Dance and erotic romance! Katie Porter combined two of my favorite things in the world and poured them into a fabulous book filled with angst, emotion and hot sex! I don't think I can watch ballroom dance competions or SYTYCD without some dirty flashbacks to this book.

Though the Vegas Top Guns are still my fave Katie Porter series, Club Devant can be marked as a very close second and I can't wait to read the upcoming entries in this series.

Book exchanged for an honest review~

Lizzie Maynes is a professional Latin Dance champion that has been injured knee for the past six months. Lizzie's dance partner Dmitri (Dima) Turgenev has been doing a new type of dance separate from the professional circuit. Lizzie wants something more from Dima but is totally terrified by the prospect. Dima keeps everything close to the vest as far as his emotions and dreams are concerned. Dima dances at Club Devant and Lizzie finally sees him dance without
I was a little surprised though the book definitely had steamy sections some of the writing was flat. As if some of the emotion and spirit was missing until close to the end when it finally revved up. I liked the book but found the Vegas Fly boys/girl to be ever so much more titillating as well as having better story lines.

This is the story of Lizzie and Dima, professional ballroom dancers sidelined by an accident that occurred during a performance. The aftermath has Liz and Dima tiptoeing around each other, both wanting more from their personal and professional relationships, and neither knowing quite how to get there.

When Lizzie picks up Paul, a bartender at the club where Dima is now dancing, letting Dima see them having sex, things start moving in a direction that will make Lizzie and Dima figure out

Before I say anything else about Lead and Follow, I just have to take a moment and note that I picked up this book with a really open mind. You see I have never before read anything quite similar to this story. Never. But I just couldn't resist myself and ask this book for review (and here I really need to say a huge thank you to both Carrie Lofty and Lorelie Brown for providing me with a copy of this book upon my request).

I mean, have you read that premise? As soon as I read it I just had to ge

This is first book in a new series, Club Devant, by the writing team know as Katie Porter. This is my first title by the author and I loved it!

I was somewhat expecting a Dancing with The Stars type setting. All I got to say is this way better! It’s got the sizzling partnership of two competitive dancers with the kind of chemistry championships are made of. There’s even a fun lovin’ Texas cowboy to spice up the connection, and then the
Wow, that was the first word that came to mind when I finished Lead And Follow (Club Devant, Book 1) by Katie Porter. First off, I have to say to the writers who are Kate Porter, Carrie Lofty and Lorelie Brown, thank you for getting together and writing. I have read each and every book and the Vegas Top Guns books were some of my favorites of 2012 and this one is destined to be a favorite of 2013. Last year I became involved with ballroom dancing and since that time I've attended many competitio ...more

This is my first book from the fabulous Katie Porter and it definitely will not be my last. My blog partner has read Katie's books before and I read the synopsis of "Lead and Follow", I knew it was one book I had to read from Katie Porter.

"Lead and Follow" is a erotica with M/M and Menage in it. Erotica is one of my fave genres and having M/M and Menage elements made this book beyond HOT.
Remember me saying the synopsis sold me on reading this book, well rea

For me Lead and Follow just didn’t provide enough storyline. . I didn’t feel like I was able to know either Dima or Lizzie as characters, I wasn’t vested in their story, but I knew the authors would give the reader the expected HEA.

The book had a very small cast of characters (6, and 3 of those were mostly name only references) I felt no intimate connection or chemistry between Dima and Lizzie, They had a long term dance partnership going back to their teens, now as adults they both seemed to w

NOTE: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an HONEST review.

Dancing With The Stars is influencing authors now; "Lead & Follow" by Katie Porter (and the Club Devant series), "Ballroom Blitz" by Lorelei James, etc... As found in some of Katie Porter's non-Harlequin books, this has some HEAT -- so if m/m or menage action in a book turns you off, this probably won't be a favorite read for you. However, the sex is nicely balanced with dancing -- and quite frankly, the descriptions of th

*sigh* You should be able to hear my satisfaction all the way across the screen. I was pleasantly surprised with this book. First, because when an author becomes a favorite of mine I tend to stop reading blurbs and when I saw the name of the series was Club Devant immediately I thought BDSM. Surprise # 1, Club Devant is a burlesque club in New York City. Sexy….dancing. Surprise # 2, the main theme of this book and the hero/heroine revolves around dancing

This was another case of me getting lucky and having an author send me a hot read. I knew going in that it would be hot as the writing team of Katie Porter never disappoints… They know how to write very strong characters that go after what they want and need.

This is a hot friends to lovers story where you just want two very stubborn people to let down their walls and admit that what they need is standing right in front of them. Dima and Lizzie have been competitive ballroom dance partners for ye
This book is full of emotion. Dima is a strong, arrogant, dominant Russian who keeps himself and his dreams closed off from Lizzie out of fear of failure. Lizzie is impetuous and demanding and wants nothing more than to have all of Dima. The push and pull between these two emotionally, sexually and on the dance floor, was so beautiful. The way the author(s) opened Lizzie’s eyes to what was real and solid in front of her, and the way Dima was able to finally share himself, were both perfect. This ...more
I really wanted to like this. I'm all about a little ménage. But I never felt anything for the characters and I didn't even understand why a third was brought in except so there could be ménage scenes in the book. He served no purpose. Just never came together for me

I was given a copy for an honest review. It started out and was hot, hot, hot. You got what you needed to know about the characters to start to invest in them, but not much more. Then it really takes a surprising turn and there is more story than anything and you genuinely want the best for these characters. The main characters are award winning Latin dancers, so I loved all the dancing references and how they described the moves. It was really well done. I was happy with the ending, but I still ...more
I felt Lead and Follow was mainly sex, with a bit of story line thrown in for good measure! But that didn't stop me enjoying it. The story line was a bit predictable, but the sex was hot! There were many steamy, erotic sex scenes, the first of which involved Paul and Lizzie, then we got Lizzie and Dima and then Paul, Lizzie and Dima. The M/M/F scenes were not something I was used to - but they were definitely interesting. The dancing scenes were sexy as hell - which may be why I felt there was m ...more

I liked this book, but I must say, though, the best part of it was definitely the sex. And we are talking HOT, HOT, HOT! There's nothing wrong with the storyline, per se, but I found it to almost pale in comparison to the sexy bits, like it was white noise until the next sex scene. The premise was good, but the characters seemed a little dense because they are clearly letting each other know how they feel, but neither are picking up on it. I really liked Paul, and Dima was flippin' hot with his ...more

I really enjoyed this new series from Katie Porter. (Although I'm pretty sure that nothing can top the Vegas series.) The chemistry between the hero sand heroine was so potent. And the descriptions of dance blew me away, they were so vivid. I loved the fact that the m/f/m ménage resolved to a pairing between the original couple in a graceful way, with everyone happy, no one bitter. So yeah, a good read.

Bought from Kobo.
This was ok for me. The best scenes were those when Lizzie and Dima were dancing. Of course I liked Paul the cowboy, he was so sexy and laid back. But mostly I took stars away for this seeming so trite. Also enough already with the tormented I am afraid you will reject me crap. Man up Dima, and you too Lizzie! A decent naughty read, but I probably wouldn't read it twice.

I liked to club Devant! it was a great idea for a club. The two main characters were wonderful together you could tell that they really loved each other. the main heroine with her knee Torn up and you could almost feel her pain not being able to dance! The love scenes were fabulous and the tension buildup was great, plot was good, excellent read!
I tried to read this one twice and had to put it down both times. It just seems like two of them are out to hurt each other as much as possible without talking. I know they are passionate, but I hurt to read some of what they were doing to each other.

I thought this story was really good. I am not a huge fan of 3 people in a bedroom together but it worked for me in this book. I can't wait for the next one.
