lots and lots of info on beauty products, exercises, diets, everything to keep you young and healthy
i don't have the energy to read the whole book, nevermind actually follow a 7-week plan
i learned from this book just how lazy i am...
So far I am not impressed. I thought this book, which was expensive (around $45 for shipping, etc.) would be my GO TO book for everything. I was a little overwhelmed with reading about how I should care for my skin and face in narrative form.
I am trying to use a fiction then a non-fiction book rotation for my reading so let's see how that goes. This was my non-fiction book that I started last summer and I read a chapter here and there. I read the last 5 chapters this past week and enjoyed the tips and strategies to live healthier. I am not a vain person and focused on the fitness and healthy eating chapters; I particularly liked the "Say Goodbye to Stress" (right!) chapter and the "Your Brain-Only Better" chapter. I plan yo use some ...more
There isn't anything here that you couldn't pick up by reading the occasional fashion magazine.

I'm reviewing “7 Years Younger: The Revolutionary 7-Week Anti-Aging Plan” by the Editors of Good Housekeeping before I give it to my wife. When I was asked to consider reviewing the book, I'll admit, one of the reasons I wanted to check it out and give it to my wife is because of the endorsement by Dr. Oz. I've read all of his YOU books and like him. So I figured I'd check out this book, read it first, and then give it to my wife to read and try out some of the tips, suggestions and strategies t ...more

7 Years Younger

7 YEARS YOUNGER: The Revolutionary 7-Week Anti-Aging Plan is a new book by the editors of Good Housekeeping magazine. Based on extensive product research conducted by the Good Housekeeping Research Institute on hundreds of volunteers, plus interviews with 100+ experts including dermatologists, brain scientists, stress reduction researchers, exercise experts, makeup artists, hairstylists, nutritionists, life coaches, and psychologists, the book delivers a pr

I am really excited about sharing this book with you and I think it's the perfect time for a little change in our lives for this new year! Who doesn't want to look and feel their best? I know I do! This book starts out with a pledge for you to take and is then divided into 11 chapters. The first 7 chapters focus on the 7 age erasers. They give a wealth of information and tips for your skin, makeup, hair, diet, fitness, brain, and reducing stress. The next few chapters include a jumpstart plan, t
This book issued by Good Housekeeping is primarily geared towards the 30 to 50 year old young woman with recommendations for health, diet, exercise and makeup. As regards the latter, they provide information on products which have tested favorably in their labs. Although long past that age group I found some of their recommendations and products to be very helpful.

You know everything they write but well-presented. How to stay focused on their suggestions is the problem.
Lots of excellent information.
I wanted a book that would tell me how to better care for my skin and this book did just that. I read the entire book and enjoyed it, but it isn't anything revolutionary----eat well, exercise, destress, etc....! I'm not sure the program is actually "do-able" for the every day woman/mom/employee since it seems quite time and labor intensive; however, if you just take 2-3 things away from the book and start applying them, I'm sure it will help tremendously! But do them all in 7 weeks---bahahaha!
Some good tips, yet they were mostly chemical-based, not holistic or healthy overall. I felt like this was all about societal expectations of what being and looking "your best" means, rather than the reality that looking & feeling your best begins at the core with nutrition, exercise, and homeopathy. This book tells you how to mask things with make-up, Botox, and chemicals rather than how to recognize harmful patterns and take the steps to better yourself through natural (healthier) methods.

This book came along at a great time for me. Since going back to work, I've been really lazy with my routine, taking minimal care of myself. I've ordered several (well actually a lot more than several) of the recommended products for hair & skin. They are all working great. Diet & exercise sections don't really have anything new, which is why only 4 stars. The format is a little repetitive, but still, I've gotten a lot of great tips from this.

Recommends it for: women
Nothing earth-shattering but straight-forward, easy to read, practical advice. Basically, eat healthy foods, drink plenty of water, exercise, keep your mind active, moisturize, use sunscreen, and update your makeup, hair and wardrobe so that you don't get stuck in the last decade!

My big take-aways: Don't multi-task! I am very guilty of this one! Apply my blush a little higher than I have been and go to bed earlier than I currently do!
Revolutionary? Not so much. A nice comprehensive review of every woman's magazine you've ever read. I'm glad I borrowed it from the library rather than purchased it. Good for a jump start on focusing on a healthier lifestyle.
Nothing new here. Lose weight, exercise, exfoliate, wear sun screen, get enough sleep, etc. etc. Yes, I know they are all things I should do. All are good suggestions, just nothing exciting I haven't already read in countless women's magazines articles. I guess I should have suspected this since it listed as being "by Good Housekeeping". I was not expecting any miracle program, but I was expecting some fresh and new ideas.
The Revolutionary 7 week anti-aging plan--it's a little bit of everything. Skin, makeup, exercise, hair, food--I could've just read this and not all those hundreds of self-help books I've read over the years. The recipes look good and the advice on makeup and hair do too. Now the hard part--following it, sticking to the plan--don't think so--this is kinda like a cookbook--I don't make the recipes either.
Nothing special, like the hype on the internet would indicate. Accept for the make up and skin care tips , The Hormone Diet is a better choice. The diet is heavy on wheat and dairy, two items that many women need to keep away from. Wheat makes many of us bloaty and dairy is the culprit of adult acne.
Think of every hyperbolic, florid magazine article you've ever read about 'looking younger' and compile them in a book. I've always suspected that the "Best Beauty Finds!" in magazines are nothing more than sneaky advertising: space and mention go to the highest bidder. Ditto this book.
Good Housekeeping tested and rated a whole bunch of products on the market, so you'll like this if you want to know the best performing shampoo for colored hair for example, or the best body bronzers or wrinkle creams etc etc
Nothing new in this book about dieting and eating healthy. Presentation is interesting, with some suggestions for beauty products and extensive menus for the 7 week period.
Most of the information in this book is common sense. I did get 2 recommendations from it that I'll add to my lifestyle though.
Anissa C.

Very informative and motivating. Helps reinforce and refresh my thoughts on healthy and healthier habits.
Website: The book is best suited for those 40+. It's worth a skim- pick up some tips.
There are some very good ideas in this book but darn, I only look three years younger after having read it!
Susan Schuler
Many great tips and ideas. I have committed to some! Let's see if I look any younger--time will tell.
Excellent tool. Based on a lot of research. I highly recommend.
