When I first heard about this book, I was all like...
Sweet heavens! Jerks are the way to my heart!

Then I started reading and I was like...

Jack Carter, you are on the top of my Jerk of My Dreams shelf, first in line and all the way to the left. You're sitting right next to Jack Howard from the Avoiding series. Trust me buddy, that's a good thing.

Seriously.

I absolutely adore the feeling you get when you've found an incredibly fan-f*cking-tastic book. A book that takes you from happy, to thrilled, to anxious, to sad, to gutted, to depressed, to on top of the freaking world. An amazing book to me, is a book that I will remember almost every moment once I've read it. It's a book that devours my heart, soul and mind. It sticks with me and when it ends I want to cry because I'm so attached to each of the characters, that the thought...more

Sometimes I feel exactly like Julia Roberts, except my hair is a very unique shade of red (called brown), my lips are in proportion to my body and I would never ever teach Richard Gere how to drive a stick. So why birth this randomness?? Because every time I start a review, I kind of feel like Julia Roberts at the beginning of My Best Friend's Wedding. She slowly takes a bite, pauses, then says..."I'm writing this up as inventive...and confident." Well, a few days ago I took a rather big bite ou...more

Loved it!

I love romance and I love baseball, so when you put the two together, I’m all over it. So with that said, I can’t believe that I balked at reading this!

I was hooked from page one. I couldn’t put it down. I even read it while watching game 7 of the NLCS between the San Francisco Giants & the St. Louis Cardinals…which made for an interesting soundtrack to the book.

(view spoiler)[When Jack cheated, I worried that I would hate him. Because one thing I can’t stand is cheaters. But, I di...more

totally undecided on this book..there where things i liked and things i didn't! (view spoiler)[ one of those being when Jack cheated I usually like some kind of drama but this just didn't fit with my idea of Jack and I just felt like it was totally unforgivable and he didn't redeem himself enough! Usually when the guy cheats I feel like its forgivable but I just didn't feel like that here (hide spoiler)] There were some very cute moments and I loved Jack and Cass as a couple and once they where...more

Whew... I need a few days to recover fromt his one. Oh Jack... I am officially banning myself from any books with a 'Jack'. They are going to be the death of me.

I am uping to this to a 5 star! Why?? Jenn Sterling ROCKS!! The emotional toll it took on me proves this is a great read. This brought out my anger, hulk green mean anger and to me that makes a great book! I am going to continue to stalk Jenn and hope there is a book 2 one day. Jack Carter has yet to fully win me over.

After thinking about it for a couple of days my rating has been bumped up. ~ The first half of the book was good although I thought Jack and Cassie got together too quickly. The second half of the book, about 60% in, made me so sick that I wanted to jump in my iPad and punch Jack! What he did, and he knew exactly what he was doing, was just so awful my heart broke. Seriously my heart was racing the entire time and then it was shattered. The way he handled the situation...EVEN WORSE! I hated him...more

This book made me smile, laugh, love, cry, scream, freak the hell out, and in the end--fall in love again. There was a second there I was worried, but the ending was beautifully perfect & about as romantic as one could get.

I loved the built up for Jack and Cassie--the start of their relationship, and how hard Jack had to work, for probably the first time in his life, for Cassie. It felt real, and not once did you doubt his love for her.

I loved having Jacks POV. I think it made the story "m...more

Oh boy. Where do I start with this book? I had a pretty good idea what happens in this book before I started it. What I didn't realize, however, is how emotionally involved I would get. Ms. Sterling made me fall in love with this couple, then ripped my heart out, and then put it back together. What an exhausting, crazy, emotional rollercoaster ride this story turned out to be.

After reading over 200 books, I have finally decided to write my first review.

I'm not real sure where my thoughts are on this book. I had very high expectations for it, and sadly I'm also a little disappointed.

For me, this book was too similar to Beautiful Disaster and because of that, it was hard for me to get into this book since Beautiful Disaster happens to be one of my favorite books. I felt there wasn't a lot of development between the characters in the beginning of the book. It was almo...more

I couldn't put this book down! I read it in one LONG sitting! I loved the fast pace of the book because I just couldn't wait to find out what happens next. There was no long drawn out story lines or dialogue. It was straight to the point and I loved that! I fell hard for bad boy, star baseball player Jack, what girl wouldn't? He was sexy and a ball player, what is better then that? As a baseball fan I appreciated all the baseball aspects of the b...more

SPOILER ALERT

I'll start by saying overall this book was a good, easy, contemporary read.. I usually love the ones centered around people in college etc.
I absolutely loved the characters in the beginning, with Jack's protective, overbearing, loving, passionate and cocky attitude and Cassies "kittens" tough, beautiful and strong personality.

The storyline was going so well.. and then BAM, the cheating incident occurred. I'll admit the way it happened seemed pretty believable to me, and I can unders...more

THIS BOOK...... IS JUST..... **SHAKES HEAD*..... READ IT!

He exhaled. “You’re my game changer, you know that?”
“Game changer?” I shook my head, unsure of his meaning.
“The one girl who changes everything. The one you’d give it all up for.” He brushed his thumb down my cheek.

So... Jack Carter had enough charm and attitude to get anyone... Even Cassie although she wouldn't admit it at first. I loved that quote, Cassie in the end came so mean more to him than baseball and even though they were both...more

This book is wrong in so many levels. I am not going to write a review now because I don't have anything respectful to say. Later maybe.

**UPDATE**

I chose to read this book when I heard it was somehow similar to Beautiful Disaster since they both had bad tempered main characters and everything. I generally don't mind bad [fictional] boys. They are hot and since I enjoyed Beautiful Disaster so much, I was so excited to start this book. Boy, never have I ever been so disappointed! Everything about...more

SPOILERS AHEAD. Read at your own risk.

Let me get this off my chest first. Honestly, I don't know much about baseball other than what I see while channel hopping on TV.

As far as I know, its popularity hasn't even reached my country yet. Lack of wide media coverage for the national team is a proof. (I actually googled if we even have a national team.)

So a professional college baseball player doesn't really excite me that much. But I thought, as long as the hero has one thing he's passionate about,...more

YYEESSS!!! FINALLY a book that for one reason or another I did not hate the heroine! In fact I LOVED Cassie!I knew before reading this book is was going to be awesome. The peeks Ms. Sterling gave us of this book before it was released confirmed that. But I have to admit it was even more than I expected! It is definitely one of my favorites this year. And now on with my review...

Welcome to my review of THE PERFECT GAME

There is a few things I want to say about the author of this book before I get started .
This is J.sterlings 3rd book . She wrote 2 other books in the YA genre .
In Dreams & Chance Encounters. Both are great books

I loved this book, and I'm actually surprised I did. I know that sounds bad, but I normally wouldn't like the *incident* that happens in this one, but for some reason it totally worked. Well not for 'some' reason, the reason was that I absolutely fell in love with Jack... and Cassie for that matter! J. Sterling did an AMAZING job of introducing these characters, giving a great back story, using witty (and realistic) dialogue and letting the characters showcase their personalities. Gotta love those sports-themed romances. This one kept me cheering for the pitcher and the photographer all afternoon. After lots of witty banter, great romance, and a few tears, I thoroughly enjoyed the HEA and the Perfect Game.

Root Root Root for this couple if they don’t win it’s a shame. For it’s Jack and Cassie’s love for one another that wins this game!

Jack was the most popular and wanted guy in college. A shooting star headed straight for a career in professional baseball. Girls fell all over him and he gladly reciprocated their attention until he met Cassie Andrews.

Cassie was everything Jack never knew he wanted. She was his "game changer". She became his first love and for the first time in his life he attempt...more

Dear Ms. Sterling,

LOVED THIS Book!!

I had a LOVE and HATE relationship with JACK CARTER ♥.. he made MAD! I cried of ANGER and screamed at my NOOK a couple of times. Oh and i read the book in one night =).
Daman JACK CARTER <3 had me all over the place.

The chemistry between him & Cassie "kitten" was sigh" .. I felt like smacking her a couple of times, but understood her, and her issues..

Beautiful Amazing book;) A MUST READ!!

The Perfect Game, was an inevitable let-down. At first, I felt like I got rammed with a truckload full of angry, bitter emotions. I’d told myself to stay away from this book, but against my better judgment, I succumbed to hope (and all the great feedback on GR). I thought maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. In some ways, it was worse, but in other ways, it exceeded my expectations. I had a hard time rating this book.

First, my biggest issue was with Jack’s inexcusable, unspeakable mistake. After his bud...more

HOLY CRAP THAT WAS GREAT.
While reading this book I had a love switch for Jack that turns on and off every time he does sweet or crappy things.
I'm not really a fan of long distance relationships but I adored this book for making me understand how really hard it is to have one.
And yes, I've learned a lot from this book about handling relationships. I've bookmarked a lot of pages from this book but here's my all time favorite:
