“SEAL Team Six: Hunt the Scorpion” is the second in the SEAL Team series. This book continues to follow Tom Crocker, the team leader, as they search to see if there is any nuclear bomb building material in places where it should not be found. All the team members from the first book return in this one. Also, like the first book, this one is fast-paced and holds your attention. It is definitely a page turner.

As much as I like the characters and the story, I continue to have some issues with it. T

Hunt the Scorpion is the first book I have read in the Thomas Crocker Thriller. This is an action-packed book. When the MSC Contessa is hijacked by pirates, Crocker and his SEAL Team headed to stop the yellowcake (uranium) from falling into the wrong hands. His team is pulled from a mission and is sent to the east coast of Africa.

Even when Crocker and his SEAL Team have some downtime, they are still training. They can be hurt. Most stories show the main character as being invincible but Hunt th

Jake McCallum captain of the Contessa 450-foot cargo ship is sailing with his wife Tanya and crew off the east coast of Africa when pirates seeking money and valuables hijack the cargo ship. The pirates retrieve money from the ship’s safe and were about to assault Jack’s wife when three Middle Eastern men with weapons appear requesting to see Jake’s cargo area bringing everything to a halt.

Meanwhile, Crocker and his team of Ritchie, Mancini, Daly, Davis, and a new member Calvin are on assignment

Seal Team Six: Hunt the Scorpion is another good book by Don Mann and Ralph Pezzullo however it falls victim to the same issues that plagued the first novel in this series, Hunt the Wolf. The characters are great but the plot is a bit predictable and there is a lot of filler content that neither develops characters nor advances the plot. Much of the book can be skimmed rather than deeply read but it’s a fun book and Mann’s experience in the battlefield is evident as the combat moments in the boo ...more

It seems appropriate to post a book authored by a man who served his nation in a most trying role as a Navy Seal on today, Memorial Day. Thank you Don Mann for your service and Thank You all members of our Armed Services for your willingness to put your life on the line for your fellow Americans.

This is an action-adventure written by an actual Seal Team 6 member. There's a (so far) four book series starting Thomas Crocker a SEAL Team six team member. This volume takes place primarily in Libya.

Tom Crocker is the leader of Seal Team 6. He also married to a woman who works for the State Department. On one of her many travels she get kidnapped and Tom needs to finish one mission in order to find his wife over in the middle east. What he runs into during his missions can change his outlook on his job.

This book was actually quite good but really predictable. There was also too much going on that and too much information that bogged my mind down. It was almost too detaile

Perfectly chaotic and gut-churning, Don Mann’s Hunt the Scorpion mixes duty to and love of country with duty to and love of family in this fast-paced addition to the SEAL Team Six series.
The SEALs are on a mission against pirates who seek the critical ingredient in making nuclear bombs. Their mission? Free the hostages, capture the pirates and save the day, but this proves far more difficult than anticipated and when their mission is completed the terrorists strike back at Tom Crocker’s very hea

Hunt the Scorpion is the second book in Don Mann and Ralph Pezzullo SEAL Team Six novels. Thomas Crocker is back taking his team to one extreme to another last book it was climbing K2 this time it's the Marathon des Sables the 150+ mile footrace across the Sahara desert (That's crazy it's almost a week-long trek in up to 120 degree heat and through sandstorms where you carry everything you need on you.) Thomas Crocker and his team in this book are up against modern pirates and yet more terrorist ...more

This is the second book in the series and I found this story to be more focused and by the time you get half way through with it you almost forget what had happen in the beginning. They do start off running a marathon in the Sahara desert they don’t finish because they are called away for another mission. The team is still the same but you get a little more back ground information about each one. The story like I said really picks up at the half way point with non-stop action and Crocker having ...more

This second novel in the Seal Team Six series delivers on the action. Don Mann's military background lends itself well to the authenticity and believability of the novels. Once again, I found the detail included a little of a slow starter for me, but the story itself is well plotted, the twists and turns, some expected, some not, are woven seamlessly into the story and it flows well. The main Character and his relationships, both in and out of The Teams, are balanced well with the action/suspens ...more

Author Don Mann’s Seal Team Six series of books remind me of the serials in the “olden days,” such as the Doc Savage series, the Executioner or the Destroyer series. That is meant to be a good compliment as I loved those books as a kid and no series has stood the test of time like they do. The Seal Team Six series rarely, if ever, bogs down and the vernacular and everything in it is relevant. I was not surprised when I read one of the authors bio that he was the “real deal.” I will continue to r ...more

I learned a lot about post-Gaddafi Libya from this book.

Should I be embarrassed to admit that?

I received this book from Net Galley for my opinion on this book. This is the second book in the Tom Crocker series and it is a fast pace, high adrenaline, action packed book. I felt like I was watching a big blockbuster action movie while reading this book. Which I think is a good thing. Tom Crocker and his team never slow down, even when they are taking some RR from duty. The book starts off fast paced and ends fast paced. I still don't know how Tom Crocker is still alive after all he goes thr ...more

'Seal Team Six: Hunt The Scorpion' is the second book in the series, and it seems to suffer a bit from second book syndrome. Whether it founders from lack of new character development, or from the fact that it's setting up further storyline down the road, I'm not sure.

Tom Crocker and team find themselves in the thick of it again. After rescuing a cargo ship from suspicious pirates, they set off to run a crazy endurance race in the Sahara. When they get called off that and sent to Libya, things r

This book is looking at the instability in Libya and the conflict caused by the Arab Spring which left power vacuums in government and civil disorder in the Northern African Countries. This book describes the violence and tremulous nature of the environments of those war torn cities, and countries. It is interesting that because of his willingness to jump into the fray, this gun hoe warrior makes connections to help him solve the metamorphic situatio

Another great novel by Don Mann in the Thomas Crocker series. I received Hunt The Wolf via Goodreads Giveaway and was excited to receive Hunt The Scorpion as well. The author does a great job to build on the characters introduced and develop those introduced in this book.
I do quite enjoy that it can be read as a standalone and you don't necessarily need to have read the first to understand and grasp this one.
I don't read very many novels or thrillers for that matter, but this series and this a

A cargo ship is attacked by pirates. Seal Team Six is sent in to release the hostages and capture the pirates, a very simple assignment, or is it.
Why would pirates be unloading the cargo, the answer is parts to construct a Nuclear bomb!Switch locations and they are in Libya, their cover as inspectors of weapons sites. They soon discover the bomb and one of the members of the ship attackers, so seems things do circle.Crocker and his team take down the would be terrorist, only to discover that the m

SEAL TEAM SIX: HUNT FOR SCORPION A THOMAS CROCKER THRILLER is an exciting thriller. #2 in the "Seal Team Six",but can be read as a stand alone. I have not read either "Seal Team Six: Hunt the Wolf" or "Inside Seal Team Six" and I had no difficulties following the story. A high octane thriller from beginning to end. Follow, Seal Team Six on a journey of danger, pirates, search and rescue, nuclear weaponry, terrorist, danger, and action. A pulse-pounding thrill ride with a team of Seals you don't want ...more

DON Mann has been associated with the Navy SEALS for 30 years as a platoon member, assault team member, boat crew leader or advanced training officer. He was on active duty with SEAL Team 6 until 1998. And while there are many works of fiction written by former special forces soldiers, few are as visceral and realistic as this one. Don Mann’s book reads like an actual account of SEAL team 6 missions; the language, the action and the feeling of being right there with the team as they take down va ...more

Wow, just wow! This was a fast paced well crafted thriller. As the second in the series, it builds upon the characters from the first novel. The action was non stop and fully engaging. The author even payed homage to Michael Chrichton. Once I started this book, I just could not put it down. If you like Tom Clancy or Lee Child, you will love this book. I have added this author to my must read authors' list.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing an ARC.

Hunt the Scorpion starts off with a hijacking that leads to more military missions thwarted by the messed up political machinations of our allies. Filled with action and intrigue this novel is a definite page turner as you are led from one adventure to the next. My only misgivings about this book are the lack of depth given to the rest of the team. From both novels, we know everything there is to know about Crocker, however I still don’t know much about the rest of them. I am hoping that the thi ...more

An exciting vision of the clandestine operations of Seal Team Six. The story is extremely well-written and the characters are developed as real people' Once you start reading you are quickly hooked by the action and suspense. While the action is fiction, the stories are based in current events and the geopolitical environment of the mid-east. The action continues from the Somali coast to Libya, with brief breaks back to America. The story brings the reader as close to the action as could be.

CWO Thomas Crocker and his team of SEALS are operating in Libya trying to locate any possible weapons of mass destruction. His wife, Holly, is a State Department officer who is kidnapped while an a business trip to the middle east. Crocker has to carry on with his mission while trying to keep his worry about his wife's well being under control. Good story.

There is not a whole lot to say about this book. It is an action military fiction (hopefully all fiction) that takes place in the world during "the war on terror." The plot ties together well at the end and leads into the next book. I enjoyed how there was over 6 sentences to describe a gun while there was about 2 sentences to describe a couple about to have sex. A good exciting read.

I received a digital copy in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley.

I really love reading the Seal Team Six books... Every time I get into the characters in Don's books I feel like I'm reading a movie for the Expendables with as much personality and action are jam packed in the pages.
There is so much detail, and realism as well as genuine honest frankness that nothing is really over the top at all. Even those that can't understand military jargon or have difficulty picking up a book that'

Received a e-copy from www.Netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review.

Book 2 of this Tom Crocker series and gotta say, loved it! I really liked the fact that we see more of his personal life and challenges from balancing duty and life commitments.

Fast past, always technically sound and amazing detail that really makes you feel like you are right by Tom's side.

Well done, looking forward to Hunt the Falcon, book 3.

This book surprised me. I'm dubious when former operators decide to write novels loosely based on their experiences. And I'm doubly dubious when they are co-authored. I expect a certain humorless machismo to dominate, followed closely by an action-filled plot that leaves no time for the reader to get to know the characters. This book was intelligent, amusing, informative, and spiced up with interesting and believable characters. I liked it...felt concern and admiration for the characters, totall ...more

Recommends it for: Action Fans
Mann markets his books as action/adventure. That's exactly what you get. Moving quickly from one firefight to the next, Thomas Crocker and Seal Team 6 defy death and save the world from the evil plans of terrorists. Reminiscent of the writing of Vince Flynn and Brad Thor.

Well written quick read. An excellent kill time on an airplane book. Enjoyed the characters and plot. Will read more by this author

Seal Team 6 Hunt the Scorpion was a good book for people with high maturity due to some inappropriate seines. The plot was well thought out and had many twists and turns to the last page. Don Mann did a very good job at taking two plots and bringing them together at the end of the book. There were some scenes that don’t need to be added and are very inappropriate for young readers. The book shares the same characters as the last book and adds more into it. Over all I thought the book was a good ...more
