I received this book free in return for an honest review, and have written it for the discerning reader. If you are not fussy about the quality of the writing and feel that the book has other attributes that make you want to read it, then this review is probably not that relevant to you. However, I must publish it for those readers for whom the quality of the prose is an important factor in their enjoyment of a book.

I didn't finish this book for several reasons. First, the prose was poor. An ov

An unusual and intriguing story which twists and turns so you never know what's going to happen next. The 'deal' of the title is most curious and interesting and gives the story its quirky and surreal fizz. Plus there are nice touches of humour sprinkled throughout the tale. Even if you’re not a great romantic, you can sit back and let the story whisk you along. Of course, it does have a happy, romantic ending. In all, a very original and enjoyable read.

Clara is a normal girl who lives a normal life in her beautiful Sardinia: she has a nice, warm family, a permanent job and a boyfriend who is about to propose to her. Suddenly something goes wrong in Clara’s life and her world turns upside down. Her boyfriend breaks with her and she’s willing to do literally everything to have him back. This way, Clara mets a stranger who offers her a particular deal.

Set in Sardinia, in the city of Cagliari, we follow the story of 25 year old Clara, as -day by day- her world destabilises a little more, starting with meeting an old man in a forest.

The plot is an interesting one, varying between predictable and completely new. Or rather there are elements that are predictable. I would say the romance was a little, just because we've seen it a million times, but that doesn't mean the plot or writing is bad. I'll come back to this in a second, but I want to talk

This story is about Clara, a young lady living in Sardina. Clara breaks up with her boyfriend and is heartbroken. The mysterious Lucilla enters her life and hands her a special phone with directions to answer it day or night and follow instructions. Clara is called out to go to four different people on the verge of suicide and convince them that life is worth living. It was interesting to read about life in Sardinia and the interactions between Lucilla and Clara but the plot did not flow well. T ...more

A delightful contemporary romance by a talented new author. I discovered this book as a quarter finalist excerpt in this year's Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest and knew I wanted to read the whole thing. The plot is original and pleasantly unpredictable, yet light enough to make wonderful beach reading. Clara is a highly likeable protagonist but I especially adored the cast of secondary characters. These included the brilliantly named Miss Shake-Your-Bum and Clara's lively family, who at ...more

This was a bit different. Though I like the way that she ends up saving the one she loves in the end. Though she does not know that it her guardian angel that is trying to help her. This stranger help her in the long run. She makes a deal with her. That deal is something that she agrees too.

Clare finds her true love though out the book. Though I like I said it a good book. Though I will let you decide for yourself.

Even though this book wasn't anything like the ones I usually read, I really enjoyed it, especially how easily you could relate to the MC. Both lighthearted and serious, with a bit of supernatural touches, the storyline seems at once a little far-fetched, but still possible at the same time. Definitely worth reading over a weekend you have to yourself.

This book was okay. Great description of Italy, makes you want to go there. The writing was good, the characters somewhat predictable, but if you want a nice little romantic read, with a twist, this is a good choice.I think I will read more by Martina in the future. My honest review, its not bad, a quick read.

So glad I read this fabulous story especially since I want to read about Sardinia. I loved being in the beautiful landscape of Sardinia! I enjoyed Clara and her situation, but mostly I loved being among her family and work friends. Each character was unique and crafted wonderfully for the reader to want more. Perhaps a series to come. What a clever, sweet twist in the ending!
A gentle story with no big surprises but told in such a way that the story telling carries you along. Lovely descriptions of Italy that made me want to visit to enjoy the scenery. However, story wise it was a bit strange the way in which Clara didn't ask any serious questions of where her new friend came from, or lived, but apart from that I enjoyed the journey. 3.5/5

I'm not sure what this is meant to be, genre wise. It intimated young romance at the start, then veered off into fantasy. The storyline was all over the place and I'm afraid I had to give up.

It has been said that each one of us has a book inside them, or a story to tell. I started very early: already at nursery age I used to tell stories to my friends. Not only the traditional fairy tales, but I would also make up whole new stories.

My passion carried on until elementary school: once I learnt to write, I had another weapon on my hands, not only I could tell my stories, but I could also
