This is book 3 of the Newport Ladies Book club. There are currently 4 books to this series with 4 different authors.

What I like about these books is that they can be read as a series or stand alone individually as books. So far the 3 books-Olivia, Daisy and now Paige have taken place during the same time period. Its really cool to read about some of the same events from the different womens views. I like that these books are Christian based but not preachy-just great clean fiction!

This third book in the Newport Ladies Book Club series is my favorite so far. The writing in all of the books has been excellent, but I related to Paige in many ways, and could definitely see myself being friends with someone like her. Thankfully, many of our similarities were the good parts of Paige's life. The hardships she was facing made me count my blessings.

Paige's husband was unfaithful, which lead to a divorce. She's raising her two young boys on her own in a new state. There are so many
If I hadn't already read this story twice before, I would have ranked it much higher. I can't say that I particularly like reading the same story over and over, just told from a different point of view. Nothing new happens; we just get some of the events from the other books fleshed out more. I think some women, who are really fond of "women's fiction," will enjoy this, afterall Annette Lyon is an excellent writer and her skill shows in this book. I just found the repetition not to my taste.
I have been eagerly anticipating this book for the last two months. I have to say that it was a decent read, but that I didn't find that it measured up to my favorite book in the series, Olivia. I found that the main character, Paige, seemed to be stuck in the same place during most of the book. Oliva, I felt, grew a lot during the process of the book, instead of staying fairly static in her personal outlook. So, good but not great book, in my humble opinion. (Grade: "B-".)
I completely enjoyed reading this addition to the Newport Ladies Book Club series. Annette Lyon wrote with just enough humor to keep things light along the way even though the leading character Paige is struggling with the challenges in her life. I especially loved her silent thoughts in italics throughout the story. As a mother I could relate to her tender feelings for her children and laughed outloud at times. Thank you for another wonderful read!

This is the third installment of the Newport Ladies Book Club series where we get to know Paige a little bit better. I was really looking forward to reading about Paige based on the glimpse I had of her in the other books, Olivia and Daisy.

When I received instructions and information on reviewing this series, I was given the caution that not every book has a happily ever after ending. They weren't kidding about that. This women's fiction series deals with very real life situations and we all kn

After having read Olivia, I wasn't sure how I felt about the character of Paige. I saw her as this mousy little girl who was a stereotypical late-20s Mormon mom. But then I read Daisy and saw her stand up for herself against a very pissed off Daisy and thought "This chick just got a lot cooler." So I was much more excited to read Paige, looking forward to her viewpoint of that face off.

Author Annette Lyon captures the story of Paige, a young, newly divorced mother with two little kids, with heartfelt emotion. Paige needs a new start, for both herself and her two boys. Her husband cheated on her, divorced her, and to rub salt into the wound, has already remarried. Moving from Utah to California, Paige re-invents her life. She gets a new job, a new apartment, and joins a book club. It's been years since she's done anything for just herself, and reading books is one thing she's g ...more

The Newport Ladies Book Club series (http://thenewportladiesbookclub.blogs...) is written by four authors, each illuminating the point of view of one of the members of the book club. PAIGE is the third of the first four books (Olivia and Daisy came out earlier this year, and ATHENA will be released later in 2012). There will be four more books featuring the four other women in the book club.

The first four books occur simultaneously, so there is some repetition (certain conversations and meetings
When I first started the book I was worried because we are going over the same events from the other two books in the series, but I worried needlessly. It definitely sucked me in right from the start.

In this book we delve into Paige's background, a woman who has recently divorced when she caught her husband cheating on her. It is an emotional journey as Paige tries to carve out a new life for herself and her boys. There were scenes that were so gut-wrenchingly emotional to read, like when she ha

Paige, book #3 in The Newport Ladies Book Club Series is another winner! Each book in this series is by a different author, so not a sequel or prequel. They are really a shift in point of view that lets us not only see events from the characters observation, but lets us know their understanding and thoughts and interpretations—which are not always correct, by the way. Just like real life. The premise—looking at the same four months in the book club from four different points of view—is increasin ...more
I knew a lot about Paige from reading the first two books, Olivia and Daisy. I knew the facts, but had to prepare myself for the emotions that would come from reading this book. You see, Paige is the story of a single, LDS, working Mom. That also describes my life right now. Author Annette Lyon captures all of the ups and downs of being a single Mom. I have to admit that I cried a lot as I read this book. The most gut-wrenching scene in the book takes place at Christmas time. Paige has to send ...more
Sometimes, we need to fall in order to be reminded how strong we truly are. But this can be hard to remember when we feel we have done everything we can to be our best, and we still end up hurt.

Paige finds herself trying to adjust to a new life in a new town with her two young boys after her husband leaves her for his mistress. Amidst the heartbreak and bitterness, she joins a book club where she makes life-long friends and starts a new job where she meets Derryl, a man who actually treats her

First line:

"I sat on a padded bench on one side of the chapel with my boys."

I'm really enjoying the Newport Ladies Book Club series. This is the third book I've read and totally love reading the characters viewpoints from one book to the next.

Paige is a newly divorced LDS mother of two. Her husband cheated on her, divorced her and married "the other woman." Punk.

Paige is kind, insightful and service-oriented. She helps her new friends even when she's busy with her own problems and life. Like,
Paige is the third book in the Newport Ladies Book Club series and is written by a different author as all the books have, and will be.
While reading about Paige it was interesting to see that Olivia, Daisy, and also Athena (that book comes out around November) seem to lean on Paige and confide in her compared to each other. I learned far more about Athena as well in this book then I did in the other two.
Paige is a strength for single mother's and divorced women out there. If you are one of tho

Paige by Annette Lyon

Paige is a young, single mom who has moved from Utah to Newport Beach with her two "little men" seeking a new life.

Injured by the heartbreak and injustice of an unfaithful husband and friend, Paige learns that giving service and support to a group of new friends found in a book club, brings strength into her own life.

As the only LDS member of the group, Paige has an objective understanding of the Atonement that she can strengthen others with, but has yet to apply it in her o
Another good read from the authors of The Newport Ladies Book Club series.

Paige is a young newly divorced mother struggling to provide a loving nurturing home for her little boys. She is struggling with making enough money to provide the basics for her little family. I thought it was interesting how she gave up almost "everything" she had a right to in the divorce just so she could have custody of her boys. When you are hurt and damaged looking at what will be best down the road is hard to do.

I have read all three of the Newport Ladies Book Club books and loved every one of them! This one was easier for me to connect to, being a Mormon mom! Luckily, I have not been in her situation, but I sure had enough information to understand better how she felt! I read tons of books, so I have no problem diving into a book that is just seen from another person's perspective, because I don't have the other two books memorized! I understand why others might not enjoy them due to that, but I really ...more
Definitely my favorite!

Paige, the third published book in the Newport Ladies Book Club series, was my favorite book in the series so far. Through Paige, Annette Lyon does a compelling job of showing readers how really difficult being a new single mother is. She adroitly show us how Paige must not only navigate a new job and a new place to live, but also navigate through the guilt, anger, and hurt she feels because of her recent divorce.

When change is needed in her life, Paige and her two little boys move to California to start their life without her unfaithful ex-husband. She needs to know who she is as a woman and if she can give her boys what they need on her own? She decides to join a book club in hopes of making new friends—ones who wouldn’t judge her. Paige is the third installment in The Newport Ladies Book Club series. I love reading about each character more in depth. Each book deals with a woman in a book club and takes place during the same period of time--the reader just gets a different perspective.

Paige is a recently divorced LDS woman who is making a new start for herself and her two small boys. She quickly comes to rely on the new friendships of the woman in this book club and is also there for each of them. I liked Paige and my h

Yeah! Paige arrived! After reading Olivia and Daisy I felt like a friend was waiting for me in the mailbox. I had to pause the book I was reading to see Paige's side of the story. Can I just say I loved that she was called to Nursery? I felt like I was the single mother rebuilding her life by sharing Paige's story. I don't want to give any of it way, but reading to the last page was fulfilling. I wish this one came out first and would recommend starting out with this book if you haven't read the ...more

Thank you, Annette Lyon, for another new friend. The Newport Ladies have yet to disappoint! Paige's tale is one we can all relate to, and she is a strong, sympathetic character. When the disillusion of her ideal marriage shatters, Paige learns what she is made of and that when God closes a door (or someone else slams it!) He truly always opens a window. The light He sends most often comes in the form of a new friend. Thank Heaven for the Newport Ladies Book Club.
This is the 3rd book I have read in this series and I have loved each one. Several women get together to talk about books. None of them know each other when the club starts but wonderful and lasting and uplifting friendships are made. This book features Paige who is a young divorced LDS mother of 2 boys. As she says: this is not supposed to be her life. Just good reading and watching these women grow and adapt as they encounter hard times in their lives!!!
I enjoyed reading about Paige in this third book of The Newport Ladies Book Club series. It has been interesting to get to know the individual members of the book club and review the same events from each perspective. Paige has been through a divorce and moves to Newport to start over with her two young sons. She remains faithful through her trials and learns what is truly valuable to her. Friendship and forgiveness are themes in this book.
This one was my favorite so far of the Newport Ladies Book Club series. I love it when an book is emotionally spot on. I didn't know how I'd feel in the situation until I read my own feelings on the page. That happened again and again in this book! Not the perfect, storybook ending, nothing trite or cliche; just real life situations and a strong woman who struggles through and is better because of it. Pick this one up, you won't be sorry!

3.5 stars. Cute story. I like the idea of four interlocking stories; I'd previously read Olivia (Livvy's story), so it was interesting to me to see how the glimpses I had of Paige were fleshed out in this story. The writing wasn't particularly beautiful, but it was clean (it didn't tend to distract me from the story), and I liked that Paige seemed very real and human to me, and that the ending wasn't necessarily what readers might expect.
