This was a great sequel to RJ Scott's paranormal romance book, Oracle. Alex is carrying out his ambitious plan to retrieve objects that he stole with his former lover Edward and return them to where he had stolen them from. Alex is right in the middle of replacing an ancient Greek tablet when an old nemesis shows up at the same museum. Alex has no idea what Dragan wants but he knows that it cannot be good. Things get a little dicey i
Really nice follow up to the first book. Was good to see all the guys again although I missed that Chris and Griff didn't get as much of their own scenes in this one. As a history buff, I also enjoyed the historical story that was present like in the first book. The combination of a DaVinci Code type story mixed with a M/M romance is what I have been looking for. Although this one wasn't long or in depth enough to meet that, it was a nice taste of what could be in a series I continue to yearn fo ...more

I’ll say first that I haven’t read the first book of this series. I didn’t actually realize it was a series until I started reading and oops, yea book two. You certainly can read this one without reading the first book, as I did, but there is so much missing information that I wouldn’t suggest it. There is no independent character development – I assume it all takes place in the previous book – and the plot is incredibly complicated for no real reason. The end result after a madcap of heists, es ...more

The (by me) much-awaited sequel to Oracle certainly didn’t disappoint. Seeing Alex "be good" and return the artifacts he had previously "borrowed" was great fun, and the interplay between him and Luke was loving and romantic. Some of the background and history hinted at in the first book was added to and deepened, while new threats and challenges abounded.

Finding Alex struggling with life, and with what he needs to do, in the absence of his abilities was certainly new and different. Luckily, all

3.5 stars round up.

The plot felt much grander in the beginning but it boiled down to personal matter as the story progress toward conclusion.

For me, this one read somewhat smoother than the previous book but still, everything felt rather heavy-handed. (view spoiler)

We get back to Luke and Alex and Griff and Chris in Book two.....Alex is replacing things he stole and amazingly some of his powers are back.....I enjoyed this one as much as the first...I love Alex and Luke together and even though Luke has to cope with another kidnapping Alex is always there to help him..a really great read and totally different to what i'm used to.....Love R.J's books x

Wonderful. Great action & danger, characters, plot, pacing, etc. Only drawback was that the ending was a little lame as was Griff's reason for breaking into things again.

Not quite as catchy as the first book, but I still love all the characters. 3.5 stars
This book lacks a little bit of explanation for me to truly enjoy it. I still loved the four boyos and the history elements of this story, but Alex’s powers and what’s going on this time around weren’t as clear as in the first book. I was left with a lot of questions of why and felt like I basically had to just accept that that was the status quo rather than truly understanding the situation.

Alex is determined to right the wrongs he did with his ex and their stealing. Only now he’s returning ev

Sometimes it takes a thief to help a thief. Alex is slowly returning the objects he once stole when he runs into an old adversary. Dragan is an ex-serbian mafia type that helped save Alex’s life and now he wants payment on that favor. It’ll take Luke, Alex’s lover, as well as their friends Chris and Griff and enormous amounts of luck, with a little magic, to make this heist work.

This book is not quite as good as Oracle, which is a must read if you like paranormal/thrillers.PLEASE read my review here, it's INCREDIBLE

And by paranormal I don't mean shifters or vamps (which I don't mind) but paranormal from ancient Greek God's. If you like interesting books from this sort of genre then all I can say is please read my review of book one even if you're not a R.J Scott fan. I haven't read other books from this author but I get the feelin

I enjoyed the follow up to Oracle. Alex is trying to past right wrongs and missing/reveling in being free of his magic. Luke is settling into life with Alex and his need to right wrongs in the same way that he did them. Life is never that simple for these two though. Magic is still in their life. I do like watching how these two deal with the complications that life throws at them. This time it is an old acquaintance of Alex's. There is plenty of action but for all that I didn't think this one w ...more

Interesting sequel to Oracle (Oracle, #1) by R.J. Scott, story appeared somewhat contrived though. I felt cheated out of the very thing that makes Alex the Cat Burglar so enticing: his burglaries, happened mostly off-page.
Luke remained very pale and flat this time.
Giving Alex his powers back was inevitable; I'm curious to see how this is going to be explained.
The villain was so-so; Lord Arriseth was better!
