Awesome! I don’t really know where to start. I am still reeling from the emotional turmoil this book put me through. This is for sure a book that’s going to leave me with a book hangover, and that’s a bummer, as

This series just does it for me. Pushes all my buttons. The I Am Just Junco books make my stomach clench, make me tear up, make me wince, make me flinch and keep me on the edge of my seat. Junco grabbed my heart in a vice grip from the very first and never lets go. Flight is the 3rd book in this science fiction series and the clamp is particularly tight and twisty for this journey.

I'm not really sure how to review this book without giving things away. However, this is book three in a series, so plenty has happened already, some of which I'm going to inevitably give away.

To begin this review, I'd like to talk about Junco. She's the star of the show here and after the things that happened in the two previous books in this series, she's getting sick of being lied to, and sick of all the fighting and killing. You can definitely tell that even though she got a bit of down t...more I'm not really sure how to review this book without giving things away. However, this is book three in a series, so plenty has happened already, some of which I'm going to inevitably give away.

To begin this review, I'd like to talk about Junco. She's the star of the show here and after the things that happened in the two previous books in this series, she's getting sick of being lied to, and sick of all the fighting and killing. You can definitely tell that even though she got a bit of down time when book two ended, she's still as tired of things. Being lied to for so long doesn't just go away, especially when everyone around you is still lying to you. And that is exactly what is happening around Junco, with everyone lying or omitting things to protect her. She's sick of it, and it really shows. I definitely felt bad for her all throughout this novel, and things only get worse.

As for the side characters, I still like Tier the best, and I really want him and Junco to work out. However, we do learn some more about Lucan, but not enough to really get a sense of whether he's good or bad. In this book, we meet Gideon. He's an interesting one, because he knew Junco from the time when she was little. So it's definitely intriguing to see the two of them interact with each other, but I'm not sure how I feel about him, either. Come to think of it, that's how I feel about so many characters in this series, I would be ridiculously suspicious of everyone if I were Junco, and this just makes the whole storyline amazing.

As for the plot of this book, it's pretty insane. There has been mythology in this series all along. In the first book, it started with Tier and stories he told Junco. In the second, there are more stories, and we find out that Junco could play a part in those stories. In this book, mythology is pretty front and center, because there is a prophecy that involves seven siblings and Junco is one of them. Junco and her team have to go back to Earth to get the other six. This is what this book is about, and it's ridiculously twisty and fast-paced. I thought it was an incredible storyline.

Therefore, this book was yet another great installment in the Junco series. I love it, but when I read these books, I feel so bad for Junco. But then, I think about it, and I figure out that Junco is taking this stuff a zillion times better than I would in her situation. She trusts a lot of people because she wants to believe, and that's more than I know I'd be able to do. The fact that I even think about this stuff should tell you all what a great book and series this is. I definitely recommend it. (less)

I'll say it again to stop any of you happy ending romance lovers from wasting your time: If you’re looking for an easy read, a happily ever after, or something light then just skip Junco. She’s not easy, she’s definitely not happy, and she’s about as deep of a character as you can get.

Aaah! I thought this was a trilogy! This keeps happening to me. So I'm a little disappointed that I have to wait for more but it is what it is. Again this book slightly confusing at parts but all in all a good solid read. I don't know how many books are planned but as long as the story continues working toward an end result I'm fine. I'm ready for the fourth book. Like, now.

I hope you paid attention in the first two books, so maybe you are a little prepared for the hurricane that is Junco's story.

There are so many twists in this story, I was scared to turn the pages. But trust me, every single one of them just make the story even more addicting and add a little piece to the puzzle that has been building since the first word of the first book.

This science fiction series by author J.A. Huss totally took me by surprise. "Just Junco" turns out to be a foul-mouthed super badass heroine and the series totally kicks ass.

In the first pages of book one we are introduced right away to Junco, our heroine who is by no means a girly-girl. She's the type who knows all her weapons and firearms, would probably go nuts over a motorcycle helmet sale, and could care less about fashion and anything frilly. All she knows are secret military ops and assassinations. She's been trained to be a ruthless killer since birth and she's pretty good at what she does, but we learn that there's so much more to her and everybody wants her for themselves. Everybody here means the aliens or Avians as they are called, and the humans, all the different factions and republics. They all have an agenda and Junco is right smack in the middle of it all.

Clutch, Fledge, and Flight are pretty much made of the same stuff--they are all exciting, action-packed, and emotional in different ways. In each succeeding book, the excitement and emotional factor rise and you can't help but be swept along with it. It's hard to talk about specific events without giving anything away.

What I really like about this series is the main character, Junco, who is truly a badass killing machine, but we also see a vulnerable side to her. We see how her life has been like since she was young and we see how things affect her. We see her being constantly barraged with things that could bring any person down, but we see her cry, get hurt, and bring herself back up. She is one character that you would truly feel and root for to the end.

Another thing I like about the series is that it's very fast-paced and the story is very original. I like the author's unique writing style. I like that there's always something happening and each twist to the story is revealed at the perfect moment. Sometimes you'd think there are too many twists, but they all add to the story and come together nicely. I also like the play with mythology and religion mixed in with the science.

This series is a fun sci fi piece with a dash of dystopian and a little bit of fantasy. It really is pretty exciting and I can't wait to read what happens next.

First off, bravo J.A. for continuing to make a strong, kick ass heroine. The world needs more of those! This book does not let you down if you've read the other two. Junco is still wham-bam-thank-you-mam kick ass, strong and courageous. The book allows you to get to know Junco a little closer this time. Seeing her character arc develop even further. Hmm, I'm not sure what to do with this installment in the series. Honestly, I am still reeling from the emotional impact of this book. There were so many hits for Junco in this book and there aren't any that I can even discuss without spoilers. Throughout this book, Junco is definitely more emotionally fragile than in the other two books before this. Everything that she's gone through is just piling up on her. This girl needs a vacation in the worst way...instead she has the weight of the world, her team, and Tier all upon her...pressuring her to be strong. She's just 19 and is buckling under it all. As a reader, it emotionally hurts to read this book. Every time she turns around, there's another blow...and you just don't know for sure who she should be trusting.

In this book the team is headed to Earth to save the five siblings who remain there. Almost the entire book is a huge battle...and it's not pretty. In between, Junco is learning more truths about her life that she didn't know or didn't remember. She's been so messed up by everyone in her life. It's amazing that the girl holds it together as well as she does. And in the end, I agreed with what she did...wholeheartedly, but am not sure about how I feel with the outcome. Lucan? I'm just not feeling it. I just don't connect with him the way that I do the other characters. Maybe because he holds so much power? I'm just not sure I trust that.

There is one thing that's been a constant in Junco's life, besides the constant killing...there has never been a single person whom she's loved that's ever managed to stick. As a result, she takes comfort and love whenever she can get it. In fact, in this book Istan calls her out about it, calling her too free with her love. She becomes really emotionally intimate (not so much in a sexual manner, but it's still an intimate thing) with several of the guys throughout these books which doesn't really feel right knowing her relationship with Tier, but when you look at her life, it's understandable. And it makes it that much more crushing emotionally once again when someone she loves disappears from her life. Unfortunately, there is too much of that loss in this book.

Then there is the small teaser for book #4 and it just makes me want to sob for her. *gah* Again, this is a sign of an amazing series...I care so much about this character. It's probably not healthy since this is completely fictional world and set of characters, but I have come to love them and care about what's happening. I can't even imagine where the series goes from here, but I'm very excited to find out. (again....soon, right?? Please....)

I received a free copy of this novel for my honest review. Book three opens with Junco back from her hiatus with Tier. You get an even closer connection with Junco (yes, really). This portion she learns things about Lucan and gets her crew’s new mission. She has to return to Earth to bring back “The Siblings”. Once again, Flight is a wonderful addition to the series, J.A. Flight continues the story of Junco, along with her human 'family' and her Avian friends and love interest. Ms. Huss excels at making the characters come alive and leap off the page to drag you straight back into the action of the story, making you feel as if you are actually there and experiencing everything right along with Junco and not just reading about it after the fact.

Once the mission is in play and the team is on Earth again, Junco must, once again, decide who she can and can't trust. She is reunited with her mother and father, and a childhood friend whom she has lost memories of.

Not only does Junco have to deal with or avoid the political machinations of her parents but she has to convince the Six Siblings to come with the team back to The Band. And thereby, trigger the prophecy. All before the nuclear reactor powering the Mountain Republic blows!

However, Junco is faced with some startling revelations during her escape attempt. Some of these revelations have me realizing there is so much more going on here that I realized. Junco does have a destiny to fulfill. And a choice to make.
"Yeah, well, I know for a fact I won't die here, Gideon. I've got a destiny and it isn't to be slashed to pieces by my brother's clones. So, yeah, I'm good with this, let's go."

With each book in this series, Ms. Huss provides us with answers to questions posed in previous books. But she also leaves us with new unanswered ones and Flight is no exception. At the end, I was gasping and saying "Wait. What?!?"

In Flight, I delighted in another tightly written, pulse-pounding story. Junco's world is just as gritty and violent as ever, but Ms. Huss' description of it and the action that occurs is brilliant! I'm ever so pleased to be on this journey with Junco. I find I identify with her wanting to believe in people - even though she has no reason to.
