Do you have that friend, that super awesome friend who's amazing and sooo hip and soooo good and always recycles and probably knows how to knit and understands the phrase "artisan cheeses" and has her own Etsy store and makes sure her children all volunteer at the animal shelter and always has the coolest fair trade ethically made handbags? She's your coolest friend and she's soooo nice and you don't have a bad word to say about her? And you know how you j...more

I find that the best reviewers of Children’s Literature are children themselves and Change the World Before Bedtime did not disappoint my 2 ½ year old book monster. While I initially planned on rating this book 4 out of 5 stars, the sweet request for an encore performance from my daughter sealed the 5 star deal!

To impact the world in such a short time sounds crazy and ambitious. Certainly, the title of this storybook is what motivated me to make this selection. Once I began reading, the title made complete sense. Change The World Before Bedtime teaches kids to be part of changing the world into a always improving place. Children learn to have a proactive attitude and to develop a sense of community. My favorite detail about this book is how children learn to understand that their actions can impact and...more
This is a cute little kids book. You are shown that by doing good deeds, helping others, being good to the planet, your own body you can impact the world. I think that this is so true. By being kind to one person you can brighten their day and then they can be kind to another and it has a snowballing avalanche of people doing good things. This book brings this idea to a kids level. I like the quote "Start small and think big and you'll make dreams come true." I think this is so important to kids...more
The greatest part about this book is the illustrations. They are beautiful with so many aspects to them. Look for the message of recycling to be incorporated into every illustration. My particular favorite was a newspaper shirt. For a child that is just learning how to read, playing a little bit of search and find with the illustrations draws more interest to the book. Most of the words are simple, and the rhyme is easy to follow. The comic like dialogue bubbles all contain quick phrases that mo...more
Change the World Before Bedtime is a kids' book (it says pre-K to grade 2; I think it's a bit younger, but I don't have kids so what do I know?) that talks about different ways that kids can change the world. All the actions illustrated are things that a kid could actually do, which is nice. The idea is that any kid can be a superhero.
The art in this book is lovely. It's simple, but at the same time really textured. Overall it's a very pleasant read!

Change the World Before Bedtime is a great book for children. It is filled with colorful pictures and rhyming words. The great graphics will interest a child. It is a very positive book that teaches children how to make the world a better place; from eating healthy and learning to take care of the Earth. And most importantly, to speak kind words to others.

My kids loved this book - it was enjoyable and the illustrations were perfect. There are some strong messages for children to learn from and although it is geared towards younger children I can tell you that my twelve year old also loves it. He has special needs and fundamental messages such as these are perfect to help him navigate the world the rest of us may take for granted. I give this book 5 stars.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I read Change the World before Bedtime, in exchange for review from Netgalley.com. The book was published by Schiffer Publishing, Ltd. The book had a great message and excellent graphics. On the other hand, some pages were hard to read. SOme of the speech bubbles and fancy font was unreadable. I also had to use zoom to be able to read most of the book. My kids enjoyed the book though and enjoyed pointing out the characters in the book.
I picked this book from a publisher galley. I have been looking for books to read to my son and for him to read to me. We found it in this book. We read the book together. He is 1st grade reading level. We loved the book. It is all about reuse, recycle, donate used items and be kind to your fellow man. We enjoyed the fact that he could read and I could read. I will recommend this to his teacher for others to enjoy.
This is an excellent children's book with great illustrations. I am a lover of fantasy and fairy tales, just like my little girls, but the message within this book is brilliant. It inspired my children to discuss all the things they could do to change the world, and there's no greater book in the world than one that can do that! This is a book we will be reading again and again.
This is a very beautiful book about what little kids can do to change the world around them. Little nice and thoughtfull acts that can change the day of our friends and our planet. Although i can see it´s a nice rhym story, this book will be loved by moms more than children will do. Perfect to remind our children that they can do a lot of things to improve other people´s lives.
"Change the world before bedtime. It's easy. You'll see. Sharing a part of your heart is the key." A cute book about how anyone can change the world for better in just one day. From recycling, to visiting the sick, to donating time and money to good causes. This book is packed full of ideas of helpful things that kids can do. Fantastic illustrations with vibrant colors that draw the reader in. A great little book to help kids remember to be friendly, kind, and do good deeds all day long.
This book combines completely cute, whimsical illustrations that draw children's eyes with a rhyming text that is sure to entertain as well as encourage altruistic thinking. The focus of the book is to help kids think about small acts of kindness and goodness that they can do. Kids might not think of these things as changing the world, but the book shows kids doing small things like donating money, volunteering, being kind to others - things that actually would change the world if everyone did t...more
Through simple rhymes and terrific illustrations, this book teaches children to be responsible inhabitants of the planet in a manner that makes it seem fun and normal. This is the first page of the book and what a wonderful statement it is to hear. Change the world before bedtime. It's easy. You'll see! Sharing a part of your heart is the key.

I read this book in e-copy and I really enjoyed it. It talks a lot about the golden rule ‘do unto others as you would have them do unto you’. It is about how the small things in life can really help someone and make their day and therefore “Change the World Before Bedtime”. We often overlook the small things and think we have to do something big to make a difference when the reality is the small things make the most impact. This book grounds us and reminds us that the small things aren’t small...more

A really neat picture book that celebrates the acts of service we can all do, regardless of age. This one celebrates the child's ability to contribute to his or her community.
