Tati has a very simple life that she has grown accustomed to. She works as a cashier at the local grocery store and the most important person in her life is her older, sophisticated and glamorous older sister. But then Tati meets Roy and things start to change for her. Her own life is looking up, but will her older sister allow it?

This was a quick read. It was okay, but I found that the author's note about the inspiration for the story was more interesting than the book itself.

As I started reading this story, I knew I wanted to transfer some of my confidence to Tati so that she could manhandle her older, psycho sister Jacqueline. Unfortunately, when someone is emotionally and/or physically abused, it's sometimes hard for them to get from under what's happening to them. Jacqueline treats her like an ugly stepchild and because Jacqueline is older and was once her legal guardian, Tati seems to take whatever Jacqueline dishes out.
