Freshman year of college is hard even when you're not tied to the future king of a supernatural society.

Allie dives into college head first with Hailey as her roommate and the city of New Orleans as her backyard. As things within The Society heat up, Allie realizes that whether she’s with Levi or not, she's in far too deep to turn back.

I loved Flight and immediately devoured Focus as soon as I received it. Allie is starting her freshman year at college and trying to get a fresh start. Levi isn't really letting that happen. He loves Allie and wants forgiveness. I love Levi but he did do a really bad thing in Flight. I didn't think he should be forgiven easily and neither did Allie. She makes him work for it.

I was happy Allie wasn't a push over but then at the same time I was eventually getting a bit annoyed with her not giving

I just finished reading this early this morning. I pulled an all nighter alright, but it was so freaking worth it!

I am so in love with Levi. My gosh the way he treasures Allie, the things he did for her (sighs dreamily). Let me just say that I would definitely love to be his princess any day. Allie was still headstrong as ever, and boy did she make Levi work for it. There were a few times I was thinking gosh just forgive him already,
Such a great book! I loved Flight, now I love Focus, now I can't wait for Found! Can't wait for more Allie and Levi!!!

Focus is now available :)
So here are some of the many reasons to fall in love with this series and specifically with Focus!

1. Levi continues to be completely hot. Despite his "stupid" streak in which he tries to leave Allie in the dark. He shows his sweeter side in this sequel as he tries to win her back over. I do love that he never loses that confident edge with it.

2. We see more of the supporting characters! I actually fell a little in love with Jared in this book. Strange idea if you have read Flight but you really

Nah. Just, Nah. I was no more impressed with this ridiculous excuse for a book as I was with the first one; even more so actually. Far too many of the scenes were way too forced and unnecessary.

I especially detested the "surprise plot twists." They were pathetic and not in the least bit surprising: the evil douch-bags were evil (WOW!), the crazy ex-boyfriend was crazy AND evil (shocker!!), and best of all, the love couple truly were meant to be, for absolutely NO REASON AT ALL (SAY WHAT NOW?!
This book made me feel so many feels. Like seriously. But it took me a while to remember who Allie was and to remember that I actually liked being inside her head.

At first I was like,

But then I remembered

Then she reminds us of what Levi did.

And I was all

Even though Levi was all

While Allie was effectively tempting Levi with her "you can look but don't touch" look.

We finally meet Jared's brother, Bryant, and another female Pteron, Michelle.

And Allie's ex-boyfriend worms his way back into her life
Autumn Review
Alyssa Rose Ivy is one of the most consistent writers I follow. Every time I read one of her books, I know that it will be a quality story. The Crescent Chronicles is probably my favorite series of hers. I read Flight last year and fell in love with the characters and the story. I couldn't wait to read Focus!

Ok, so at the end of Flight, things aren't looking too good for Allie and Levi's relationship. Levi wasn't particularly forthcoming in Allie's role in their relationship. Well, in this book,

Once I finished reading Flight (the first book), I immediately wanted the 2nd book straight away. The cliffhanger at the end of book 1 was just too much to handle!!! However, i was quite surprised when i started Focus (the second book) as it started off really different to what i expected. The 1st book ended with a question which i thought would be answered by Allie at the beginning of the 2nd book. Although, the beginning of this book was still really good, i suppose i would of liked to see ho ...more
I really enjoyed the story-telling in this book. The writing may have been immature and annoying some of the time, but the world and story were really great. I read the whole series in one day so it wasn't a long book by any means, and it always left on a cliff hanger. It probably could have been just one novel if combined.

I really wish that the author focused more on the great world she created than the romance. It was pretty fascinating, and by book three I really wanted more information on th

Thank you so much Alyssa for sending me an ARC of Focus. After finishing Flight, I was very anxious to read book 2 and see where Levi and Allie were headed. Although Allie really frustrated me while I was reading this, being the hard headed, stubborn person that she is, I was happy to see that she at least gave in somewhat. Focus picks up when Allie and Hailey head off to college. Here Allie and Hailey form a strong female bond, which of course Allie needs. Along
My opinion on this book:

I’m already a fan of Alyssa Rose Ivy books but.. this books blows everything away! Lately there are a lot of good books coming out and the competition is hard (especially for fantasy books) but this one, it’s very damn special. I love the writing style of this book, no of this whole series! When you start reading this book your just unable to put the book away. Sometimes I check how many pages I still have to read because I can’t concentrate anymore but with this book I

I wasn't feeling Book #2 at all. I'm sure my Nook's happy I'm done reading because there were several times I did want to smash it. I was sooooooooooo X10000000 annoyed as hell with Allie this time around. She kept running hot & cold with Levi, and about the 1000th (totally exaggerating) kiss & than pushing him away I wanted to smash my nook!

Things that annoyed about Allie this time around me:
1. She kept leading him on
2. She didn't trust Byrant but when with him anyway & almost got
After reading the first book, I was not impressed with Levi, despite all his good qualities because he tricked allie into a lifelong commitment with him. In this book I changed my mind. From the begining Levi showed his love and devotion for allie. you start to see that things are real between them. I love the fact that Allie is not giving into him easy, even though she wants to. Allie makes him work for her returned feelings. yes its still a bit wierd for me how he went about things with her. b ...more
Alyssa has out done herself once again. I love her work, once I started reading Focus I couldn't put it down. I had to see where it went with each character. Absolutely AMAZING!
I felt like we got to see different sides of some of the characters in Focus, especially Jared.
In Focus, Levi is more protective and persistent than ever before when it comes to Allie. Allie, however, is still trying to figure out what she wants in life, she doesn't want the fact that if she chooses to be with Levi, mean

Focus is book #2 in The Crescent Chronicles series.

This book picks back up right after the end of the first book in the series Flight.

I love that Allie doesn't just immediately forgive Levi he totally doesn't deserve it. Prince Levi who would have thunk it lol!!!

I love the interactions between Levi and Allie because she doesn't put up with any of his crap. She does come across a bit spoilt and prissy at times but I l
I don't know what I expected, given the previous book in this series, but this book was an exercise in stupidity and frustration. Allison has to be the absolute worst female lead character I've ever encountered, and believe me, I've encountered some pretty stupid ones in the romance and supernatural genres.

Loving this series!!

In the beginning of the book I feel bad for Levi, I know Allie is upset for being set up by the guy she loves, eventually she gives him the benefit of the doubt and stops fighting. Levi and Allie are too cute together. I am loving all the characters and how they interact together. Jared becomes a more likable character in this book and you get to see his nice geeky side and I love Allie's new friends Anne and Tiffany. I was glad that Allie's friends find out the truth about

I'm head over heels in love with him...
Allison was kind of annoying in this book and Jared totally shone in it! Hailey totally rock it and I totally hated allie ex boyfriend ughhh

I WANT MORE ALYSSA, pretty please?

It was only 3/4 into the book where I started to think Levi was decent. He does have a sweet and genuine side which I was thankful for because I was going to stop reading this series if he was going to be an arrogant tosser the whole way through.

We see Allie have more of a backbone in dealing with Levi and when she finally gave into Levi completely, you can see why (we get to know Levi's more sensitive side with Allie, otherwise I would be like "Why the f**k are you with that guy!").

By the end o
When female protagonist start resisting the advances of the guy they really, really know how it's gonna end before it begins!

I wish the focus of Focus had been a little more solid - less on the obvious goggling and innuendo. Not that I'm complaining about the hotness that is Levi!!

Rating: 3.5/5 stars

I was thankful that this second installment did not consist a love triangle. In book one, it had stated that Levi was a crowned prince of the paranormal society in New Orleans. He was forced by his dad to take a mate in order to keep the reign of the Laurents. Coincidentally, he met and fell in love with Allie. He didn't want to lose her, and so he deceived her by bonding with him unknowingly. In this book, Allie was making Levi pay for his deceitfulness, which annoyed the hec
I was ultimately disappointed with this book.

The character became increasingly annoying, extra self-righteous and a basic pain in the arse. I ended up skimming large chunks of this, it was all so repetitive to the point of throwing the book around. Why bother reading when we get to read the same scenario again and again? Just when you think the reader might get the benefit of the story actually moving along, more of the same gives the book it's boring continuity.

The on again off again nature of
I started and finished this book in feeling the same way: livid. The sexism is terrifying and disgusting: "Relationships aren't a democracy. Not everyone gets an equal vote." Yikes.

Really Really bad.
Not really what I would call a love story, more a story of Stockholm syndrome, and a love interest who don't understand a no.
I hated it.
was hoping the second book was better. no dice. it was shallow and the conversations stilted and rushed. wont be wasting time on the next one.
I don't really know what to think. But I know the next book will frustrate me cos she'll go and do something stupid!
I Had really high expectations for tis one, but then the only thing the book talked about was this little three word syllables ( wich is really begginig to annoy me at this point ) that begins with S and End with X. seriously?!. as much as I love this two but Allie really annerved me.
not even in the middle of the book and i was like * This is absurd you clearly love him! Just do it you thickheaded womemen, and get over with!*

*exasperated sigh*

this book gave me a headache.

Favorite Quote(s):

“‘Well, I love you.’ It was the third time he’d said the words, and although he said them casually, I could tell by the intensity of his gaze that he desperately wanted me to say them back to him. I’d said the words to a boy before. I’d said them to Toby so many times that they became nothing more than a greeting. Still, admitting my feelings to Levi was a big step, and I knew it was time to take it. ‘I love you, too.’ His eyes lit up. ‘I’m glad you’ve finally realized it.’”
