I have never exactly liked chess but this murder mystery related with chess is one of the most amazing stories I have ever read. The finesse of the story, the flawless theme, the beautifully described characters, the underlying love story, everything makes "Even Dead Men play chess" a really intriguing book to read.

An enjoyable murder mystery with engaging characters and danger.

As a chess teacher Ray Gordon meets many interesting people, from the kids at the Brookstone Youth Center he volunteers at to retired men who just enjoy the game. It is through chess that he meets Walter, an older man who enjoys playing chess as much as he enjoys woodworking in his shop.
