I stumbled over this new-to-me author thanks to Kaylea Cross's books. Their books are published by the Wild Rose Press. Evil's Witness is a fast-paced and action-packed romantic suspense novel that kept my interest throughout the whole plot. Needless to say that I was hooked from the get-go. Evil's Witness provides likable and well-drawn main protagonists. That said, John's interactions with Steph's kids felt realistic and were wonderfully written.

Overall it's a very good read. Moreover, I reall

Stephanie Boyd is a divorced mother of 2. While on a camping trip in the woods she and the children hear a horrible accident and run to see if they can help. What they walk into is a hijacking of a semi-truck. To make matters worse it seems her ex husband, who works for the local police dept , and the Sheriff are in on the heist.

After seeing the driver shot by the sheriff her ex husband begs Stephanie to take the kids and to try and get away why he distracts them. But after they kill the sherif

This is like a lot of other romantic suspense stories. It was ok but had some plot weaknesses.

It’s not top quality, but it’s readable if you’re looking for romantic suspense. There was nothing special or different about it, but it was ok. The major weaknesses are in the ending climactic scenes. (1) The bad guy wants to kill the good guys and has two perfect chances to do it, but the bad guy decides to wait. The bad guy wants to tell the good guys how clever he is and what he’s

I am just enthralled with Jordon's writing. Her characters are stellar as is her writing. She makes putting down her book for any reason nigh impossible. She is an auto-buy for me!
Autumn Jordon’s fabulous romantic suspense, Evil’s Witness, is a real nail biter and I mean that literally. I should have worn gloves while reading. This fast-paced story with all of its twists and turns captured my attention from the start and held me riveted to the end. Both the central characters, FBI agent John Dolton and young nurse/divorced mother Stephanie Boyd, were so well fleshed out it felt as if I could sit down and have coffee with them, and I liked each of them–John for sure, very ...more

Stephanie is a mother of two and separated from her husband. All she wants to do is be strong for her children, taking them on a camping trip to show them that life will still go on. Things go bad quickly as an accident near the campgrounds drops Stephanie in the middle of a deadly situation. She learns two devastating secrets: first that her husband has been lying to her and second she's stumbled upon evidence of a local crime ring, and she's the only one who can identify Victor, one of the mas ...more
Stephanie and her two children are at the wrong place and time and witness something that they shouldn't. They are taken into to the protection of FBI agent John. John had been working on this case and Stephanie is their only real lead. Many things go wrong and I was kinda bummed because the mole was pretty obvious to me. I had that person figured out from the moment it stepped onto the page. I wish that it was more of a surprise. This book was fast paced and full of action. I loved it. I really ...more

I'll be honest. I like suspense. I like romance. But I usually don't like them together. But I did like this one, mainly because it was paced very well. The writing is tight and the dialogue realistic. I think all the reactions by the heroine to be very much how I would feel- a whole range of emotions, but mostly the need to keep her kids safe. The romance may seem to blossom quickly but I think under the circumstances, it is believable. I also enjoyed the interactions with the children. Obvious ...more

I loved this book!! Action-packed right from the beginning. Suspense & thrills, an awesome 'who can I trust?' Ride. With charaters you could not help but fall in love with & a strong family bond. Throw in some tear inducing moments & a sweet, if not abrupt HEA and you have a great story. Loved it

3.5 STARs- Romantic suspense story with a woman on the run being protected by a FBI agent struggling to get over a terrible loss. Novella length, lower steam than I normally read, but overall a pretty good read for a quick story I picked up free.

A great plot setup for some very intense, fast-paced, scary romantic suspense!

Jordon makes you care about the characters right away--and the stakes are high. Lots of heart-pounding emotion here!
Heart-pounding suspense! Read this on my Kindle and couldn't 'turn' the pages fast enough. Ms. Jordon out did herself on this one!
Enjoyed this book
This was another freebie ebook and I really enjoyed it. I did figure out who the mole was pretty quick but that didn't make the story any less enjoyable! In the book, Stephanie is camping with her children and they stumble upon quite the crime scene. In an effort to keep her safe while also using her to get information, John must whisk her away to a safe house. Here the thriller part of the book begins to take a back seat to romance and I did begin to lose interest but the author made sure to ke ...more
This was more of a 3 1/2 star book for me.

I had never previously heard of this author before I saw this book advertised as a freebie.
While I might not finish every single free read that I've downloaded, I actually managed to finish this one. For the most part, I found it to be very enjoyable.

I would probably recommend this to someone who likes reading a suspense-filled romance.

Stephanie, a divorced mother of two, witnesses a murder. Her ex arrives on the scene of the coin heist, which he is involved in, and is shot and killed. John is the FBI agent who's been after the thieves since they killed his partner. Now he must protect Stephanie and her kids while she tries to identify the traitors in the treasury department.
This was a enjoyable romantic suspense book, however, it offered nothing original in the way of storyline and was completely predictable. A divorced mom and kids in the wrong place at the wrong time witness a mob hit. They are able to get away and into a witness protection situation, whereby the lead agent sent to cover them falls for the mom (after suffering the loss of his wife, daughter and partner) while trying to bring down this mob family - and the mom, in turn, falls for him. They know th ...more

Definitely entertaining!

Definitely entertaining!

I enjoyed the way the story evolved with the romance woven in. It kept my attention for the whole story.

That which was meant for evil worked out for your good.

A little bit of evil then a lot of good. hmmmm. I was glad it worked out that they married.

If you're looking for a fast paced, page turning romantic suspense, then His Witness to Evil fits the bill. This book starts off with a bang and never slows down. I think one of the best parts about the book is the fast pacing. I loved the hero, Agent John Dolton. His character development was the high point of the book for me. He is dealing with the loss of his family and he finds love protecting a widow and her two children. The heroine, Stephanie, is believable and the family element adds a n ...more
needs an editor and proofreader. I figured out the guilty almost immediately.

Good read though the plot was slow
. ending was rather lame.
An enjoyable romance/suspense book featuring an intrepid divorcee with 2 kids who inadvertently becomes involved in Russian mob proceedings, witnessing both a truck heist and several murders, in cluding her ex-husband. This gets her involved with the FBI and the Treasury department, and someone is a mole feeding information that is going to get her killed!
An ok read. More suspense than romance with the romance leaning towards less than believable, even for fiction. MAJOR flaw - did someone not proof read this one? The theme font changes several times during the bk. Annoying.

Another WONDERFUL read from Autumn Jordan. I always know I better settle in when I start one of this author's books because I can't put her stories down until they're finished.
I read this book under the title "His Witness To Kill" I highly enjoyed it. I am assuming the author changed publishers? Either way, great plot, good characters, good ending.
Good story. I am new to this author, but glad I picked it up and gave it a try. There is a lot of action and suspense in addition to the romance developing. Overall good read.
While the story was engaging, much of the writing was cliche, shallow and difficult to get through. A good read if you've got nothing better to do.
