Just checking out the other reviews I am shocked! Why so high? I think it is because most reviewers have watched the TV series about this case. I read this book first and then tried 1 episode but the acting was so over the top. Could not finish.
I did finish this book but thought it not very good at all.
First of all I did not know anything about this case and the way it was explained was not very informative.

I think the book would have been better if she has written it in chronological order. Mar...more

I am a big fan of the TV series Switched at Birth and so it is not surprising that I found myself going gaga over getting a copy of the book when it first came out. For those of you who haven't seen the show and intends to read the book, I recommend you watch the show first before reading the book, as it will make the book more alive and compelling. While most tv shows first came in book form and was later on made into a show, this one is the reverse. The TV show came out first and in the the st...more

I loved seeing a book that is talked about as real on a show actually BECOME real. Kathryn's book is something I would gladly buy again. I had no real issues with it other than most of the book has already been seen. But that's the point of it, in a way. There were stories in it that were never mentioned on the show, so the new material was pleasing. I'd hoped when I bought the book that it would be longer, 300 or so pages. I was shocked to learn that it was only 100-something pages. But Kathryn...more

I thought the book was written pretty well for a fictional character. The book was written for the people that primarily watch ABC Family. It was an easy read for me. I finished this in 3 nights. I just wish more of the book was revealed from Regina's POV. It was nice to read about Kathryn, John, Toby and Bay's real feelings related to the baby switch. I now understand Kathryn's strained relationship with her mother. I'm glad Kathryn is the kind of mother Toby, Bay and Daphne need. It was nice r...more

Okay so I absolutely love the show Switched at Birth. I watch it everytime its on and own all the DVD's. So of course I had to by the book that the mom has been been writing on the show. I was expected some extra scenes us tv watchers have never seen, but no, it was literally just a summary of the first season. This bored me and made me...more

I was a little skeptical whether I would enjoy a book written as a result of a tv series. But I did enjoy this one. It basically covers the first season of the show through the first year, from the point of view of Kathryn Kennish. Kathryn is one of the mothers involved int he switch. It actually gave some more depth to the story already told through the tv show.

I don't actually have the book in my shelf. But I ordered it on Amazon! In the series, Kathryn writes a book about her journey. It is cool how they say the author is Kathryn Kennish when it is not! They make it seem like it is really Kathryn who is the author!

The book is written from the mothers point of view. And it gives away little interesting details that you can not find in the series!

I think this book is as interesting as the series!

I LOVE the show so it was only expected that I read this book. I did enjoy it because I have been following the show. It's not the best written book that I've read tho.
It does stay true to the show though which I did like. If you like the show you'll enjoy the book

Only really for fans of the show (which I am) not much in way of things you don't see happen in the show but I am a sucker for books that extend a show's "universe" as it were.

Well, I love the series and I was very excited about the book. I thought it would include more details and actually I expected it to be more dramatic. It was an ok quick read but it wasn't realistic at all.

This book got great reviews, while I couldn't even finish it! While the premise was interesting, I found everyone to be unlike able and I give up almost 3/4 of the way through.

This book took me on a terrific journey. I laughed and cried. I read the whole book in a few short hours. I couldn't put it down.

{my thoughts} - I enjoyed this book It helped to give more insight on where Kathryn sits in the whole {switched at birth} issue. It helps to see what has happened to their family since it had been discovered. It also helps to show that nothing can stand in the way of a parents {mothers} love for their children.

{reason for reading} - I watch the show on {abc family}
