Brenna is used to both moving every three months and no one remembering her, especially after a couple of minutes. We start the story with her trying to get a summer assignment from her most current teacher and him not knowing who she is and why she is in his class. It just gets worse from there when both Brenna and her mother are kicked out of the house that they are squatting in. They end up going back to her mother’s home but there is something strange going on.

Wow – when I saw that Brenna and the Horses of Lusayana was a children’s book I thought it would have a simple plot. Not the case, in fact this book requires the reader’s full attention as the main character, a twelve-year old girl named Brenna, is drawn into a complex quest to learn about her past in the hopes of breaking a centuries-old family curse and saving her mother’s life.

The story is a fantasy set in a rugged coastal landscape in the United Kingdom where Brenna is guided through a trea

A great children's story but too fanciful for me, with too little character development. rather fairy tale like.

Brenna and the Horses of Lusayana by author Lee Landes is a fantasy adventure novel aimed at children ages 9-12. Where you might think a children’s novel may keep its plot simple, Brenna is a book that require a reader’s entire attention. In this thrilling adventure, Brenna discovers a family history that her mother tried desperately to hide from her. The plot is filled with twists that keep even a reader beyond the age of twelve interested in Brenna’s story.

Lee Landes is a children's author living in West Sussex, UK.
Her debut novel, Brenna and the Horses of Lusayana is out now on Amazon Kindle. It's aimed at the 9-12 age group but would be enjoyed by anyone as it's a mystery and an adventure.

She loves feisty heroines and Brenna MacLean is daring, impetuous and never gives up.

Lee has a golden spaniel Finch who appears in her novel as Orion the pathfi
