well written and their roles in the story are important. I think we've all walked in her shoes at one time or another, I know I have for sure. It's relatabl More...

If you have ever had your heart broken or fallen in love with the wrong guy, then this book is for you! Wow. What an emotional roller coaster. This book gets 4 stars for 2 main reasons...one the whole thing with Mayson was such an absolutely shocking heart wrenching twist and I still have a hard time reconciling that part of the book. I finished for the night a few chapters after he dies and I have to admit I had nightmares. It was really torturous. Once things picked up with Tanner I started to feel better about the story and it ended on an extremely high note though I still have More...

When I first read the summary for this book, I thought - wow, this is a story I can relate to. As someone who has caught a few wedding bouquets in her lifetime, I instantly felt a connection to Daphne's story. She's the young woman who everyone always has nice things to say about. From the outside it looks as though she has the complete package - so why isn't she the one tossing the wedding bouquet herself? Well, it' More...

Daphne is very much a hopeless romantic. She is forever catching the bouquet at weddings, but can never seem to catch Mr. Right. All she wants is to find the one she can spend her life with and will love her for who she is. Like most things, this is easier said than done. It is hard for her to completely live in the present because she is constantly thinking about her past. A past involving Mayson, the guy who she fell in love with and broke her heart years earlier.

Perpetual single girl, Daphne Harper’s love life is a mess. She is having a hard time moving on from her first love and any man who comes along is competing with the past as she struggles to move on. Being hung up on her first hasn’t made Daphne’s love life easy. There are a series of some bad dates and a few worthy men enter her life. An unexpected twist in the story changes everything but leaves Daphne struggling with finding and keeping the one man who could truly love her.

ok...after heavily debating tossing the kindle across the room wondering uf I could be so lucky to win a new one on one of my Authors fb pages, I determined my luck us not that good and kept on reading.

I wanted to wrap my arms around her shoulders and bang the living crap out of her with my head only to rear back and knock his butt out too!

NO book has EVER aggravated me so much.....but loved it all the same. not wanting to give spoilers...oh those twists!

I really enjoyed this book. I think everyone can sympathize with Daphne, loving someone so much that you're afraid to be yourself and look less than perfect. All the characters were so likable and well written. I'm excited to read the next book.
